Chapter 7:

An Awkward Inneraction

The Bestfriend's Love Story: Kazou and Suma

As Kazou knocked on the door her heard two voices inside. As the door opened Kazou and Suma just both looked at eachother confused. Suma was wearing pajamas.

"She can't possibly plan on wearing that", he thought to himself.

"Oh. Today. I completely forgot, why don't-", Suma said before getting cut off.

"Who is it?", a voice said from what appeared to be the kitchen.

"My friend Kazou!", Suma yelled so her mom could hear. "Anyway why don't you-"

"Tell him to come on in!", her mom yelled excitingly from the kitchen.

"Ugh, come in", Suma said sounding defeated.

"Are your sure I can wait out here if you want", Kazou said trying to be considerate.

"No, it's fine", Suma said.

Kazou entered the house and took his shoes off. He noticed there were also two pairs of shoes in the entrance way.

"You must be Kazou, I'm Suma's mom but you can just call me Mrs. Sano", the woman who is apparently Suma's mom said. She spoke quite fast.

"Hi I'm Kazou you can call me Kazou", he said. He wasn't sure why he said his name twice.

"Alright, I'm going to go get ready", Suma said as she headed up a flight of stairs, "please don't do anything embarrassing while I'm gone mom".

"I won't", her mom said as she winked at Kazou. "So what do you like to do Kazou?"

"Uhm, I like to work and study, and on my days off I just watch TV and talk to friends I guess", as Kazou said this he realized he doesn't do much.

"Oh where do you work?", she asked as she headed towards the dishes.

"Do you know that popular restaurant chain 'Head Over Meals'?", he asks.

"Oh you work there? You must be making bank", she said jokingly.

"Yeah, the pays pretty good but I don't really get to see the money", Kazou said with a laugh.

"Elaborate?", said Mrs. Sano.

"Oh I have a bank account where I put almost all the money I get, it has more then enough for university if I want to go", Kazou said trying to stay humble. "I've done it for a couple years. My mom said to save up so I have options in the future"

"Your mother must be a wise woman", Mrs. Sano said. "I give Suma an allowance, a pretty nice one at that. Well, I tell her to save it but she's always buying these posters, figures, and Mangas off the internet. Sometimes there'll be 10 packages a week!"

"Oh?" Kazou said, he assumed Suma was one of those girls who focused on studying all the time, but apparently she likes to read manga. Kazou had noticed last night on the phone when they were talking she was different from the other girls he talked to, which to be fair wasn't a large number.

"I'm all ready!", Suma said as she ran down the stairs.
