Chapter 16:

Awakening of Elva

Silent Shards

The purple soaring slimes descended upon us with lethal intent, a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions churned in my head. The Sylphalope rested, leaving me devoid of my usual powers and abilities. In this critical moment, my reliance fell upon Piro, the one person I could trust to stand alongside me. However, her arrogance remained unabated, fueled by frustration stemming from her previous warnings, which we had failed to comprehend.

Among the group, Fiona appeared visibly exhausted, the weight of her recent actions taking a toll on her. Kael, driven by a mix of remorse and a desire to protect Elysia, struggled to reach her amidst the chaos. There was something different about Elysia herself, a newfound strength emanating from her gentle spirit.

Just as I tried to gather my thoughts and formulate a plan to confront the Slime King and its minions, a commanding voice boomed from above. It was the Slime King, issuing a chilling order to its loyal soaring slimes: "Go, my loyal soaring slimes. Capture those trespassers and bring them to my mouth."

The urgency of the situation propelled me into action. Despite the absence of my usual powers, I knew we couldn't afford to stand idly by. The soaring slimes, their gelatinous bodies pulsating with malevolence, darted towards us, their movements agile and unpredictable.

With determination coursing through my veins, I turned to Piro, the fire of determination burning in my eyes. "Piro, we have to find a way to neutralize these soaring slimes and confront the Slime King," I urged, my voice resolute. “Lives are at stake."

Piro's arrogance wavered for a moment as she locked eyes with me, sensing the urgency in my words. The weight of her previous warnings hung heavy in the air, a reminder of our foolish disregard. Swallowing her pride, she nodded, her face etched with determination. "You're right," she admitted, her voice tinged with newfound humility. "We need to work together and find a way to overcome this threat. But not us. It has to be someone else."

Once again, the situation grew increasingly complicated as Piro's words added to the confusion. I furrowed my brow and asked, "What do you mean by 'not us'? Then else who" But Piro remained silent.

Thus, amidst this the hovering gelatinous slimes were just above of, uncertain of what was happening. Then Piro gave a hint of bit and told to say patience, “Just Stay Patience and it’s coming.”

Just then, a voice reverberated through the air, its sound intertwining with the gentle sprinkle of rain, piercing through the slimes and even the entangled grips that held us captive. “Senteur of Release”

A sense of relief washed over us as we found ourselves suddenly released, yet we were left wondering who had orchestrated our liberation and how it had been achieved. As we scanned the area, a startling revelation came into focus, both shocking and strangely soothing.

Elysia's form underwent a remarkable transformation before our eyes. Her ears grew slightly longer, and her appearance took on an ethereal quality. Clad in a resplendent gown befitting a pure-hearted maiden, she emanated an aura of otherworldly power.

Gathering together, the four of us couldn't help but be concerned about the changes we witnessed. Kael, filled with worry, voiced his question, "What's happening to my Elysia?"

Piro, not one to mince words, answered, "She has awakened it."

Confusion still gripped me, and I sought a clearer explanation. However, it was Fiona, Elysia's friend and the one well-versed in the legends of the Elves, who stepped forward with an answer. Her voice carried a hint of authority as she revealed, "That's Elva—the spiritual orb that resides within an Elf. When an Elf overcomes a specific emotion, Elva awakens, bestowing tremendous power upon them."

Seeking further clarification, I pressed on, "Which emotions had Elysia been holding back?"

Kael, who seemed to possess a deeper understanding of Elysia's inner struggles, replied, "If I'm not mistaken, it's guilt and an unwavering resolve to make amends."

Fiona nodded in agreement, her voice tinged with certainty, "Yes, I believe so."

Piro, ever the embodiment of arrogance, interjected dismissively, "Enough with the questions. Behold the scene, you foolant."

And so, we stood there, witnessing the awe-inspiring display of Elysia's newfound power. Once timid, scared, and burdened by overwhelming emotions, she had undergone a remarkable metamorphosis. It seemed that this precise moment and location had been destined for her awakening.

As if in response to her inner transformation, the surrounding gloom, sourness, and negativity underwent a dramatic shift. The obsidian slimes, once malevolent and foreboding, transformed into vibrant azure hues and retreated back into the protective embrace of the bushes.

With grace and purpose, Elysia drew forth a fan reminiscent of the resplendent tails of a peacock. The swift movements of her hand and the unleashed power within each flick confronted the formidable Slime King. Although momentarily taken aback, he remained resolute, refusing to be defeated by her display of strength.

A fierce battle ensued between Elysia and the Slime King. Each move, each strike, was a clash of power and will. Elysia's newfound abilities, enhanced by the awakened Elva, proved to be a formidable force against the ancient power the Slime King possessed.

But the Slime King was cunning and relentless. He unleashed a foreboding aura that radiated from his entire body, tapping into a dormant power that seemed ancient and malevolent. Elysia fought valiantly, but the strain of the battle took its toll, leaving her drained and on the verge of collapse.

Setting aside her pride and arrogance, Piro, with a rare display of compassion, swiftly flew to catch Elysia, ensuring her safe descent to the ground.

As the battle concluded, Kael and Fiona approached, gratitude etched on their faces. "Thank you," Kael said, his voice filled with genuine appreciation. "Both of you have been instrumental in helping us survive this ordeal."

Fiona nodded in agreement. "We couldn't have made it without your guidance and support. We owe you a great debt."

With Elysia still unconscious, Kael made the decision to return to her hometown, recognizing that it might be the only place where she could truly heal. Fiona suggested that the familiarity and comfort of her homeland would aid in her recovery. And so, they left me and Piro, embarking on their journey to Elysia's hometown.

Once again, Piro and I were alone, standing amidst the aftermath of the battle. I turned to her, a mixture of gratitude and curiosity in my eyes. "So I guess you granted me the wish of tagging along and guiding," I said, a hint of playfulness in my voice.

Piro's gaze softened as she came closer. "Look, Foolant. Don't get the wrong idea," she said, her voice tinged with a touch of warmth. "You may be reckless at times, but you've proven yourself worthy. And... I suppose I can tolerate your company for a little longer."

A smile tugged at the corners of my lips as we squared off, ready to facewhatever lay ahead. Together, we would continue our journey, navigating the challenges that awaited us.
