Chapter 28:

Tank Boss

Hacker Class

TANK BOSS (lv ??)

ATTACK:??

DEFENCE:??

MOVEMENT:??

"Why can't I see its stats?" Alden wondered to himself as he carefully watched the orcs that were present in the dungeon.

"You seem worried, human, " The tank said, as it slowly walked a full circle around him. "You should be. You've gotten this far by luck. The Tanks you fought before this were all weak. Now, you will have a chance to fight my perfect creations." The tank held out its hand to point at the dozen or so Tanks standing nearby. They were all tall, bulky, and looked far more intimidating than the other Tanks.

They began walking forward, their steps were slow and relaxed. Alden felt his eyes widen as he viewed the level of the orcs before him. Most of them ranged from level 10 to level 13. Alden grew unsure as to whether he could fight the orcs.

Before worrying about that, Alden decided to dump his 5 points into stamina. He would need a bit more stamina to fight such a large number of tanks.

Alden previously had 12 EXP points before defeating the level 7 tank but after he managed to drop the level 7 tank he got 6 more EXP. Alden then defeated 5 level 3 tanks which had gotten him 15 EXP points. Thus he currently had about 33 EXP. Alden estimated he would get about 10 EXP from each Tank he killed here so in total that was like 150 EXP.

Alden felt his mouth watering at the thought of the rewards. Since he required 70 EXP to level up. That meant that he currently needed 37 EXP to reach level 9. 150 - 37 was 113 so he knew he would probably need 80 EXP to level up afterward. 150 - 80 was 80 and hopefully, a single more orc came so he could reach level 11 and have 15 points to dump into his stats. Then he'd be ready to fight the Boss.

Alden had a feeling the boss would stand by and wait for him to grow exhausted before attacking. That was fine, he'd be ready for him anyways.

Alden cautiously took two leaps back and settled on a high building to buy himself some time. He needed a plan.

"I need a way to fight from afar..." Alden wondered as he went through his skills. Besides PUPPETEER, Alden had no other long-range skill. "Do I have to forget about the rewards?"

Alden watched the tanks stroll closer and shook his head, "No, I need to get that reward, even if it kills me. "

Alden thought for a few seconds about how he could use his available skills to win.

"Ah!" Alden exclaimed. "Why had I not thought of this before?" He got up in a hurry and looked at the tanks that were a distance away. "I'll have to focus quite a bit here, though."

~

Alden held his dagger in his hand and cast a gaze at the tanks. The rhythmic thrumming of his heart was like a drum being played. His mouth felt dry, he could really die here if he wasn't careful. Alden felt a thumb rub on the fancy handle of the dagger. He wasn't sure if he could use his power like that but he knew he had to try. It was the only way he could win.

Alden activated GRAVITY and imbued his energy into the dagger. Alden then threw the dagger down below and focused his mind to control it. The dagger kept increasing speed and it grew heavier as it neared the tank that stood just below the building.

The tank which the dagger was aimed at noticed too late and the dagger cracked its helmet-like head and flew through its head before getting stuck in the ground.

"Nice, " Alden exclaimed, his toothy smile appearing once again.

[SYSTEM ALERT!]

GRAVITY BLADE(lv 1)

"Nicer!" Alden said, his smile widening. Now he had a higher chance in this fight. He felt the 0,1% chance of living had skipped to 1%. That, to him, was real progress.
