Chapter 2:

The Last Chance

Rising Hope

1 DAY LATER

Miyu and the coach get on the plane, determined to make it out of the tryouts. Miyu also realizes that this might be his only chance. After 14 hours, they get out of the plane, heading to their hotel. It's a respectable hotel, not cheap and not expensive, and in the middle of their walk to the room, Miyu asks his coach, "Coach, when are we gonna go to the tryout?" he asks excitedly.

"Not very long, Miyu. It's tomorrow morning at 8:00 AM," the coach answers.

"Good thing we arrived in the morning so we can settle ourselves here," Miyu says.

After they rested for a bit, Miyu decides to take a moment to thank his coach. "Coach, I would like to say thank you for this opportunity that you gave me. It's like I was rebirthed," Miyu thanks his coach from the heart.

His coach nods and says, "I didn’t give you this opportunity; you had it. I just showed it to you." After that, they go to explore the place they were staying in. They visited the pitch where they are going to do the tryout and everything they could visit, going back to their hotel at 10 PM and going to sleep as they wish each other a good night.

RING RING RING

An alarm rings to wake them both up at 6 AM. They finish their morning routine, eat, and go to the pitch at 7:30 AM. They greet the coaches and warm up, and so they start. The coaches were amazed by Miyu; their jaws dropped. Miyu decided to play as an Attacking Midfielder. His dribbling was so good that they couldn’t tackle him. His shooting was astonishing, passing was accurate, defending was average but physically strong, and his speed was amazing; no one could catch him. Well, this is not compared to pros yet, but to these players, he was the best. At the end, they accepted Miyu, and his coach was so happy. But then, Miyu froze, remembering something.

"Miyu, what's wrong?" he says, confused.

"I never remembered your name or called you by it in these years," Miyu says.

"Well, it's sad that you didn’t remember, but it's Riku Tanaka," he says.

"I'm sorry, Riku. I really didn't remember," Miyu says.

"It's okay, Miyu," Riku says.

And he signed with Luton Town, a contract paying him £30,000 per week. At the start of the season, for the next couple of matches, he was benched, which is understandable. Until one match versus Chelsea, he came on at the 64th minute. Seeing Riku in the crowd motivated him, and fans had their eyes on him as the new prodigy. Chelsea was up by 1, but in the 84th minute, Miyu came in clutch as he scored a goal, celebrating by pointing at Riku. Everyone was going insane until the 94th minute; Chelsea got a penalty. Everyone was silent on Luton's side, but Chelsea fans were going nuts. Enzo was going towards the ball, and then silence. The ball was shot, and... the goalkeeper saved it. On the counterattack, they are just out of the penalty area, and the defender tackles and gets a red card. The coach decides to give it to Miyu, putting all the pressure on him. He steps up; everyone is silent, and then Miyu shoots. While the ball is in the air, Miyu's journey flashes before his eyes. It was a knuckle ball, so powerful it got through the wall, but the keeper is still there.
