Chapter 7:

I want to know more about you. Part 2

After all, I think I feel a bit lonely

After walking for a little bit, we arrive at the local she was taking me on, it was a small place, ones we enter the local was decorated and made traditionally, the floor was made of tatami, so I need to take my shoes off, there were no chairs, only large tables to sit beside them.

We sit down in one and wait for the waitress to take the order, I ask for okonomiyaki and miso soup. Himeno-san asks for sushi and gyozas. And both of us ordered green tea.

—I want to try this place. I discovered it a few weeks ago but I couldn’t come until now. It really gives off vibes like you’re at home, doesn't it?

—Yeah, it really does, it is ok to be more traditional from time to time.

—Do you have a favorite era, Ryoma-kun?

—Eh? Are you asking me that? Uh… let me think…

—Mines are from the Heian era. I think I love the art, and all that came from there, the music, the literature and the art.

—Mine could be the Kamakura era. I'm a big fan of the samurai and the warrior code. I think it is really cool. I try to adapt myself to think in the same way and follow the path of bushido, but I have a lot to work on.

—You should work on getting better at not be so nervous, you already are calm and hardworker.

—Oh, really? —I laugh a bit and scratch my cheek as they get a little red—. Thanks

The food arrives after a few minutes and we start eating. I shared a bit of my okonomiyaki with Himeno-san and she gave me one gyoza and one roll of sushi. We finished eating and we drank the tea in peace. The place had good sound insulation, so all we could hear was some sounds from the outside, the chef and the waitress working and the water flowing in the fishbowl.

We went outside once we finished, looked at my watch and there was still plenty of time, Himeno-san was stretching a little.

—We should go to the station, the next stop, the electronics shop.

—Sure

Ones we arrive at the station, we could see a long line waiting as well, the train took a few minute before arriving at the station, and ones we enter, we were getting cramped it by the multitude of people, I took Himeno-san in front of me, pushing her to the wall. I was making sure that nobody got close to her.

—Aren’t you a little overprotective?

—I am not going to let something happen to you.

Himeno-san laughed while holding her hand in her mouth. I was getting pushed until one made me get really close to Himeno-san. She looked at me smiling, I was getting nervous on a tremendous scale that I thought I was about to start sweating. The train finally stopped after a few minutes, when I ran out of there and I caught my breath besides the stairs as she was laughing.

We took our time to see what was on the streets, we bought some crêpes on the way to the electronic store.

—You sure like chocolate

—It tastes so sweet… want a bite?

—Eh? No… well… if you let me.

I took a bite of the side that she hadn't bitten and tasted the crêpe as I whipped the cream of my lips with my tongue.

—It sure is very sweet

The crêpe of Himeno-san was made of dough made with chocolate, and the bananas had chocolate syrup. I move my hand offering a bite of my crêpe to Himeno-san. Mine was a simpler one, the dough was made as usual, it had some strawberries and a lot of cream. She gives it a bite near the soon I bite it first.

—It's a gentle flavor. You don't experience a sugar rush I imagine.

—Sometimes I eat things that sweat but I think my stomach will not accept it very well.

Once we finished our crêpes we finally arrived at the electronic store.

—Do you come here often?

—Sometimes, usually I go to see parts of computers or videogames on sale. What about you?

—I usually search for products for the house or devices for my smartphone.

—You don’t play videogames by any chance?

—Not really, I play them sometimes but, I’m not a big fan of it, and I only play comfy games.

—Like farm simulators?

—Yeah, but I try some role-playing games sometimes.

—Oh yeah, they had a very interesting story.

—Yes! Usually, the people who play videogames tell something different.

—They just don’t give them a try or two, but it’s not for everybody…

—Is something wrong? You stop talking.

—You play fighting games, now I remember, you beat my ass at the arcade.

—Ah, that, yeah I forgot about it.

We went to the videogame store first; we were looking at consoles and games.

—How did you become that good? I didn’t even have a chance.

—My father teaches me to play them, it’s more like general knowledge, once I pick a fighting game I adapt quickly to them.

—That’s incredible, you think you could teach me.

—Sure, let’s make that our next date

—Awesome!

I was smiling a lot and turned my face to her.

—Y-You say date?

—Isn’t this one a date?

—Ah… I mean…

—Was I the only one who thought of that?

She was making a sad expression as she was lowering her head.

—No! No, this is a date!

—I know —she quickly returns to her usual smile—. I’m just messing with you

She touches my nose as she stands up from being on her knees.

—Jeez…

We went to the smartphone section.

—I usually don’t give a lot of attention to my phone.

—You should, Ryoma-kun, after all nowadays you can do all the things with your phone

—Yeah, but I could do it on my computer anyway.

—Oh, you want to start that debate?

—I’m open to.

We were seeing a lot of phones as she was explaining many things about the phone’s processor, camera, storage and potential.

—This is a lot…

—Hum… phones are not only to stay on them all day, there are some apps that only work here at it’s more useful as you think.

—Well, better listen to the professional, you work at repairing electronics after all.

—You remember.

—Yeah, maybe you can help me with something, Himeno-san.

—Sure

Now we went to buy some computer parts, we were seeing different items on sale as she was thinking about holding her chin.

—I don’t know which one will be better.

—Do you use it for other stuff other than playing videogames?

—Yeah, I edit videos from random people, it makes a good extra income, but sometimes I feel that is killing my pc.

—Yeah, the stuff that you have is a little old, try using a better graphic card and maybe a faster ram, like those.

—The prices are a little high…

—Keep that in mind, this is the highest I ever saw but it usually goes on sale.

—Alright, thank you, Himeno-san

—My pleasure

We left the electronic store with some videogames and a new phone case.

—That was some lecture, I don’t know if I can keep up with all that

—I’m always updated with info so don’t worry; I will refresh your memory if you want.

—Hehe, thanks.

—By the way, is this game really easy for beginners?

—Oh yeah, if you get lost in something I can help you, just send me a message.

—Thank you, Ryoma-kun.

We went to send on a bench and saw how the sky was turning orange.

—We really spend a lot of time there.

—I think I overextend my lecture

—Nah, it’s ok, I enjoy the information you gave me.

—I’m glad.

—We should move to the station before it gets darker

We took our way to the station, this time it was just a few people in there, we sit down next to each other.

—Ryoma-kun

—Yeah?

—I had fun today… I really thank you for that…

—Mmmh? I should be the one saying that, thanks for accepting to go on a date with me. I didn’t pay attention to my surroundings that time, I’m sorry.

—You really caught me off guard, but it is ok, I don’t usually go out with a lot of people due to my work sometimes gets me working and I feel exhausted the entire week, but this time I feel different.

—I’m happy to hear that, Himeno-san.

Himeno smiled at me but I noticed something odd, she was doing a sad expression too, the rest of the trip we went silent until she said goodbye at her stop.

I arrived at my home a little late, but I didn’t receive any messages so I entered at my peace, before getting downstairs to eat, I jumped to my bed and put my face in my pillow.

—Today was really fun…
