Kaito vs. Shinigami-kun

Kaito, An otaku high schooler wakes up by his alarm one day wondering what life really is. Everyday life became so robotic for him he is looking at his hands open and closing it, knocks on the wall, pinch himself he feel pain but he’s wondering if he’s really alive, what’s missing to his life for him to think he’s not just an npc in the world. 

The usual school day is 6 times a week from 7 am to 6 pm, he feels exhausted he is doing it for past 15 years of his life and he’s not even college yet its 4 years or more if he got good grades.

He wonder if this is really the life of everyone in the world at some point. He got up see his grandmother preparing his breakfast and his grandfather is doing some house choirs his siblings are all eating in the table. He just thank god he’s not alone in his life he got a family that cares for him but he still feels lost maybe its just about puberty or something else.

He dressed up and prepare to go out to school and ride his bike he leaves the house. He saw many people doing their own thing and he wonder if they feels the same feeling he is currently experiencing right now. They got they own world and problems too. He saw a homeless sorting on the trash bin he feels lucky he got roof on his head and his parents are providing food. He got a bit of relief but he worry now about his future when his parents cant provide for him anymore. He needs to work on his own but he still 17 and dont know much about the adult life. He just put the thoughts in the back of his head because its not his problem now and that is far later in his life.

He got to school greet the usual classmates and joke if they are the npc. They are video game hardcore and a vid manga reader. The usual clock rings *school japanese clock ringtone* the school is over, he is tired again pedaling home doing this all over again tomorrow.

While he is lost in thought a truck is about to hit him but the truck just bump into him and he just got knocked back and luckily got shallow wounds. The trucker yell at him and he says sorry. Apparently he just survive truck-kun. He dont say anything about it on his family just eat and went to his room as usual play video games, watch anime till he falls asleep.

While he is about to sleep he heard his parent arguing about their debt because they are 7 in the family 3 of them are in school apparently his parents is just borrowing money and they are just surviving from paychecks to paychecks and they cant to this forever he hear them discussed about moving to countryside for low cost of living or stopping one kid to school.

He just wonder what can he do to help and thinking to stop going to school. He just pray that their problems got fix because he cant do anything right now he reach to his phone to see find some part time jobs. While he is reaching his phone his hands touch the extension socket and got mildly shocked he just scratch his head and wonders whats going on with his luck. While he is surfing the net for part time jobs he saw some crimes involving part timers some are getting abducted, some are getting shot in convenience store in robbery gone wrong and a serial killer aiming part timers on the loose because they are vulnerable going home alone.

He just smirks and realize its just not his day today and go back to sleep hoping the problem will be gone tomorrow. Apparently the day is not over yet a rouge asteroid size of a truck crushing down to his room and just nearly missed everybody the meteor hit him and his room is crushed and burn maybe its his day after all his last day...

He wakes up but not by his alarm he is in a open grass field with a lot of people with different race he is shocked he is pinching himself but dont feel a thing anymore. He looks around and everyone is in the same shocked like him. He suddenly hears a voice that says “looks like everyone is awake now please proceed to tap the bracelet button on your right hand if your ready to be judged” everyone is muttering. He just sigh and collected his thought maybe he didn’t escape death after all he just tap the button and teleported to his assign judgement room. 

The room is empty and all white he cant event see and feel where he is stepping he looks around and saw pond he is scared at first but theres nothing to do in the room so he walks forward to it. Apparently he still feels emotion curiosity and fear. When he reaches the pond a voice says  “do you want to know how you die?”. 

Kaito: You try to kill me at least 2 times in 1 day so i guess 3rd time is the charm. *laughs* 

Voice: *laughs* You have a good humor and curiosity your talent is not suitable in the human world thats why you start doubting everything and feel lost.

Kaito: I guess that’s fair. Okay let me see how i die by the way who are you sir?

Voice: You’re really a curious lad huh but that’s normal lets just say i’m the guy who always carry scythe in your world. Look at the pond and you will see how you die.

*kaito watches the pond*

Kaito: *laughs* You sure a lively one huh sir. So you just grant my wish and at the same time kills me. Literally hit 2 bird in one big stone. I appreciate you make my wish came true.

Voice: I predict you would say something like that. That’s what i like in you. That meteor will worth about 500 million yen in your world.  *laughs* Shall we begin the judgement?

Kaito: I guess my family is going do fine now. Thank you very much and yes anytime sir!

Voice: Look at the pond again.

*Kaito saw a skull*

~The moment their “eyes” meet the judgement begin one look of the person eye shinigami can judge them instantly.

Voice: You passed your memory will be wipe out and you will reincarnated as human.

Kaito: That’s interesting and what if i fail sir?

Voice: You will reincarnated as monster. Good luck hope you’re the one i was waiting for.

Kaito: Hmm looks like a big mission sir but okay. You can rely on me!

The shinigami appears behind him and brings down the scythe.

*Other shinigami appears*

Shinigami 1: He didn’t even feel strong fear the whole time in the judgement room.

Shinigami 2: He looks cute! He’s very calm though he didn’t even know where he is going. *chuckles* 

Shinigami 3: Looks like you really put your cards on him huh.

Voice: Mind your own businesses guys dont just peek into somebody’s judgement chamber.

Shinigami 2: Ehh what a bum i just finished judging mine and saw you having fun talking to a human. Thought i would peek a little okay bye!

*Other shinigami disappears*
