Chapter 187:

Park Inside Of a Park Inside Of a

Museworld

Simultaneously the park’s largest and smallest area, the recent addition of Virtual Fantasy was a unique one to be sure. While just a small lot of warehouses on the outside, it was actually a virtual reality expanse that almost doubled the size of the metropolis on top of the already huge city and its sprawling underground layer of passageways.

Before they could look for seating, another staff member came up to them just as the first left, this one carrying a lot of luggage.

“Are you currently participating in Kidney’s Moon Token game?”

“Y-yes.”

“Put your earnings in here, please. We will distribute them to your virtual character and pay out whatever you earn when you leave… or subtract what you lose, in the worst case.”

“…” Frankie was hesitant, but Katie understood, happily handing over their bag to the man.

The sisters found their seats eventually, Frankie insisting they get two side-by-side. She was a little scared of the VR helmet, but her partner seemed excited.

“Wait! Before we go in, shouldn’t you check your phone?”

“Right!” Frankie drew her device. In time, she found her new mail:

To Frankie, and, by extension Katie Pop:

Firstly, I most sincerely thank you for participating in my tournament. I hope you enjoy whichever part of the park it is you visit next.

As of yesterday, your identities were connected to the great disaster in Venge City on the 15th. To be blunt, I know what you did, and Bozo does too.

However, you have competed splendidly in my game.

If you are one of the top three winners, I will see to it that any and all charges against you are forever dropped. A clean record. No more fear. Not of being arrested, at least.

Of course, if you do not succeed, even if you land in fourth but a single token behind a competitor- you will be swiftly sent to court. I will pay for Bozo’s legal team.

I have watched your exploits. They are enjoyable. Please continue.

Do understand that, if this message is ever leaked in any way, my tone might change. I’ve erased a lot of things- not just lineart. Don’t make me do it again.

With Joy,

Walter Roscoe Kidney

“N-now I’m just more scared…” Frankie tried not to drop the phone.

“This is great! Don’t worry.” Her sibling took her hand. “Just keep doing what we’re doing. Let’s see what this virtual world has to offer!”

“O-okay…”

Frankie sat in her seat and gulped, slowly pulling the machine over her head as it whirred, the senses in her worldly body fading…
