Fake Lovers, Interrupted

“Cho-chan, welcome home.” My mother greeted me at the front door. I immediately turned pale. Isn't she on a business trip at Okinawa for a week? What is she doing here?

“Mom, what are you doing here?” I stutter. My mom is smilling from ear to ear.

“Well, my trip ended early. So, I decide to come home and cook dinner for you and Shouta. It's been a while since we have dinner together. I just didn't expect us to have a company." she said, still smiling.

I slowly turn my head towards Chigusa. She too is smilling. I feel like I’m shrinking by the minute the longer I stand there. As my mother ushered us inside, she’s already fawning over her.

“Oh my dear, you're so pretty. What's your name?"

“Chigusa...Emiya.”

"I see. Welcome to our home, Chigusa-san." my mom added. Chigusa nodded. A few seconds later, I heard a footstep coming from upstairs. Must be my little brother, Shota-kun. 

“Wow, she’s ‘big’.” My twelve year old brother commented as soon as he see Chigusa. If you're wondering what Shouta meant by that, he is actually talking about Chigusa’s ample bosom. My little brother brazen commentary left me slightly embarrassed. I instantly smack his head. 

He writhes in pain.

"Hey, why did you smack my head?"

"Shut up. Go take a bath. You stink!" I order. Shota look at me like he wanted to cry. Like hell I care. But, he scurry to the bathroom like he's told. I smile like a winner. 

"Wow, I have no idea you're pretty tough on your brother." Chigusa whispered to my ear.

"He deserves it." I replied. My mother laugh a little.

"Cho's always like that. But, Shota listen to him well. Come Chigusa-san. Let's eat together."

"What about Shota-kun?" Chigusa asks. My mom shakes her head.

"That's alright. Shota-kun already ate his snack. Why don't you two eat first?"

"What about you, mom? Aren't you eating with us?"

"No. I need to unpack my stuff first. I'll come back later, okay?" she said. Chigusa and I take a seat at the dining table. Mom's making curry rice, potato salad with typical japanese side salad today. I wonder if the beauty of our class would eat a homecook meal from my home. 

To my surprise, Chigusa only look at my mom's cooking in awe.

"Chigusa-san? Are you okay?" I asked. She turn at me like I had caught her admiring something.

"Hmm? Oh, yeah. I'm fine. It's just... it's been a while since I see food as much as this." she said. I swear I can see a little tears forming at the corner of her eyes.

"I see. Well, my mom's curry rice is the best. Please, have a taste." I invited her. She quickly nodded her head. Chigusa finishes her meal so quickly that in no time, I found myself inviting her for a second. She seem to be jumpy of the idea, but stopped mid-way.

“No, thank you. But, that's enough. I have to stop now."

"Why?"

"I... well... you wouldn't understand, Miyamura-san. Still, I want to thank you for inviting me to have dinner with your family. I really appreciate it."

"You're welcome. Are you sure you don't want a second?"

"No, thank you."

"LIAR!!!" Shota suddenly shout out. Chigusa and I immediately turned to look at him.

"Shota! What are you on about? Apologize to Chigusa-san right now!" I barked. Shouta stick out his tongue at me. Then, he suddenly jumped on Chigusa's lap. His action put Chigusa in a surprise. Meanwhile, I'm biting my lips and suppressing my anger.

This little brat....

"You don't wanna have second because of the size of your breast. Isn't that right, big sis?" he ask with devilish smile. 

Chigusa face immediately turns red.

"What? Why... no. Of course not!" Chigusa cries. Shouta raise one of his finger and slowly poke Chigusa bosom. If I'm at school, I probably would die from embarassment now. 

PAKK!!! Another smack on Shouta's head. Now that ought to do it!

"Ouch! That hurts, idiot!" he shouted at me. 

"Serves you right.  Do you even know who you're talking to?"

"Who? Your girlfriend? I hardly doubt it." Shota mocks me. This kid. He just know where to twist the knife, isn't he? If only he knew what happened at school earlier.

"So what if she is?" I replied nonchalantly. Shota have suddenly turned quiet.

"Big chested sister, is this true? Are you into my big brother? Is this for real?"

Chigusa pause for a bit. Then, she slowly nodded her head.

"Yes. I think know. No, I really like him."

Shota and I look at Chigusa for the longest time. The words that coming out from her mouth feels unreal at times. I wonder if she really meant it.

"Nah, I don't believe you.  Big sister is lying isn't she? Did my brother blackmail you or something?"

"I did nothing of the sorts." I replied bitterly. If only Shota's know that the situation is actually reversed. But of course, no trial or anything - I just get the blame.

"What should I do to prove it to you Shota-kun that your brother and I are dating?" Chigusa ask pretty innocently. Shota sit still on her laps for a couple of minutes. Then, he tell her;

"What about the two of you kiss?"

"WHAT????" we shouts in unison. Shota smiles.

"Shota, you're out the line. Go away if you wanna talk nonsense and get off from Chigusa-san."

"No way. I'm comfortable up here. Right, big-chested sister? It wouldn't be that hard, isn't? Even I did it with a girl from my class just a few days ago." Shota added.

"Shota-kun, you kiss a girl? At your age? But, you're only eight."

"I'm eight and a half! Besides, we're only doing it for fun."

"What did you say? For fun? Who's brother are you?" I pretend to crack on my knuckles. Shota begin to laugh nervously.

"Kidding!!! I'm only kidding. You two don't have to kiss, if you don't want too." Shota said before jumping out from Chigusa. 

Chigusa is still silent.

"Chigusa-san?" I said. She slowly turned to me.

"What is it?" I asks. She shakes her head. I know something must've been bothering her. She looks quite sullen.

"Is it about the kiss? Just ignore Shota. The kid didn't know what he's saying." I added. 

"I know. But that make me a little sad, Miyamura-kun."

"Why?"

"Because... I want to be kissed by you."

"Err... what???"
