Spring is my favorite time of year...

Partially because of how lively everything seems, along with the blossoms beginning to bloom...

But mainly it is because of the Spring Festival.

"Yuki! Have you filled your basket with strawberries yet?" my mom yelled to me.

"Almost! Just a few more..." I yelled back.

I picked my last few berries and rushed back to our hut. My older sister, Akari, and my mother had collected apples and water as well.

The spring festival was celebrated annually for the beginning of new life. Everyone gathered the newly born fruits to offer to Lady Sakura, the village goddess.

"Gather the fruits! It's time!" my mom yelled suddenly.

And so, it was time for the festival to finally begin.
