World 2.9

There aren't many dishes that need washing, so Yuri decides to clean them by hand (though really, that's a mere justification; she doesn’t want to accidentally break the dishwasher, nor does she want to ask Kaoru for help when she'd insisted on doing this). That done, she goes into the (absurdly spacious) pantry and contemplates her options.

What to make, what to make... cookies? No, that'd take longer than I'd like. Baking in general would take too long. Umm...what dessert recipes do I know that use a stovetop? Pudding?

A jar of peanut butter catches her eye, and like lightning, an idea strikes. An old recipe she'd learned from her mom, who'd learned it from her grandmother.

Yes! My Kaoru-chan doesn’t have any allergies, so I think Kaoru-kun here wouldn’t either.

She reaches up and plucks the jar off the shelf.

Yeah! If it's just a really tiny batch, it should be fine!

And so, she sets to work.

Kaoru hovers against the island and watches Yuri carefully as she measures out peanut butter, vanilla, butter, and powdered sugar, then combines them. She digs around until she finds a pot, then uses the stovetop to melt a decent amount of chocolate- on low heat, to be safe. And while she waits for the chocolate to melt, she begins rolling the peanut butter mixture into balls.

It looks pretty easy, though the aforementioned mixture seems quite crumbly.

Kaoru crosses his arms to stop himself from taking over- if Yuri-chan insisted on doing this herself, then he'd let her gosh darn it!

Once the chocolate is melted, Yuri uses a fork to carefully dip the rolled balls into it one by one, coating them completely, before letting them roll onto a good sized piece of parchment paper.

Once all the balls are coated and set, she uses the same fork to drizzle the remaining chocolate across them.

"Aaaaand they're done!"

"That was fast!" Kaoru exclaims in disbelief- if he hadn't just been watching, he'd think Yuri had used some kind of witchcraft to conjure those tiny treats. "Are you even human?"

Yuri blushes and turns her head away. "Y-yes! I'm just a normal human person- I swear!"

Hah...even flustered like this, Yuri-chan is just too cute! Kaoru wisely keeps his thoughts to himself and instead walks over to grab a peanut butter ball and toss it into his mouth. Oh SNAP this is delicious! For this, if nothing else, I absolutely cannot let anyone take Yuri-chan away from me!
