Chapter 11:

Meeting the Goddess

The White Fragment

Where am I? That was the first thing I said when I'm in another unfamiliar place again, yet somehow, it's very familiar.

The place I mentioned was in the school hallway, and very futuristic too. What I mean futuristic is there're... A.I things, hologram, and many things. Every technology in there is too fast forward which made me hard to understood it.

It might be another dream, or past memories, about Yumeha, but I'm in my own body instead of hers. Well, time to search around this school, but I stopped my plan when I saw a certain student.

I was shocked when that students shares great physical similarities as my old self, like hair colors, height, anything. But I can't see her eyes. Right now she's talking with another student with long green hair styled in side ponytail.

Not only that girl, Annette's future self also shares similar physical traits as me, except her hair and eye colors. Was it coincidence for the three of us to have similar physical traits, or someone pulled the strings for that?

No need to think about that. Right now, lets listen to what they said.

"Yumeha-senpai, I've scored the highest in the last exam for my class."

Just as I thought, that girl actually Yumeha.

"Congratulation, Midori-san. I knew you can do it."

"But it's thanks to you for tutoring me, senpai. Without you, I might bombed my score like always."

So Yumeha helped that Midori girl with her test. She might be very kind. But still, this dream, or whatever it is, didn't show what kind of person Yumeha is.

"So, what's their reaction, Midori-san?"

Reaction? Who?

"They were flaggerbasted when they found out my score, with some of them already stopped."

"It's good. Bullies are nothing but the weakest chains who thinks they are the strongest."

Midori-san has been bullied? But, what's make her being bullied? Was it her grades?

Aside from that, what Yumeha said seems... relatable. I mean, she seems really hate bullying a lot, and I'm sure she's not punishing them way too far like I did.

"D-Don't say that, Yumeha-senpai. What if they started to target you?"

"Then come. I've got every blackmail material for them. And I don't mind to destroy their social life again."

What Yumeha said reminded me of my darkest memories in my past life, but unlike me, she has no regret at all.

No, I mustn't think about that. Stay focus.

"Ruthless as always. But you need to stop it senpai, or your sister will be mad at you again."

So Midori-san also knew about her sister too. I guess she's quite a famous scientist.

"Okay, okay. As promised since you scored high, I'll treat you to the cake buffet."

She gave her a ticket, which I assume for the buffet.

"Yay! Thank you, Yumeha-senpai."

Midori-san then took the ticket and left Yumeha-senpai with happy expression on her face. Yumeha who watched her only smiled slightly.

After that, Yumeha turned her gaze to me and smiled.

Wait... did she just... smiled at me? If yes, what kind of dream it is?!

Then she said something to me.

"Nice memory right, Yumeha."

What did she call me?

Before I could reply, I feel her touching my forehead with her index finger. I heard her muttering about 'complete' when she do that. Then everything went dark.

xxxxx

"...pai. Senpai."

Someone shook me while calling this senpai person. I might be awaken from that weird dream.

Well, better get up and help mom and nee-san now, except I'm in nowhere now. And a strange girl hug me after I awake.

She wore a sleeveless green dress with a slit on the left reaching her thigh, exposing it. She has a lime green hair tied in ponytail and a flower ornament decorating her hair.

"I'm glad you wake up, senpai."

So that senpai person refer to me?

I stood up after she releases the hug and looked at my surrounding. I couldn't help but amazed at the sight.

It's so beautiful. The greenery, fountain, and the sculpting, it's like I was in heaven. I try to pinch my cheek if I'm dreaming.

It doesn't hurt at all. It really is a dream.

Then I heard the girl giggled at me.

"Even though you've become a different person, you're still the same senpai I know. "

I still didn't know why she called me senpai. I wanted to ask her about it, but she cut me out.

"Do you like this place, senpai?"

As much as I like this place, it's getting annoying when someone I didn't know called me senpai. So I decided to ask her.

"It's beautiful. But who are you? What is this place? And why are you calling me senpai?"

The girl only chuckled, then answered my questions.

"I guess you don't remember me because of cycle of rebirth."

As much as I want to ask her about 'cycle of reincarnation', I choose not to pry and let her continue.

"I used to be a human named Kazegami Midori. But now, I'm Viento the Wind Goddess. This place is my realm, and I connected it to your dream. As for why I call you senpai, it's because I started to remember about my past self the time you were reborn, Yumeha-senpai."

She's the Wind Goddess! And she used to be a human?! Her name also seems Japanese. Was she an otherworlder? Or that Midori girl from that dream?

But there's one thing I find weird. While being called Yumeha feels weird since my previous name is Yuko, it's the part when she said that I was reborn.

I've just transmigrated to Excelia as Annette a week ago, but why she said since I was reborn? Could it be... since Annette was born? Possibly, since we share the same faces.

If Annette still alive, I can ask her about it. But her soul already gone for good after leaving me with fragmented memories of her previous lives.

"What's the matter, Yumeha-senpai?"

Looks like I made her concerned. I need to ease her concern and ask her questions one-by-one.

"It's nothing. Also, can you tell me my full name."

"It's Shirokami Yumeha."

Shirokami Yumeha... That name is so meaningful than my own. But I need to correct her.

"But Viento-sama, I'm actually someone from Earth called Yoshikawa Yuko."

When I said that, she only nodded.

"I know."

"Then-"

"But you share the same traits as Yumeha-senpai. And I couldn't help but called you that after you've been transmigrated."

What? Me and Yumeha share the same traits? On what?

I still don't know much about Yumeha, but if I'm Shirokami Yumeha, was my life as Yoshikawa Yuko a lie?

I decided to ask Viento about it.

"Was my life in Earth fake?"

"No, it's real. Although you always spice the most of your life, making everyone in your school believe that you're an average high school student."

When she gave me a deadpan stare, I couldn't help but chuckled. She realized about my true life in Earth. Looks like I don't need to hide it on her when she started to ask it.

I remember what Lydia said about the treaty on verge to be broken. When I was about to ask about it, she answered it earlier.

"If you wanted to ask about the treaty, it's true. That ungrateful Lumina, why is she wanted to destroy every living beings, except humans?"

Viento grumbled in irritation.

Even though the trope 'light is evil' used many times, but I still wonder, why the Light Goddess wanted eradicate the other races? If it's about to show that humans are superior race like what Flint-san said, then she seeks perfections.

Before I ask her more, I see my body started to fade.

"Looks like I have reached the time limit."

Time limit? But there's a lot of question I want to ask you, including my own origin because you mentioned Yumeha?

She only smiled sadly and started to walk to me.

"I know you have a lot of questions, and I also know you grumbled about doesn't have a cheat skills like the otherworlders or Aria the reincarnator from earth..."

She heard my complain?! Ugh... I feel bad about it.

And wait... Aria is a reincarnator?! Now my supicions about her has been answered. But why is her level got limited too?

Then I felt Viento touched my forehead with her finger and continued what she said.

"...So I decided to give you something even better than cheat skills."

After she released her finger from my forehead, she nodded in satisfaction.

"With this, the barrier has been lifted."

What barrier she's talking about?

Before my visions fade, I heard she said something to me.

"Until next time, Yumeha-senpai."

xxxxx

I woke up from my bed after my meeting with the Wind Goddess from the dream.

Even though it was a dream, it felt so real. And I'm still questioning about the barrier she's talking about. Was it a mental barrier? Or something else?

I guess I'm going to find out about it sooner or later.

Before I meet Viento in my dream, I also dreamed about that futuristic school. And I've seen Yumeha and Viento's past self, Midori. But it's more like a future for me.

No need to think about it. Only six days left. I need to get stronger to protect my family before that disaster.

[Yeah, don't waste the time, Yuko-nee-san.]

What? Who said that?

[Inside your mind.]

My mind?

Then I heard the voice inside my mind sighed.

[Looks like I have to stick with you until the end.]

Wait... Don't tell me... You're...

Annette?!
