A Battle With The Knights

Genji's Pov:
I left the town with Brenda full of shopping bags and most of them were clothes for me. I was happy that I got welcomed and treated as one of her family and the way she taught me earlier made me feel happy and warm. Even if we are not blood related, I'm going to cherish this new family of mine because I love them.
We reached her house only to drop the bags in shock. The garden was destroyed, the lake was half dried, the knights secured the area... And her mother was injured and held by the knights which caused her to get raged "Hands off mom!" Brenda didn't think twice before attacking the knight that held her mother causing him to stagger back freeing the latter "Mom! are you okay?" "Brenda! Take Gin and run away!" When I heard those words, I looked around and saw the knight from yesterday among the crowd to confirm my suspicions: They are after me. I was able to define him by his unique helmet unlike the others who did not wear one.

The knight from that day pointed at me "That kid was executed a day ago, why is he here alive?" "He survived because he did! Why are you making a big deal out of this?" Screamed Brenda who was held by another knight. The same knight replied in sarcasm "Don't act as if we don't know. Some villagers saw you saving a boy and you were even able to restore his lost limbs. The royal court is asking you to give both the beast and the boy from that day otherwise-"

I was lost in thoughts... If I give up myself I will die, If I don't Brenda and Lila will get hurt... What can I do? My phone rang suddenly as if answering my question, 'not right now' I thought. But then remembered his words last night. He said he is going to guide me, right? Let's see what he got!
I picked up the phone in hope that whoever called Edd will give me some tips on how to do "Yo! My dear boy! It seems you are in trouble for real. I was annoyed when he started making fun of the bad situation I'm in but knowing my mother's other name startled me. Understood? I'll give you a reward if you crush the knight's leader arm!" As the call ended, two tasks' notification popped in my phone "Save your new family" and "Unleash a powerful attack"
I was startled and confused about how to deal with everything when one of the knights held me by the arm. And since I was small he hung me in the air. I wanted to find the gun Brenda bought for me and try out but with my hand bound, it was impossible.
The knight was about to assault my neck with a dagger when he was burned ruthlessly causing him to loosen his grip on me allowing me to slide. I ran towards Brenda who was a raging Volcano burning everyone one after one "I wouldn't mind if you tried to kill me, but raising your hands on mom and injuring her is an unforgivable crime!" "Brenda! Calm down!" I looked at the knights "You all are after me, right? Then leave them alone and catch me if you can!" I planned on running away luring the knights after me, but my plan was done before being executed when the same knight from yesterday gave me a heavy blow with his fist throwing me to the wall of the house destroying it. I was able to vaguely hear and see another knight coming to him "Leader, have you finished him?" "Not yet, he is thick skinned even with no magic. I don't understand why he was running from the monsters weakly even tho he has a flicker of potentials. I hate people who have power and hide it to run from responsibilities so I won't let his death be merciful." Blood was flowing from my new injuries and my predator didn't seem to be killing me quickly , instead, he was enjoying torturing me. Brenda was injured and fainted after he attacked her... She saved me once yet I...
I remembered earlier training... She asked me to feel the flow of water and be one with it, what if I felt the flow of blood? At that thought, I neglected every stinging pain in my body and focused on feeling the flow of my blood as it was seeping out of me 'I can do it and save Brenda and Lila! If I don't I can't face Nana after leaving the people who helped me die like this!" I was concentrating when I heard the knight stepping away. I opened my eyes only to see two magic circles in the air and somehow I felt them connected to me. Without much thinking I took the gun and followed Brenda's previous tips "Feel your mana flow and fill it in the weapon, and once about to shoot push an additional amount to make the explosion stronger and faster." I remembered Edd's words about the reward if I crushed the knights arm and I aimed directly at the leader. I thought my power wouldn't be as great as Brenda's but the explosion was strong and the weapon in my hands was no longer usable.

I looked at the results only to see many knights injured on the ground with the ones Brenda had burned previously while the one I aimed at had his armor and helmet broken with few injuries in his arm. He looked at me in awe with his light sapphire eyes and smiled like an angel. Bowing down, he apologized "You don't seem to be weak, I misjudged you. Starting from now you are free to live in our kingdom. If you have any requests for training or any help, I'm happy to be at your service, my little lord." The leader knight turned to his subordinates and announced "The kid is able to use magic and strong enough, so our mission should be cancelled!" And with that he made a magical circle and all the knights disappeared.

I was still confused at those words "My little lord? What does that mean?" I wanted to ask about it but I had more important things in hand "Brenda! Lady Lila! Are you okay?" I was worried that the explosion had blew Brenda and Lila but thankfully there was a magical shield around them. "Are you alright? Brenda! Lady Lila!" Lila smiled "I'm totally fine, I healed my wounds. Brenda fainted cause of excessive mana use, but she will be fine after some rest. Thank you for saving us." "I should be the one apologizing... If it weren't for me they wouldn't have destroyed your house and hurt you-" "It's not your fault at all. Also we can fix it easily with the help of Brenda's friends like Piopino. You also used a big amount of mana and got hurt, come here let me help you with the injuries." She casted a spell and my wounds and pain faded.

I was about to thank her when her facial features changed all of a sudden "Gin... your eyes!" I was a little confused at her declaration since I couldn't see my face, but she took my hand and ran with me to the house and brought a mirror from a desk in her room "Here, look at yourself." I already saw the difference between my original look and the current one in the water reflection, but the kid in the mirror had glowing golden eyes. I kept looking at them in astonishment as they slowly dimmed and turned green.

Lila put Brenda in bed and checked if she had any side effects of her excessive mana use. "She is totally fine... Glad she didn't start transforming..." I was sure she meant something related to the fact that Brenda is a hybrid and she explained with a sigh "Brenda is certainly a hybrid yet she doesn't look like one which is a good thing for her not to be feared by other humans... But on the other hand, it is very dangerous for her." "Why is it dangerous?" "Hybrids between demons and humans have a demon born with them and growing up as they do. That demon will be their guardian as long as they can control it, but if they can't, they're gonna be devoured by him."
