Lucky Draw [100 word stories]
“You ssssshouldn’t be here.”
I stop digging. Dry fingers wrap around my throat. From the corner of my eyes, I see the skin flaking. It peels away like old wallpaper to reveal putrid flesh and cracked yellow bones. The pungent smell of rot fills my nose. I almost choke but I know better than to scream. Out here, there is no one to hear me except the dead and they look at me with pity.
“I’m not going!” I sneer at the faceless ghoul.
Its fingers slither away and I step into my own freshly dug grave.
“I belong here.”
