Chapter 5:

Chapter 5

Oh My God

The room which was all lit earlier was now dark like the normal night we have in the world. She slept soundly but was burning up with fever. Alex kept on dabbing a cold washcloth on her head. Although, she was sleeping, she had trouble breathing. This made Alex even more worried. Her face was turning beet red because of the heat. He tried to make the temperature cooler in the room but it didn't help that much.

It had been 3 hours since she was asleep. He was super worried for her and he tried all the tricks to wake her up. Her fever had gone down enough to wake her up now.

She finally woke up. When she woke up, she was astonished to find herself in a bedroom which was just the way she always loved. Alex was gone at the time she woke up. She was very weak to even get up, so she just had to lay still with the cold washcloth on her forehead.

Alex came back after some minutes. She was happy to see him and tried to sit up but he didn't let her. So, instead she lay down again while he sat on the corner of the bed.

"How are you feeling?," he asked.

"A little better. Where were you?," she said.

"Oh, were you worried about me?," he asked, smirking.

"Well, not really. I knew you would be somewhere," she answered.

"Somewhere?," he asked.

"I don't know. But, how did I end up in this bedroom?," she said.

"Oh, well you passed out. So, you ended up in this bedroom," he said.

"Oh, but where is Maria?," she asked.

"Maria? Well, she left, of course, because she isn't allowed in this bedroom," he answered.

"She isn't? Why? I mean, this is just a bedroom," she asked.

"Well, it is not just any bedroom. This is my bedroom, Hazel. I'm in charge of whom I let in and whom I don't. And, I don't want Maria to ruin our precious moments," he answered.

"Precious moments?! That's weird. And, where did that library go?," she said.

"Well, Hazel, the library is right here in this room. But, I want it to be a bedroom right now. So, that is why it's a bedroom right now," he said.

"Oh, I get it. But, Alex, why are you taking so much care of me? I mean, you have your own things to do," she asked.

"Well, this is the thing I do, Hazel. This is my job," he answered.

"What? Alex, you're making no sense to me!," she said.

"Oh my dear, I'm your guardian angel. And it is my job to be with you everywhere and all the time," he said.

"What? But, back on Earth, I can't even feel you there. Explain everything!!," she said, confused.

"Ok, then, if that's what you want," he said.

He got under the covers with her and started talking.

"So, listen up, Hazel. I can show myself to you all I want. But, it's not appropriate that you see such a beautiful guy walking next to you out of nowhere. And, I know you'll ask the next question, so I'll already answer it for you," he said.

"What? What question?," she asked.

"Just this that I've been in this room all this time, so how could I have been down there with you, right? Is that gonna be your next question, Hazel?," he asked.

"Well, if you want to answer it. Then, so be it. Answer it, please," she said.

"It depends solely on you, Hazel. If you're down there on Earth, then I'll have to be down there with you, invisible. But ever since you've gotten up here, I'm here too, in my homeland," he answered.

"So, if I go back to Earth, you'll have to go with me?," she asked.

"Of course, I will," he said.

"But invisible?," she asked.

"Yes, invisible," he answered.

"Then, I don't want to! If you can't be seen, then I don't want you down there with me. You stay here and do your other jobs," she said.

"Well, that is absolutely not right. Being your guardian angel is my one and only job, Hazel. And if I don't go to Earth with you, the Father will not like it and He will punish me for declining my duties," he said.

"Well, can't you get punished for me? You were kissing me earlier. Do you love me?," she asked, flirting.

"Well, I kissed you because you wanted to be kissed by me. And as I can't lie and I'll definitely not do anything that I can't do, I'll be honest as always. Yes, Hazel, I love you and I've been with you since the moment you were born and I've seen you in every moment of your life and protected you. And I'll keep on doing that," he said.

"So, you didn't feel anything while kissing me? I mean, you just don't go and kiss any girl you see, right?," she asked, sad.

"Well, the love I have for you is a type that usually guardian angels can't have for the person they protect. I have fallen for you in a way that I shouldn't have fallen in," he answered.

"Alex, you're not making any sense to me," she whined.

"Look, Hazel. The way you fell for Carter, I have fallen for you the same way too. It's not allowed for a guardian angel to romantically fall for a human, especially the one they are protecting. But I have and I couldn't stop me from falling for you," he said.

"But why can't you, Alex? Why can you not fall for a human?," she asked.

"Tales of angels helping humans have been heard of far and wide. But there isn't any tale of angels falling for humans so I can't do that, too," he answered.

"Will God get mad at you?," she asked.

"I wonder. God is gracious and merciful and He sees all. So, I bet He's watching us now, too. And He probably knows I've fallen for you since a long time ago," he said.

"So, why hasn't He done anything yet?," she asked.

"Well, His nature is out of understanding. And if God hasn't done anything to me that means He's not mad at me. The Father is not mad at me for loving a human!," he exclaimed.

"Why are you so happy about it?," she asked, laughing.

"Because I'll stay with you forever, Hazel and I'll let the people down there see me. Then, you and me can get married, Hazel!," he answered, extremely glad.

"But, you're an angel, Alex. That can't happen. You're hot and respectful and all but marrying you is out of question!," she said, confused.

"Yeah, that's true," he said, a little sadly.

Suddenly, Alex shivered. He snapped his fingers and the bedroom changed into the library. Hazel was shocked by that but she understood someone was coming.

Just then, a sweaty Maria ran in. She was so out of breath, it felt like she would faint any moment now.

"Run, Hazel. The HPA found out about you. Run!," she exclaimed.
