More about Brenda

Genji's Pov:

After fixing the damaged house with a bunch of harmless beasts including Piopino, I helped Lila with other house chores and dinner before going to sleep.

That night, I couldn't sleep thinking of madam Lila's words.

Flashbacks 

"Brenda has at best only 25% of demon's blood, wouldn't that mean her demon should be weak and easy to control?" I asked. Lila shook her head "It's the opposite. The greater the amount of demon blood you have, the easier to control and closer to your demon you will be. Those who have less than fifty percent of demon blood are considered as mere humans and hated by their demons. To use their power they have to make a contract which will absorb their souls in exchange for great power. Once she is 15, Brenda will meet her demon for the first time and the rest is up to her... It might also be before that age in the worst scenario... But if that demon doesn't appear after she is 15, then she is a normal human like me and her brother, and that's what I am wishing for." 

She looked sad as she started telling me about her daughter "Brenda wasn't a normal kid. When Brenda was 3 years old, she started reading kids stories books, then at 4 she became obsessed with historical books. At 5 she started using her power but it was greater to control, then at 7 she killed a raged beast saving many people... She also invented dishes I never heard of... as if she saw them in another world before being born here. The smarter and stronger the hybrid is, the stronger their demon is... She is stronger than her brother so I'm sure she inherited some demon bloods. Brenda is always sentimental which means she is gonna summon her demon earlier and constantly use his power allowing him to easily consume her... And that's my greatest fear."

I stood up from my place and looked at the window "If Brenda was reincarnated, could this be the same case with Nanami? If Nana was reincarnated 9 years ago, then her age now should be-" 

I hopped suddenly "Brenda said she got someone she loves and she wanna meet again, moreover she is 9. Could Brenda be Nanami?" I had some hope when I remembered our first meeting "Nana? I'm not Nana." She said that loud and clear, if she was Nana she would have asked how I knew her past life name.

I had a lot running in my head so I couldn't sleep early that night yet...

Brenda's Pov:

"I don't wanna die." I always wished that wish before... Even with the traumatic life I had, I still wanted to live more... But destiny sadly had a different opinion.

Flashbacks:

"Hey ugly! You know that I decided to take this seat from today on, get lost!" "Yukino you shouldn't be so harsh with her, she is your sister after all!" "My sister? Hah! She isn't more than a father stealer just like her mother."

I stood up from the place to avoid more arguments when I tripped by Yukino's feet. I was laughed at by everyone except one person who hit the table in rage and stood up "Enough is enough! I don't understand how you can say that she and her mother have stolen your father while she is six months older than you. Look at the students list, She is born on May 15th while you are born on November 12th. Can you explain it?"

The boy was about to take my hand but Yukino stepped on it angering him "Feet off her, otherwise you will regret." Yukino had the usual smirk at her face "What are you going to do? Are you going to raise your hand on a girl?" We all didn't expect him to do it, but he really slapped her forcefully making her stagger back in shock "Keep that in your mind and tell it to everyone else, scumbags! was it a boy or a girl, whoever dares to harm this girl going to pay hard."

He brushed off the dust on my hand and took it gently rubbing it "Let's get out of here." He looked at me with great gentleness and a warm smile unlike the usual coldness everyone showed me thanks to my half sister and eye colour "Let's go, ******" 

I woke up after that dream cursing "Aaah damnit! why I can't remember it! Why do I remember a lot except of it!" 

I looked around and saw myself in my room and suddenly flashbacks from yesterday descended to my mind "Right! Did the knights take Gin-" 

I was in panic that I jumped from the bed without looking down causing me to tripp on something "Ouch! What was-"

I looked at what caused me to fall and found a sleeping Gin on the floor. "Gin! You are here!" 

I was so overwhelmed with happiness that I almost killed the poor boy with my bear hug. Even tho we are not blood related, this Gin reminds me of him somehow, so I'm not going to leave him alone.

Genji's Pov:

I couldn't sleep well last night and in the morning I was woken up with a suffocating feeling. I opened my eyes only to find that it was Brenda hugging me tightly. "Brenda- I can't breath!"

 She let go of me suddenly when I told her that, leaving me gasping for air "Sorry Gin, I was just so happy that you are still here. What happened to those stupid knights?" "It's all thanks to you, Brenda." 

 She looked at me confused by my words so I just smiled and explained "Because of your tips and training, I was able to summon a magical explosion so they decided to let go of me because it was super strong!" Brenda was shocked at first moment, then her eyes glew up again brightly with excitement "Yay! So Gin is staying forever with me." "Brenda let go I can't breath!"

After some heartwarming cat fight and cleaning , we both left the room to have breakfast.

Madam Lila was already waiting for us and smiled as she saw both of us "Freshen up and come to eat, breakfast is special today!" I asked curiously, "Special?" "Yep! Gin is officially safe and a family member of us, also Brenda fought very well and both of you were acknowledged by the prince after the Tyrant army made a report of yesterday's battle. I'll tell you the rest once you are done." 

I left with Brenda to the bathroom and I asked her there "What does it mean to be acknowledged by the prince?" "Well... Idk how to explain it but it's like a scholarship I guess? Like you will have more rights and  be rewarded with something to develop your power. If I can choose my reward, I would ask for Terra's great academy." I got even more confused with that unfamiliar term "What is that academy?" "It's the greatest place in Tyrranosia! Strong and experienced adventurers train the students to become more powerful. It is said that the weakest had killed a minotour by himself. Also those who are acknowledged there has a chance to participate in the throne contest, which offer them a chance to climb the ladder to the throne and challenge the prince personally. If they were strong enough then they might have a chance to challenge the king on his throne."

I was amazed that the royal family would do something like that "Why would the royal family give the throne to anyone as long as he is stronger?" "Royal family you said? They aren't a family. The power show-off contest is what decides. The person who takes over the throne is the strongest in Tyrranosia, the person who ranks second is the prince, the other 6 participants will take the title of a duke and so on. That role is gonna be changed every 5 years whenever someone new won the contest. The current king is the strongest for the last 15 years it is said. But the prince is highly expected to take the throne in the next contest. He took the role of the prince when he was just 7 years old a few months ago and now he is more famous because nobody was able to defeat him except the king."

We left to the dining table as I was grasping all the new information I got. So whoever called Edd wanted me to join that contest to become the king and change this nation rules, right?

As we sat there and I saw many different types of food from both worlds... In short, the table was a feast. we started eating only to hear Madam Lila happily announcing the news "Brenda! Gin! You both are officially welcomed to the honored academy of the capital!"
