Chapter 3 to decide my destiny

Hiroshi felt like a light cloud was snuggling around him as he awoke, all there was around him was white no difference in any of his surroundings just white, his eyes twinkled as a strange non human like figure appeared before him shortly off in the distance, he felt like he couldn’t speak as he stood, his vision flickering in and out of focus as he approached the figure.

Its back was turned to him as he got closer in the white space that seemingly glowed, at a couple if meters away as if his body wouldn’t allow him closer as the figure turned, before him the figure held out his right hand with a warm welcoming smile and half closed cat like eyes that were like liquid gold, on a closer look the figure had red and gold eye makeup and facial markings, its hair snow white with the odd strands of red and gold matching its garb, as hiroshis eyes glanced down he saw the figure under there clothing was not wearing shoes but did have golden ankle bracelets with bells on the ends, they looked like a heavenly being not a human. The creatures skin was very pale its hair draped over his shoulders its clothes red, white, gold and teal, on a closer look behind the being was 9 soft white fox tails and on its head the same soft looking fur but coating a pair of fox like ears.

The being mist likely a kitsuné began to speak snapping hiroshi out of his trance of staring at it. “Have you finished looking my child?” It asked its voice soft and comforting but it was definitely a male voice, “you have a decision to make now, you can take my hand here and I’ll escort you to the afterlife, or alternatively you can stay a while longer in the world if the living” the being cocked his head to the side closing his eyes arm still outstretched towards hiroshi, it seemed the being expected him to grab the hand and join him.

Hiroshi felt small in-front of the creature his voice stuttered and was quiet as he spoke “w-who are you? W- where am i? Afterlife? Im not dead- am i?” Many thoughts crossed his mind as the being spoke once more.

“Im nui a kitsuné my duty is to escort lost souls such as you to where you belong, currently you in between life and death as your physical body has been put of life support, so you aren’t dead just yet but if you remain life will become much more difficult for you once you go back, alternatively you can come with me and wait for your loved ones to join you, after all i dont think they expect you around to much longer that crash was horrific!” The kitsuné spoke with a sympathetic voice which almost broke on his last words as Hiroshi thought before he spoke.

“W- what do you mean it was horrific?” He said slightly louder worry stricken on his face “h-how long have i been gone?” The panic becoming more frantic as he began to stress just for nui to speak up again.

Nui approached placed a hand on his shoulder, then tilting up hiroshis head using his right hand to waft a shimmering view of the day the accident occurred, “let me show you my dear, and for your second question that depends on how long till you decide” nui commented with a caring tone trying to calm hiroshi down who was still panic stricken, the screen before them started to play everything out slowly from when aya hit the ground just before the car his hiroshi.

As the car hit its mark, hiroshi was sucked underneath the vehicle which after going over him went into a lamp post with the air bags going off, hiroshi laying there sprawled out blood seeping onto the ground as aya rushed over his classic warm smile plastered on his face, she immediately began to cry as she spoke while the sirens rang in the distance after a passer by called the emergency services.

“Hiro! Please wake up!” Aya cried her makeup smudging down her face as the police pulled up and began marking off the scene, her hair was a mess uniform tattered, “please wake up!” She yelled panic written all over her face as she wailed. 

Nui then spoke up again “horrible isn’t it you a young boy with so much like to live, pushed your girlfriend out the way to save her, but taking the brunt of the impact yourself instead, honestly you are a sweet kid anyone would be so pleased with a partner like you that would risk everything for them” his voice still calm and welcoming like the warm summer sun as he changed the scene before them. “This is what’s going on now if you want to return”

The new scene began to play of Hiroshi unconscious in a hospital bed still with his un wavering smile, the heart monitor occasionally beeping as his little sister’s stared at him from his left side and his parents from the right, shame written on his parents faces and worry on his twin sisters faces, not a tear was shed as his parents spoke there voices not heard through the screen as hiroshi stood there with nui horrified to what he saw as the screen dissolved into the white of the empty place again.

Nui turned back to hiroshi his right arm outstretched again “have you made your decision? Are you going to allow me to accommodate you towards your afterlife or would you like to return to the land if the living?” Nui spoke with the same warm tone that he had kept this whole time.

Hiroshi remained silent for a minute as he thought’i have so much left to do, so much to say, people i want to make proud, í future i wish to fulfil, I shouldn't leave it here.” He thought turning to nui who’s expression softened.

“I’ve decided to stay alive, because no matter how difficult it may become, i have people to care for and a future to buld, i want to be remembered for my own actions and beliefs, I want those who i love to remember me, i don't want to be remembered by random people as that kid who died because of a car, but i do ask will I remember this?” Hiroshi stated firmly with a hint of curiosity, in response nui shook his head.

“You will only remember your won thoughts on this decision and me faintly most of this conversation will be forgotten, but when your time comes i will be her to welcome you warmly, i wish you the best for your life, i hipe that the difficulties you face you face head on and do not give up on yourself!, these words you will remember so please take them to heart” nui said as they faded away and the room shattered returning to black, Hiroshi suddenly felt like he was falling.

Suddenly he jolted waking up his body bolting forward for him to look around just to see his parents with a plug in there hands looking shocked, they had pulled out his life support-
