Article 2: Have you seen the new episode of ‘Creatures’?

At first I did not want to watch this show. I am not typically interested in action, and the story sounded like everything that has been done before. Since I was bored, I decided to check out the new buzz. I was surprised. How can such a cliche story with a small budget get such high production quality? This drama is just too captivating. Or should I say, the production is?

Sinham, played by Shihan, is the protagonist of the story. He was a normal white collar in a normal world, until the Creatures came. Then, he discovers his ability to manipulate the Creatures, and fight back for the sake of his world.

The new episode of Creatures features Sinham encountering his first Creature in the wild. These Creatures are beige coloured blobs, always ready to attack humans.

The shot that has become the talk of the town is today’s topic.

It was composed with the opposing monster approaching from the left with a group of hikers on the lower right, swirling around the protagonist. The protagonist naturally summons his monster further to the right on the screen.

You would think with this budget, the quality would be your typical, jarring to the eyes CGI. However, there was no CGI. It doesn’t seem so at least.

This may be due to the acting prowess of the rookie actor, so effortlessly making a gesture at the perfect timing and form to call on a monster.

The people working on the set sent pictures. Even the team was confused as to how the director got such realistic monsters. The director said that the actor team, in particular Shihan, provided the creatures, not him. When asked, Shihan simply smiled his sweet smile, and said it was a ‘trade secret’.

According to one of the writers of the show, the monsters were originally meant to have variety, like your typical monster show. It seems they changed it after casting.
