The dark mage.

"The exiled prince."

I was so fused as to see a story instead of an instruction to use mana or magic power.

I noticed something in the text. If I add the paragraph name's first letter. It spells "Upside down".

I turned the book upside down. I saw some familiar letters in the story. It was some kind of chant. 

As I chanted, the words in the book started to rearrange themselves and formed a map. It was the map of the library. It told me to go to a place a never seen before. I went there and followed the instructions in the book.

It was a secret place. A hidden department in the royal library. I went down beneath to see a very large bookshelf in front of me filled with various books.

There was a table placed in front of the bookshelf. It had a book in it. I read it and found out the guy who wrote the book was one of my ancestors. He was like me and couldn't use any power. He researched it his whole life and found out the reasons.

"The simplest reason for not being able to use light magic is your affinity. Anyone can use magic that matches their affinity. But some can't use specific types of magic. The reason is that their affinity is the opposite of the magic they want to use. For example, a person with fire affinity can't use water magic. And if you're the same as me. Then you can't use holy magic, right? It's because your affinity is dark element.

It's an element only demons have. But sometimes humans mutate to be able to use dark magic. You would've heard this for the first time. It's simple, light is associated with holiness/goodness and life. Like that, dark is associated with demons, evil/death.

In older times, anyone born with dark affinity was burned. So no one lived long enough to become a dark mage or develop. Dark magic spells other than demons.

I was the only one who was able to hide it and live.
