Meeting Leonard

Genji's Pov:

Brenda choked the food she just put in her mouth so I gave her a cup of water. Getting back her breath she shouted "For real? Terra's great academy!!" "Yep! The knights from yesterday reported what happened here for his majesty and the prince insisted on meeting you personally and acknowledging you in front of the people of the capital. It's a great honor for both of you, I'm really proud."
'So I am now a few steps away?' I thought. Brenda took my hand with excitement "Did you hear that, Gin? I will become the queen of Tyrranosia and restore Amoralia's sunshine!" "Brenda! Shut it!" Suddenly shouted madam Lila which caused both of us to get stunned for a moment "Never pronounce Amoralia's name ever again. You might not know this but it's something forbidden here." "But mom! We all know Amoralia was greater than the current Tyrranosia!" "Yes I know and I feel really bad about what happened, but rules are rules and if you do a mistake your head-" she grazed her fingernail on her neck as a knife in meaning "Your head will fall".

The atmosphere was quite tense so I decided to change the topic "Madam Lila, you said the prince had acknowledged us after hearing from the knights who attacked us yesterday. Isn't it a bit fast for the news to reach the prince?" The lady chuckled making both of us confused before shocking us "Yesterday you say? I'll correct it for you, it's the day before yesterday! That's cause you guys slept for more than a full day! You both used a great amount of mana recklessly so your bodies needed more rest than usual that's all." Both I and Brenda paled hearing her mother's words as she continued "Brenda used more than Gin that's why she slept for a longer time, and for Gin your body looked fine but the effects all came later. As long as you train on using a higher amount your body will adapt to that and you can use greater amounts with no danger of falling on the battlefield. With your current state, I'm afraid a battle with a giant cerbrus gonna get you dead." Brenda complained "But I already killed one-" "That one was weaker than normal due to the seal in that area, and you fainted right after defeating it so in other circumstances you might not survive it."

We finished our breakfast and helped in the house chores and once we were done Brenda had an idea. "Gin Gin! Why don't we go to train a little? The knights acknowledge our power that we couldn't control, so what would they do if we were able to control it? Also, I wanna see your powers! It's not fair that some bunch of knights did and I didn't!"
After a lot of nagging and begging, I accepted the suggestion and left with Brenda to that dead forest again. Madam Lila said that working on our mana amount is going to help us get stronger so why not since it will be helpful to meet Nana?
Brenda was in a great mood that day, she tied her hair on a ponytail with a white flower ribbon. She really looked charming and bright.

As we reached our destination, Brenda started giving me tips "Since that gun wasn't able to hold that much of your power than let's go for another weapon. Tho I wanted you to look like... Nevermind! Firstly you should control the flow of your mana" and with that, a small flame appeared in the air "Focus on this fire and see how the energy flow on my body like the blood cycle" the small flame started moving slowly in front of Brenda in a cycle similar to the blood circulation making me give a conclusion "So the mana circulate in one's body like blood, that's why I was able to use it while trying to feel the flow of my blood." Brenda looked surprised and asked, "Gin, do you read science and anatomy books?" "It's a common thing-" I was about to say that it was a common thing to know in high and middle schools but I stopped mid-way "Well my father was a doctor so he told me a lot." Since the girl didn't look a lot about it I brushed it off.
I took a deep breath and closed my eyes to focus, then started the same way as the day before yesterday and I heard Brenda cheering "Yay! You finally did it" I looked and saw a big droplet of water moving in front of me. I started guiding it slowly and it moved the way I wanted it.
I felt happy that I made a new achievement yet before I can comment the droplet exploded causing me to get wet and Brenda to laugh at my state before using her fire to dry me off. We spent the whole morning on me learning how to control that water droplet before leaving home for lunch.

At the garden, we saw a tall guy who looked around fifteen taking care of the flowers we planted again after that accident. Brenda ran faster and waved for him "Leo!" The guy did the same and came in our direction "Yo! Berrindaa! My lovely sister I miss you!" I expected a heartwarming reunion from their dramatic facial features but just as they reached each other an explosion blew up almost burning me and the garden we had a hard time fixing. It seems those siblings have such a "special" way to welcome each other.

"Brenda! Leonard! How many times should I say that you should compete far from the garden?!" Shouted madam Lila from the window "Sorry Mom!" Both siblings replied.
I came closer after the smoke dispersed and took a better look at the guy. He had silver hair and blue eyes with pale skin like Madam Lila, so probably Mr. Valentin has dark skin, orange eyes, and silver hair.
The guy looked at me suspiciously when Brenda introduced me to him "Brother, this is Gin. Gin, this is my brother, Leonard."
I was going to shake hands with Leonard when he shrugged his shoulders and went to the house direction ignoring me. Brenda got enraged at his act and shouted "Leonard! Come back and apologize to Gin!" "Brenda it's okay... I guess he just doesn't trust me." Brenda pouted "Humph! I will teach him a lesson if he does anything bad for you. Just make sure to tell me!"

We entered the house and I heard Leonard talking to his mother "Mom! Who is that kid? Are you sure he is a human?" "Yeah, why? Anything wrong with him?" I was sure he was going to say something ill but he changed his words when he noticed me around "I just don't like kids who get close to Brenda. They are going to hurt her once they know that she might become a demon-" "I already know about that and I don't care." I cut him and continued "Brenda saved me from a certain death and madam Lila sheltered me and both are taking care of me. I'm still a kid so I can't pay them back but once I'm older and stronger, I'll make sure to return the kindness." The mother looked happy with my words while the son sounded pissed that I won the first argument.

We all sat at the table and started eating. Leonard kept telling us about his achievements since he joined the knights and his mother was happy while his sister had an annoyed look on her face. And not before long, she hit the table and stood up "Brother Leo! I always loved and respected you, especially with the fact that you joined the knights at a young age but what's then? We all know that the Tyrant king and his army are bad guys and we people should unite and make a revolution against his abusive rules! Yet you stand just beside him as if he did nothing to harm you or your family-" "Brenda that's enough!" Shouted the mother bringing silence to the room.

The atmosphere was so tense and I couldn't bear to eat in such weather. Thinking of something, I remembered today's training so I just brought it to the lady of the house "Madam Lila! I was able to control some of my mana today!" Brenda suddenly forgot about the previous topic and stated "Mom! I am a great teacher, aren't I? I was able to teach Gin how to master his mana and he seems to be a water mage." Lila sounded confused "But the spell he cast a few days ago was of a different kind. It was clear it wasn't water magic." Leonard added with sarcasm "I'm sure it's some dirty trick he pulled not to show his real goals!"
