Special Technique

“Alright… Let’s win this.” Alet take a deep breath.

They walk up toward the arena as everyone starts cheering loud.

“… anddd our finalist, Angkara!” The announcer speaks as they come out from the changing room.

“Since this is the final. There will be a new rule. Every fighter only gets three life points, each point will be gone if you fall to the ground. If every life point is out then you are out!” Explain the announcer.

“Ughh… need to keep our feet steady.” Alet gulped.

“Yeah. It’s you okay, we got this. I can see you are improving in our training in a week. Feels like I don’t have anything to worry about.” Io speaks with a bright smile.

“Well, thanks to you. You make me feel confident to fight in close range.”.

Io answer it with a thumbs up and a smile.

Their elevator stops and they step forward. Flyn and Fiona are already standing there. Flyn with his legendary star sword and Fiona with her energy sniper rifle. These legendary weapons are the most unique weapons because they are crafted by combining three crafting techniques from each race. Flyn’s star sword is a stone sword that each strike will make the sword sharper. Some say this sword can tear the fabric of space even make everything on its path like it never existed. Fiona is known for her sharp eye. She can use any kind of ranged weapon especially guns with 99.9% accuracy. Some say she was able to cast a time stop spell in a brief moment before she shot. But this is only a rumor and her technique remains unknown.

“There he is. Our Dione Ruba. I’m bringing you this.” Flyn throws a weapon case with white color and a name ‘Dione’ carved on it.

“What is this?” Ask Io.

“Open it. You will find out what it is.”.

Io open the case and inside is a pair of gloves with a golden armlet on it.

“Use it. And take off your knight gloves, it does not really suit you anyway.” Says Flyn.

Io wear the glove and suddenly the gloves start to glow. After a while, the glove makes a clicking sound and it starts to cover Io’s hands with some armor.

“Oh! Now I remember. Alet, hit me with your sword.” Io sound excited.

“What? No! What are you even thinking?” Alet confused.

“Just do it.”.

“Alright. Here goes nothing.”.

Alet swung her sword towards Io's right hand and her sword bounces back.

“What!?”.

“Pretty cool right! This is my weapon! A pair of gloves that can create a magical shield around my hand.”.

“Wow. That is something.”.

“Yes. And I also remember that this glove is able to change its shape or size.”.

“I see. Well I guess I shall not worry about your safety.” Alet sound relieved.

“All fighters ready! And fight!” The announcer starts the fight.

“Let’s do this!” Flyn charges forward.

“Come at me!” Io also charges forward.

Both of them fought with full spirit and their weapons clashed. Alet casts several enhancement spells towards Io but before she can finish a bullet flies near her feet.

“Remember, this is a duo on duo fight. How you face me.” Said Fiona cocked her gun.

Alet accepted her suggestion and started to cast fireballs and other long range spells. Both of them were running and dodging each strike. The match started intensely, everyone who watched the match didn’t make any sound.

“Flyn! Now!” Shout Fiona.

Flyn swung his sword and its edge glowed with bright yellow color. Soon a strong and sharp wind came out of it.

“Alet! Watch out!” Shouted Io after seeing it fly towards Alet.

Alet jumps from the ground and she looks back at Fiona. All she saw was sharp eyes looking toward her. That eyes making everything feels slowing down even like stopping in place. In a matter of seconds a bullet pierced her left shoulder. The sound of Alet’s body makes Io run towards her.

“Hey! Are you okay?” Io grabs her body.

“Huh? I don’t know how I feel. It’s happening so fast.” Alet looks confused.

A buzzer sound can be heard as Alet’s life point decreased by one.

“You got hit and fell to the ground. That's what happened. Let’s try to focus our strike on Flyn first.” Io try to make a plan while helping Alet to stand up.

Their fight starts again like in the beginning. This time Alet throws a wind dagger toward Flyn as he busy with Io. Flyn got hit and he start to change his target. Flyn move very fast form right to left just like Io while he activate his peak. She can keep up with his movement and succed to block his attack. She also try to keep her awareness toward Fiona who stand far behind. After a while Alet’s temper start to rise.

“I hate this situation even though Io trying to disturbed Fiona but her stare is still haunting me. Just fell down already!” Her face starts to turn serious and she tries to strike back.

Once again her plan fails. Her sword is blocked by Flyn and her body sent upward to the air after Flyn strikes her back. Fiona shot her rifle and hit her on the chest, near her heart.

“ALET!!” Io runs toward her as her body falls down from the sky.

He ran just in time to catch her. In that time Alet sees her memory from her life. Soon after watching her memories, she saw Io standing in front of her. When she tries to reach him, he disappears and reappears in a different spot. Around her is white plain field with a blurry structure. This place is the middle part that connects the real world with the Afterlife, a place where the soul can rest in peace. Chasing Io non-stop and she finally chose to give up. But suddenly Io appeared on her side and tapped her shoulder.

“You want to live with me right? Open your eyes.”.

That last word makes her feel a pulling motion and she starts to ‘wake up’.

“Alet… Alet…” Io shakes her body and his tears fall to her cheeks.

“Io… I- I’m here.” Her voice sounds shaky.

“Good thing you are alright. Sobs.” He hugged her tight.

“Hey, I think it's working.” Says Flyn.

“Right… Get ready, don’t tell me I haven’t warned you.” Said Fiona.

“Io, why are you crying? I’m still here.” Alet wiped his tears.

“I- I thought I lost you. I called you several times and all I see is- is…” Io cried so hard and was unable to continue his word.

“There, there. Come on, we have a tournament to win. Let's save our energy.” She patted his head and wiped the remaining tears from his face.

“Y-you are right. Let’s focus on winning this tournament.” He started to calm down.

“This time, I will never leave your side.” Promise Io.

“Yeah, that’s good. Just do whatever feels right to you. Let's finish this.” Alet’s eyes started to glow.

Looking at Alet’s eyes Io can’t believe what will happen. He knows that she must be activated her peak. Without worrying to ask her, he faces back toward Flyn and Fiona.

“Are we set? Let’s do this!” Shout Flyn.

This time when Flyn charges toward Io, he is unaware about the Alet earth pillar spell. The pillar comes out from the ground and sends Flyn to the sky. Because he is not ready, he can’t properly adjust his body to land and hit the ground, the buzzer went off.

“Oh you gotta be kidding me. I told you I have warned you!” Fiona sounded pissed.

“Hehe sorry, I'm just testing it out.”.

“Well you better be.”.

“Yeah, yeah. It is working alright.”.

This is the secret technique that can only be pulled off by the immortal Silumas. They can reincarnate a person's real soul by sending their soul near the Afterlife or even bring it there for real. This technique will pull a person's soul back to its body as soon as the soul cleanse from any ‘dirt’ that covers it.

Their fight continues with Alet performing fully with her magic. Her close combat is also being used to strike Fiona that stands far away. Since Alet activated her peak, she moves faster and she can perform a difficult spell that she was unable to do before. Fiona loses one of her life points after Alet hits her with an earth fist spell.

“Well, well. This is how it is supposed to happen. Reine will complete their spirit bond.” Says Fiona trying to stand up.
