Chapter 0:

Prologue

Beyond the Margin

Guerrez Corp.

One of the largest corporations in the whole world, holding most shares in many private sectors. Its net worth is currently 9 trillion and continues to grow every month.

Mr. and Mrs. Guerrez are the proud owners of the corporation and seem to enjoy publicity so much that the media knows every Knick and knackies of their every move.

Despite their demanding schedules of managing the company and keeping up with media updates, they still constantly find time for their three beloved children. They manage work, commitments, and never-ending to-do lists, but they never forget to prioritize the most significant times.

They create a cocoon of warmth and support for their children with unshakable love and dedication, ensuring that they feel adored and respected. Their presence, albeit short at times, leaves a permanent mark on the hearts of their children, reminding them that they are always loved, no matter what.

At least that’s what the media portrays.

Carlos Guerrez, 24. Male.

He is the eldest of the three and is expected to inherit their parent's seat in the company following their parents' passing. He studies at Harvord University taking three courses with a concentration in business administration. He's a total fantasy for most women. He's like a walking work of art, with a body that could compete with any model's, and his acting abilities are exceptional, anyone who sees him will be impressed. Which is why during his leisure minutes, he is an aspiring model and actor that often gets offers from various directors and model agencies. However, he turns down these opportunities as his parents only want him to work within the family corporation. For security purposes they say but, what do I know? I’m just a narrator.

Many people could describe him in various ways but he is especially known with his lengthy lashes that frame his piercing blue eyes, which attract everyone's attention with their depth and intensity. His luscious red lips, as though begging to be kissed according to some women, are enticing. His perfectly pointy nose gives a touch of delicacy to his looks. And his perfect and glowing skin belies his wealthy upbringing. He's the epitome of perfection, a sight that leaves any woman utterly captivated and head over heels in love.

Aico Guerrez, 12. Female.

Despite the stereotypical mindset toward middle children, Aico is no fun. Not at all. She is a very cold person who only has her nose on books and only pays attention to lectures. She stood amid a world of brilliant colors and active talk, seemingly existing in her own realm. With a sense of apprehension about her, she emanated a coldness that kept others at bay. She sought solace in the written word, finding sanctuary in the realms of knowledge and imagination, her nose continuously buried in books.

She doesn’t have friends, and everyone avoids her due to her uneasy aura. Despite her solitary manner, she does have redeeming qualities like her looks. There was an unmistakable beauty about her. Her gleaming locks cascaded like liquid gold, capturing the light and glittering with each movement. Her porcelain-like, light skin glowed with an ethereal brightness, as though touched by moonlight. Her rosy cheeks, tinged with a slight scarlet, lent a hint of warmth to her otherwise chilly appearance. Her long, delicate eyelashes framed her piercing blue eyes, which were windows into a world of secret sentiments and unknown depths. They had a fascinating attraction that drew others in while also acting as a barrier that kept them at bay. Her pointed nose, which added a touch of refinement to her youthful face, underlined her distinct beauty.

She is one of the top three most beautiful young children on Earth and has attracted several potential suitors. No one caught her attention, not that we were expecting there’d be one, would there? She devoted her complete attention to her classes, which led her to become an advanced student. She has successfully completed at least 10 courses and has been the valedictorian for each one. Yeah, she’s just twelve, and she still made my diploma look like it's just a piece of paper.

But a different tale was unfolding behind this enticing façade. People avoided her, possibly because they were scared by her intelligence and the enigmatic atmosphere that enveloped her. She became a victim of clandestine bullying, with murmurs and taunts reverberating in the shadows of her existence. But there was a need for connection beneath the surface, a desire to break free from the seclusion that had become her norm. Behind this outwardly cold and distant girl lies a world of untapped potential, only waiting to be discovered by those who ventured to look beneath the surface.

Kuro Guerrez, 7. Female.

She is the brightest of the three, her spirit refused to be dulled by the shadows of disappointment put upon her, making her a dazzling beacon of tenacity and intelligence but the parents don’t seem to like that. Behind the scenes, she is subjected to scolding and beatings from her parents, who are overwhelmed by the weight of their unmet expectations. The root of these scolding is often for not being able to score high enough on aptitude tests to be able to advance to college. She advanced to 3rd year high school though, and if no one else is, I’m proud of that. The elder children seem to treat Kuro differently though. When all we see are harsh words and harsh treatment from her parents, Aico and Carlos treat her like a normal child. Like a normal 7-year-old child. She finds peace and the freedom to be a youngster in the presence of her loving elder siblings. They whisk her away to amusement parks, where laughing fills the air and her effervescent personality can truly shine. Her eyes sparkle with excitement in such moments, a little respite from the harsh reality that awaits her return. Her siblings' unflinching support teaches her to value her own worth and to treasure the moments of youthful innocence that are truly hers. They’d treat her with ice cream, or go play in the arcade with her. Nonetheless, Kuro still experiences being a child when out of her parent’s radar, so her life isn’t that messed up if you’d ask me.

Children deserve to be children, right?

On-screen, the Guerrez family is loved by the netizens… or just the parents, but who am I to judge? They are seen as a happy and perfect family, and they are willing to do anything to make it remain that way.
