Reinforcements

The girl stood there facing two beasts. She wasn't that good so this was a mission much beyond her ability. She was just passing by and it was completely coincidental but she had seen that boy.

His name was Timmy.

He was getting beaten up again and his reaction was the same. He never even winced.

And than the monster appeared. It was a low level rank B so she could take it out with her ability.

But Leah needed to hide her face.

Her identity couldn't be revealed.

She was taking some stuff to the art room for a teacher so there were plenty of masks in the box she carried. She took a white clown mask and put it on.

Leah took off her blazer. She tied her hair back and summoned forth her spear.

She was going to take that beast down.

She attacked it and had sent the boy Timmy away. He simply walked away casually as if nothing dangerous was happening. She could never understand that boy.

She had fought and fought with the monster. She hadn't called for reinforcement since there was just one monster. She could handle it herself. It was a quick beast,its hands were much longer than its legs and it was very powerful. She had managed to wear it down and just when she could deliver the few final blows something happened.

The other one came. It was a middle level B rank fiend. There was no way she could take it down in her current state.

She could just call for reinforcements now...

...and hope for the best.

"Jinx is like when you say you're relieved that something bad didn't happen and because you said just that than it happens. It's like fate deliberately does it out of spite." The monster groaned,his voice full of misery.

"Oh,but Can we help her now?" Timmy asked.

"We can't beat that! It's a mid silver rank monster ," The fiend shouted."I already had doubts about that low rank silver one."

"But we have to help her." Timmy said looking towards the girl in the distance. She was on defence the whole time. She just kept avoiding attacks.

"How do you expect us to do that?." the monster asked sounding annoyed.

"How do I use the power." Asked Timmy curling and uncurling his fist.

"For now we have no time to learn energy attacks so we can just fight normally. Just close your eyes and feel the power one more time. Focus all the energy into your attacks. Your physical traits will be greatly enhanced. Your body is at this point after merging with me,much more powerful than a normal human. You should, maybe be able to take that monster on." the fiend said giving up on convincing Timmy to escape.

"Okay." Timmy said closing his eyes.

Timmy felt the power. It was there.

He focused on controlling it and his body started to heat up.

Timmy's eyes shot open.

There was no white in his eyes,just black.

Everytime he exhaled a little bit of dark mist escaped his mouth.

He could feel the power inside him.

He was ready to fight now.

Leah was holding up against the monsters but couldn't find an opening to attack. All she could do was defend. She couldn't do anything else against two B rank monsters. She decided to hold them off until reinforcements arrived.

Leah avoided an attacked and jumped back,high into the air. Than the larger beast suddenly released an energy attack.

It hadn't used an energy attack earlier so why now? Leah thought to herself. She had let her guard down and thought that this was not an mystic type beast.

Leah blocked the energy attack with her spear and the impact sent her crashing into the ground. She forced herself to stand while using her spear for support.

She gritted her teeth and glared at the beasts."it's not over,I won't lose now."

She stumbled as she took a few steps forward. She wasn't going to back down now.

Than she felt a hand on her shoulder.

Reinforcements?

"Please stand down. You'll get hurt." She heard someone say.

Someone slowly passed her and walked until they stood in front of the monster.

He wore Marlin highschool uniform.

He had black untidy hair that had been terribly cut.

He wasn't too short but he wasn't tall at all.

He looked familiar.

Who exactly was he?

"You're making a mess and I have to stop you." He said looking up at the monsters.

They both roared loudly and fiercely.

Than it was silence that followed.

Than there was a massive sound.

That explosive sound was the impact from him merely leaping off the ground.

Than there was another explosive sound.

That sound was the impact from him punching the monster. 

It took one punch to make the monsters head turn and the next punch sent the monster crashing onto the ground.

It was down.

In 2 strikes,it had fallen.

Than he charged at the smaller beast.

It tried to strike him with its hand but he grabbed it's approaching arm.

That alone sent a big shockwave around the area.

Than he held its arm with both his hands and pulled. The monster lifted off the ground and he used all his strength as he swung the monster and threw it.

It flew into a building and sent the wall crumbling.

The boy stumbled towards it and than he suddenly collapsed.

Leah was watching his back in shock the entire time and couldn't confirm who the boy was.

She went over to look at his face and he just lay there with his untidy hair covering his eyes.

She gasped when she saw who the person lying there was.

It was Timmy.

Leah couldn't believe her eyes. It was that weak,creepy boy from her class.

"Did I stop it?" The boy asked.

"Yeah" Leah said helping him sit up.

"Oh,that's good." Timmy said."But I'm going to have to get a new uniform."

Timmy's uniform was pretty torn and worn out.

"Yeah," Leah said awkwardly before asking."So you're gifted?"

"Hm,gifted?" Timmy said scratching his head."I don't know what's that."

"Ehhh..." Leah said even more awkwardly.

This boy is truly clueless Leah thought to herself. Even though his expression was straight. There was a hint of confusion in his voice. He just kept staringing at her with his dark and empty black eyes.

"A person like you or me with powers,we are gifted." Leah explained to Timmy.

"We're gifted?" Timmy asked slowly.

Leah nodded.

"Because we have powers?" Timmy said slowly.

"Yes." Leah replied.

"So people with no powers aren't gifted?" Timmy asked.

"Y-yes." Leah said.

"So we are called gifted because our power is our gift?" Timmy asked.

Leah nodded again.

"But someone once told me that everyone has been gifted. They said everyone who breathes and live have the gift of life." Timmy said as he looked down.

Leah kept silent before saying,"but eventually our life gets taken away,what kind of a gift is that anyways."

"I asked him that exactly and he said that nothing lasts forever. He said that life is the greatest gift because once you lose your life,you lose every other gift in your life."

Timmy said as he sat with one hand on his knee.

Leah kept silent this Time. There was silence for a while before Timmy broke the silence.

"Why are you wearing a mask?" Timmy asked.

"Because I'm hiding my face",Leah said in a matter-of-fact tone.

"Oh, I want one t...",Timmy said before he started to feel dizzy. He tried to stand but before he knew it all he saw was darkness.

He had lost his consciousness.

"Hey Timmy!" Leah shouted as she held him just before he fell.

"Hey!" A voice shouted at Leah.

"Did you do this?", another person asked.

Leah turned and saw two people facing her. They were familiar faces. They were both observing the slain monsters. 

"Well no not really." Leah said before looking at Timmy." he did."

"That kid?" The tall darker one said. His name was Neale. He had some beard growing out and his brown hair was longer on the top and shaved on the sides. He was a bit sturdy in build.

His twin brother, Fin was a bit lighter in complexion but he also had brown hair. His hairstyle was similar to his brother only his side hair wasn't completely short. He was of medium height.

Fin walked over and observed Timmy, "does the organization know about him?"

"No, I think he's newly awoken," Leah said still holding Timmy. "What do we do with him?"

"Let's take him back to headquarters," Neale said taking Timmy from Leah's arms. He carried him in his arms and said, "Let's go, the cleanup party will arrive and do their job."

"What will they do with him?" Leah asked standing up.

"We don't know, we'll know once we reach the organization," Fin said staring suspiciously at Leah. "Who is he? Your boyfriend?"

"No, no, no," Leah hastily replied getting flustered.

"You can take out the mask now," Neale said smirking.

"Sure," Leah said taking out her mask and throwing it at Neale.

"Well, let's get outta here.", Neale and Fin both said looking at each other.

The twins and Leah activated a teleportation portal and in a woosh, they left for the organization.

And yes, maybe this is where it all began.

This is the very beginning.
