Chapter 1 - New Classmate

The sound of people running around can be heard. The atmosphere filled with crowd spectating. There are students playing football on the field. Suddenly, a student scored a goal after dribbling through opposing side defenders. The name written on his shirt is …

“Akira, nice goal.”said other players that praises him after he successfully kick the ball into the goal bar. “Nice pass too.” said Akira to his teammates. Right after the goal, the kickoff starts but it’s worthless anyway. The whistle been blown means the game has ended. Akira and his teammates cheers and celebrates their victory. They have won the regional football cup with score 2-1.

“Hey, Akira. AKIRA!!! Wake up, the class will start soon and you still sleeping in the class?” said Akira’s friend that sat right behind him. “Hateru, you bother me. I’m just had a beautiful dream.” said Akira. “Let me take a guess. You would like to say you dreaming winning the regional football cup.” said Hateru. “Hey, how did you know? “Ask Akira. “I can enter someone else dream.” said Hateru. “Joke aside. Actually, I can’t count how many times you keep dreaming something good from the past event happened.” said Hateru more. “Wait, it’s real?” ask Akira. “You fool or what? It just a month earlier.” said Hateru. “Oh, how can I forgot? “Said Akira. “Go wash your face quickly before Miss Hina enter the classroom.” said Hateru to remind Akira.

Akira walked out from the class and went wash his face. While walking to toilet and washing his face, he has a monologue. “So, last month I just continued this school winning streak in regional football cup. This school has history and its pride. Heiji High School is rated as Number 1 school in all over japan for several years in academic but in the football cup, we always lose at the Regional Champions League. I hope my team will exceed the limit and be the champion of champions soon. Many parents entrusted their children to study here and get great results. People graduated from this school also work with high salaries job right now.”

Finally, Akira washed his face and go back to class. Hateru noticed him and showed a sign to Akira that Miss Hina, their class teacher had entered the class. Hateru asked Akira to enter the class using the back door and silently crawled at the back of the class to his place. “Okay, you may sit at that place beside … eh? Where is Tatsuya-San?” ask Miss Hina. “I’m here, teacher. My wallet just fell of, and I just take it.” said Akira. “Okay, you can sit beside Tatsuya. Tatsuya, please be nice to her.” said Miss Hina. “Just right on time, Akira.” whisper Hateru from his back. Akira is relieved and just realizes there’s someone sitting by his side, he’s too late to know her name. Their teacher just erases her name from blackboard.

Akira raised his hand. “Teacher, why she should sit at Kazama’s place?” ask Akira. “You didn’t know yet? Kazama have moved to other countries. So, why don’t give the free place to her.” said his teacher. “But, teacher…” Akira keep questioning. “Tatsuya, better you silent until today lessons is over.” said Miss Hina. Akira staring at the girl beside him. “Why are you keep staring at me?” said the girl. “Hmph.” said Akira while turning his head back to the front.

After a couple of hour in lesson period, bell ringing means it’s the time for the student to take a break…

The girl quickly stood up and left the class. Akira and his friends gather up tables in the class and eat together while chatting. “So, what you all going to do on next summer holidays?” ask Hateru. “I will follow my family on vacation to Malaysia.” Said one of the students. “Wow, don’t forget to bring us some souvenir, Han.” said Akira. “What about you?” Hateru asked Akira. “I’m staying in this city still. I think I will be part-time worker. “Said Akira. “So, how many of us will be free during the summer festival?” ask Hateru. Akira and his two other friends raise their hand. “So, it’s set then.” said Hateru. They continue eating while joking around. Time passes and break time is over.

The other teacher enters the class for mathematics lesson. “I see there’s a new student right here. How about a little test for you?” said the teacher to the new girl. “She will dead. Mr. Hiroshi loves to ask tricky questions for his students. I feel bad for her because he is our mathematics teacher.” monologue Akira. The girl walks to the front of the class to answer the question written on the blackboard. “Let see what you can do, new girl. “Monologue Akira and Mr. Hiroshi. After a while, she finished answering the question and took a seat back. “This is perfection. May I know your name, new girl? “Said Mr. Hiroshi after saw the answer given. “Asada, Asada Hikari. “Said the girl. “Asada-San right.” said Mr. Hiroshi. “Now, Tatsuya. Do next question.” said Mr. Hiroshi to Akira. Akira go to the front of the class and finish it as fast as he can. He also got it right.

The lesson continues until the bell ringing. Students packing their stationery and ready to walk home. There are a few female students go to greet Hikari, but she quickly gets out from the class. “She is so cruel. Why she having that kind of attitude.” said Akira. “Don’t mind her then. Wanna have lunch? I heard there’s a new restaurant just opened and have a promotion since their opening.” said Hateru. Both of them get out from school and go directly to the restaurant mentioned.

They look at the menu and order their foods right when they arrive there. They’ve waited the food to come for a long time and finally the food served. “We are sorry, we are short in the numbers of staff for this moment around.” said the waiter. They don’t mind it too much since they were playing mobile games while waiting for the food. They eating and also have a chat on the same time.

After having lunch together, their path to their home separated. So, they waving their hands to each other and walk to their own house by themselves. Akira reached his home around 3.45p.m. He enters his house and goes right to his room and prepares himself. He wants to have a bath and relax watching television at living room. While watching television, Akira’s mother calls him and his father to have a dinner together.

“How’s your school today?” asked Akira’s mother. “Like usual, but we have new classmates. She just moved.” said Akira. “She? So, it’s a girl. You having good relationship with her? I thought this is the perfect time you will bring us someone to meet.” said Akira’s father. “Dear, stop joking around. “Said Akira’s mother. “Forget that, dad. She is so annoying, she even doesn’t have a chat with other classmates.” said Akira. “So, what’s her name?” asked Akira’s mom. “I don’t remember it. I just took a glimpse of her name and heard it once.” said Akira. “Well, that’s a problem. “Said Akira’s father. “How’s your work, dear? “Ask Akira’s mother to his father to change the topic of Akira’s new classmates. “Same things everyday. Not having so much problems with clients though.” said Akira’s father.

Akira finished eating and asked permission to left dining room to go to his room and study a little. After a while studying, he got a notification from his phone. His classmate friends are texting him and they just chat along the night.
