Chapter 17:

This is for you.

The Bestfriend's Love Story: Kazou and Suma

After Kazou and Suma walked I'm they both found a spot to sit. Manga Medium was a newer Manga cafe. It was slightly different to the other Manga cafes in town.

This was Cafe was owned by a couple. The couple had a strong love for Manga so they opened a Cafe to buy more. Eventually they realized they only read their Mangas once and were done so they decided to add a Manga library at the back of the Cafe. Here they allow people to borrow Manga and get drinks. They also have watchparties of popular l animes and movies on weekend nights.

"You've never been here before?", Suma asked.

"Nope", Kazou said taking a drink of his tea.

"Then why come here?", Suma asked. She was incredibly confused why he chose a place he had never been to.

"Didn't you choose a place you've never been to aswell?", Kazou asked.

"Yeah but that's because I was embarrassed of my favorite place", Suma said.

"Well according to your mom this is your favorite place", Kazou said taking another sip of his tea.

"Well yeah, wait when did you talk to my mom?", Suma asked flustered.

"The other day, I asked her what Manga cafe you go to", Kazou said showing the text messages between Mrs. Sano and him.

"How'd you get her number?!?" Suma asked.

"Well, Toyo owed me because I did his math homework for him a while back. So, I asked him to ask Ami for the number.", Kazou said. "I told him to tell her not to tell you"

"Oh", Suma said somewhat shocked. "Why did you go through all that trouble to go here?" She asked curiously.

"Well remember how after we both got home last week, and we continued to talk about why you chose a place you never been. You said you wanted to do your actual favorite place but were embarrassed that the class would think your a nerdy Otaku. So I thought since we have to present the other's favorite place you could present mine which is actually yours", Kazou said.

"So you did all that for me?", Suma asked. Kazou noticed she was blushing.

"I'd do it for anyone", he said.

"I'm a liar", he thought to himself.

"Oh well thank you I guess", Suma said. Kazou wasn't sure if this was the right call or not but based on the text conversation he had with her last week he thought she'd enjoy this place.

"So did you bring the notebooks", Kazou asked.

"Yeah", Suma said handing him a notebook. Kazou noticed Suma seemed like she was thinking about something but he didn't press her for it.

The pair then spent the day at the Cafe  joking around, taking notes, reading, and having fun together. After that they agreed on a day to meet up and make the presentation they would show the class.

As Kazou walked away from the Cafe to go buy some dinner he received a text message. The message was from Suma.

(Thank you for what you did I really appreciate it, you're a really nice guy)

Kazou smiled at his phone as he read the message. He didn't get compliments that much but he felt like the compliment from Suma was better then any compliment he'd ever got.

He then replied to the message with

 [I lied.]

(What do you mean??) Suma texted back.

[I wouldn't have done that for anyone]

Kazou stared at his phone. The message said "seen" with a small check beside it but no reply. Kazou immediately felt like an idiot. He just grabbed dinner from the store and went home.
