The Pillar of Design

The roof breaks open with the rise of dawn

I fly even though my fear is strong

The dust of a creature so fair and pure

It fuels my soul like firewood

Feathers of the heavens sprout from my back

Winged Fire Troll declaring attack

She laughs and jumps and squeals in glee

“Young Fire Troll this is your destiny”

Clouds parting now as I soar higher

The ground’s but a painting I admire

The blue up above has turned to black

“A tool of war is all you lack”

Faster and faster I soar onward

If it means joy I’ll take up any sword

Pixen Queen flying next to me

“Come along now and you’ll see what I mean”

Mountain growing closer closer

Wings begin to fade from my shoulder

“This is the Pillar of Design

It rewards the strength of those who climb”

“So though you’ll have to lose those wings

You’ll regain them once you see everything

And then they’ll be ten times as fast

Those are the wings called “Lancerghast.”

I slip gently to the bottom of the ground

At the foot of the mountain I can only look around

I see a land as barren as hell

It’s dry across the ground on which I fell

“This is the birthplace of your true self

A scorched cracked land you’ve never felt

Enter the mountain and you will find

A series of challenges you must climb”

“On your way you’ll find many tools

To fight and flee as Pixens should

But only at the top will you find the one

To ignite yourself as a glowing sun”

“The one with the power to strike down

The Mirrorman lurking all around

The one that allows you to become

A Pixen like me who can soar above”

With a moment of hesitation I accepted my quest

For my future self this is for the best

Darkness awaits and I am afraid

But I do this so that I may lay

Dashing forward the rocks close me in

The light is gone but I glisten

And so everything now begins

In this enclosed dark land of sin
