Chapter 0:

Prologue

Imagine that one day, a person emerged from the milieu and approached you with one simple question in mind.

What if life has no meaning?

Any sane person would immediately retort with a declaration filled with individualistic and rationally sound prose. However, such a simple question can bare an infinitely deep chasm wherein both nothing and everything resides. After all, it’s not as easy as asking if the sun will rise again tomorrow.

That much is certain.

A person born of misery who suffered until their untimely death would be glad to state that life was of no value to them. There is no right or wrong answer. In the end, it’s all a matter of perspective.

So why bother?

Another simple question of indefinite fathom can be beyond the realm of logic. Great men and women have dedicated their entire lives and perished from trying to answer this very question. Many of them arrived at different conclusions — love, power, justice and faith.

Again, there is no right or wrong answer.

Now, an argument can be made about whether or not humanity as a whole has a purpose in the greater scheme of things. However, collective thought is something that is not granted but gained. Only through an abundance of experiences can we truly evaluate our self worth.

When will it all end?

Such a question could be left unanswered for all of eternity. The concept that things have an end is a consequence of time and time, for us, is too nuanced to fully grasp. It can provide a sense of comfort to many, but it’s difficult to accept our mortality. Others can call it a trick played on us by the gods or perhaps, it is our overarching attribute.

It is what makes each and every one of us surely and uniquely human.
