Chapter 15:
Beyond the shadows
2 months later, Timmy was standing alone in the training room. He could feel the mystical energy flowing through his veins, as sweat dripped from his forehead. His eyebrows furrowed, and his face was full of seriousness. His now long hair was wet and it stuck to his wet forehead.
Timmy took a deep breath in before throwing the punch.
"Huah!" He yelled as he swung his fist through the air. His fist flashed through the air, so fast that it was nearly invisible to the human eye. A gigantic sonic boom appeared from the sheer force of the punch exerted. Timmy could feel the wind as it rushed around his arm, taking a few seconds to disperse.
"100%," Jago mumbled from within his head.
Timmy's body began glowing as a layer of energy covered him from head to toe. Gusts of air suddenly began whirling around him, and it was so rapid and intense that it was visible to the human eye.
"Do you want to know why it was called the kite technique?" Jago asked Timmy.
"Yes, why is it called the kite technique?" Timmy asked Jago.
"Because, Because with this technique you can harness the power of the skies. Your attacks are greatly enhanced by the wind element." Jago explained.
Timmy did not reply for a while and looked at the power gathering in his body. Suddenly the power exploded and a large mass of energy could be seen leaving Timmy's body before it finally returned to him. Outside his body, it seemed almost liquid as it floated and danced through the air.
"You have unlocked, Algorithm," Jago told Timmy, there was a hint of awe in his voice.
"So what does that do?" Timmy asked as he admired the layer of energy over his body.
"Well, enhanced physical capabilities obviously and it means you have fully comprehended the kite technique."
"The kite technique, huh?" Timmy threw a punch, and another before he released a flurry of attacks at the thin air.
"Yes, and you should get going. Your classes begin soon," Jago grumbled like an old man.
"Okay," Timmy said before getting back to his room.
He bathed and changed into the crystal academy uniform. Very soon he was dressed and he headed to his classes. Breakfast was served first thing in the morning and thereafter students had their own free time.
The classes began and Timmy went through the day as normal. The day dragged on like an old crippled man, and every second seemed to multiply into a thousand times longer than it should have been. The boring teachers and the thick books were something that had not changed from Timmy's life. He never disliked it, but it was not very interesting.
Speaking about his previous life, he could not wait to go home. Though he was foreign to the sensation of emotions, he did feel the urge to return home and see his family.
Timmy went through the day like a robot, somehow surviving the until the practical lessons at the end of the day. Finally, the period which he had been waiting for arrived. Combat training.
In walked Professor McKinney, elegant and confident in his stride. He walked like a man who held the moon. For the past 2 months, the class had been doing mystical combat arts. They were learning a technique known as the ' Elephants Rage'. So far, the ones who had properly comprehended this technique were only Neo, Leah, and Timmy.
Neo had comprehended it the most at around 67%, Leah was a little back at 60% and Timmy was at 50%. It was a high-level technique, sitting at stage 3 so it was no surprise they were taking time to comprehend it.
Professor McKinney informed them that while it could take almost a year to be comprehended, it was a very effective technique. While it used very little mystical energy, its attacks were extremely powerful.
"Tomorrow is the tournament, in the last week I told you that it is important that you enter this competition while knowing all of your strengths, and your weaknesses!" Professor Mckinney said to them as they surrounded him with all their attention focused on him.
Timmy already knew his capabilities going into battle. His sword techniques were extremely excellent at this point and he was sure there were few that matched his level. His energy ball was also extremely powerful and his aim had improved by leaps and bounds. Additionally, his physique had improved when he reached ' Algorithm' and he was pretty solid physically. But above all that, his most powerful secret weapon made him confident he could go far in the tournament. He also learned another combat art which was extremely powerful.
"I am going to arrange you into pairs, and I simply want you to spar with each other in preparation for tomorrow!" Professor announced.
He began arranging everybody into pairs and Timmy found himself face-to-face with Neo.
"So, I guess we're not buddies for now right?" Neo asked as he cautiously circled around Timmy.
"Just for now, " Timmy said as his eyes followed Neo closely.
"Well then, enough chit-chat!" Neo bellowed as he charged toward Timmy. He was like a mad oxen charging at a red flag, his powerful muscles were ready to go into action and help him take down his enemy, no matter the cost.
"I agree," Timmy said jumping high into the sky before conjuring an energy ball and throwing it at Neo. Neo jumped back and avoided the energy blast, causing a large crater to appear in the ground where the energy blast exploded.
Neo attacked Timmy again before he could properly land. He swung his fist toward Timmy, forcing him to lift his hands to block the vicious attack. Neo's powerful attack sent Timmy flying back.
Timmy quickly balanced himself before avoiding Neo's attacks. Neo was not even allowing him a chance to attack. But Timmy needed just one attack, Neo was extremely durable but a single attack at full strength would do the trick. After finding an opening when Neo was off balance, Timmy punched him in the stomach before elbowing him in the face. Then he stopped holding back and swung his left fist with as much power as he could.
BOOM!
With a massive sound, Neo's body flew across the training room and into the wall on the other side of the training room.
"Hey Timmy, why don't you hold back?" Professor McKinney nearly shouted as he jogged over to see if Neo was okay.
"He will be fine. Neo's body is made out of lead or something," Timmy said as he walked away.
Sure enough, soon Neo was up, holding his ribs. He immediately began grumbling, "Damn, I have never been hit that hard before."
