Amusement Park Date with Yandere

Summer break starts today. Usually, I'd be lazing around all day on this first day of freedom. But this time is different because today I will have a date with my girlfriend.

After checking my appearance in front of a mirror for the last time, I walked out of my room and headed downstairs. I opened the door to the living room and found my sister lying on the couch reading a magazine.

When she saw me, her jaw dropped while showing an expression as if she had seen a ghost.

"What's this?! Aren't you off starting today?"

"I am."

"Then why are you dressing up like that? Are you heading out?"

"Uh-huh."

"Where?"

"Amusement park."

My sister kept asking me questions while I answered nonchalantly. I walked to the dining table and found food wrapped on it.

"Where is mom?"

"Went to the market."

"And dad?"

"Work, obviously."

I felt that the house was very quiet and turned out that was the reason, there were only the two of us here.

My family never imposed restrictive rules. As long as we don't break the rules or norms, our parents let us do anything. Therefore, I never get scolded even if I stay up late playing games or reading novels, as long as it's a day off. 

And it's common knowledge in this house that I won't be leaving my room on the first day of summer break until noon. Hence, my mother often left food for me this way.

"....What?"

I was annoyed by my sister's gaze which kept glued to me.

"No, it's just still hard for me to believe that I got to see you this morning. I started to wonder if this is a sign of bad luck or good luck. Should I buy the lottery today?"

I completely ignored my sister who started babbling incoherently. I finished my breakfast, washed the dishes, then left the house.

"I'm off then."

"Take care!"

I opened the front door and walked out. From my house, I go to the nearby station and ride a train to the meeting place. 

After about thirty minutes, I got off the train and walked toward the shopping district. We were supposed to meet up at a cafe near the amusement park.

I checked my phone and saw that there was still half an hour until the meeting time. But if it's Tsukinaga-san, she must have come much earlier. 

At first, I wanted to come an hour earlier. But I didn't want to seem like I was looking forward to our date too much. Besides, there's no way she would come that fast. So I think half an hour is the right time.

When I get close to the appointment place, I see a familiar face.

"Tsukinaga-san!"

"Oh, Minamoto-kun. Good morning."

"How long have you been waiting? There's still plenty of time before our meeting time."

"Don't worry, I just arrived."

I was about to say something, but my words got stuck in my throat when I realized how gorgeous Tsukinaga-san is today.

She wears a black blazer with red trim combined with a dark turtleneck sweater. Underneath, she wears long black pants that show off her slender legs. 

Her outfit is pretty simple, but it made her look very mature. Her calm and collected aura makes her seem even less like your average high school girl. The combination of cuteness and coolness, it is very destructive.

Being able to see this beauty right before my eyes makes me grateful to have been born. What's more, this beautiful girl is my girlfriend.

Kuh! I'm happy to still be alive today.

"What's wrong, Minamoto-kun?"

Tsukinaga-san asked me as I turned my face to the side in emotion.

"Nothing. It's just that you're too beautiful today that makes me lose control of myself for a second."

"Mou~ Why are you always saying something embarrassing casually?"

Tsukinaga-san scolded me even though I praised her. Even so, I could see her cheeks flushed up to her ears.

"Tsundere detected."

"Wha— I'm not being tsundere!"

I blurted something out of my mind. As a result, I got scolded for the second time today. Nevertheless, I don't mind it at all. As long as I can see her cute blushing face, I'm willing to be scolded for any length of time. 

"Sigh... Really, how can you still smiling after everything I told you?"

"Do you even have to ask? Just hearing your voice is enough to make me happy, all the more doing it while looking at your pretty face."

Tsukinaga-san flinched. She wasn't ready for my other compliment.

"Ugh! Please spare me with all your endless attacks."

Tsukinaga-san gave up and decided to quickly head to our main destination today. With a little bit of sulking, she led the way. But, I still find her cute despite all of her pouting. I couldn't help but giggle while walking behind her.

After buying tickets, we are finally inside the amusement park. 

The first thing that caught my attention was how big this place is. They said that it is not enough to ride all the attractions in just one day. 

Apart from the facilities, I was also captivated by how many people had gathered in this place. Starting from families with their children to young people with their couples.

Looking at a young couple that is slightly older than us, who seemed to be college students, made me wonder how Tsukinaga-san and I would appear to people.

I rubbed my hands against my pants and tried to grab the hand of the girl beside me. After hesitating for a while, I lost my courage and revoked my action.

"What attraction should we ride first?"

"Hm... How about rollercoaster?"

"Right off the bat? Shouldn't we start with something more relaxed?"

"I mean it's fine, right? Or are you afraid of heights or something, Minamoto-kun?"

"No, I don't think I do."

"Then there is no problem."

Just before I could come up with another excuse, Tsukinaga-san grabbed my hand and pulled me along.

While waiting in the long queue, we talked about many things. To be honest, I was a bit worried because I'd never been on this ride before. 

My only memory of coming to the amusement park is when I was a kid. At that time, I was not allowed to ride it. Only my older sister accompanied by my father rode it. So I feel a little uneasy right now.

Moreover, some of the videos on the internet that I've seen show people getting thrown off while riding rollercoasters. I know that it was an accident and that the odds were one in many, but I can't help but feel paranoid.

After waiting for quite a while, finally it's our turn. The ride operator directed us to available seats and then put on the safety devices.

While I was still struggling with my fear, I felt a soft touch at the back of my hand that was holding tight to the iron bars.

"Don't worry. Nothing bad will happen. Even if there is, I will be there to protect you."

Her gentle words put me at ease just like water extinguishes fire. With my mind calming down, I didn't even notice that the rollercoaster had moved. My eyes are glued on the face of the woman I loved the most. Her gentle smile was as if saying that everything would be fine.

Before I finished admiring my girlfriend's face, my heart felt like it was floating when the rollercoaster I was riding suddenly dived sharply down.

Screams echoed throughout the amusement park. 

"Are you okay, Minamoto-kun?"

Tsukinaga-san asked me worriedly as I bent my body ninety degrees to the ground while sitting on the bench right after we got off the rollercoaster.

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have acted selfishly and forced you."

I remained silent for some time.

"Wait here, I'll get you something to drink."

Tsukinaga-san who feels guilty intends to buy me a drink. But I stopped her by grabbing her hand.

"Don't go anywhere. Just stay with me."

"O-Okay."

I loosened my grip while guided her to sit next to me. 

With a worried expression, she opened his mouth several times but no words came out.

"I'm so sorry, Minamoto-kun."

Hearing her apologizing with a sad voice makes my heart ache. I lifted my head and laughed my lungs out. Tsukinaga-san who saw me couldn't help but remain confused.

"Haaaah... That was fun."

"Eh?! Aren't you scared? You looked pretty drained out."

"I was. But, the thrill is pretty fun itself. I was just not ready at the beginning, but after getting used to it I started to enjoy it."

Tsukinaga-san still couldn't find the words to say.

"So you don't have to feel sorry. Thanks to you, I managed to do something that would not be possible to do by myself."

Tsukinaga-san's eyes quivered as I looked straight into hers. After a while, smile finally returned to her face.

"Glad to hear it then."

She stood up after saying those words.

"Are you ready for the next ride? Or do you need to rest more?"

"I'm up for anything."

I stand next to her. Holding her hand, we continued our date at the amusement park.
