Chapter 3:

This is the Rebellion?

How an ordinary introvert became the most powerful sorceress in another world.

Moricia held Heidi in her arms. The glyphs were securely in her pouch. The spell books, and a couple history books were stuffed in a backpack. She'd had to leave the rest behind. With more time she could have gotten everything gathered up properly but there was no chance that eleven missing celestials, twelve if you counted the one she'd killed, would go unnoticed for long and she didn't intend to be in either hideaway when their comrades came looking for them.

She glanced at the small human in her arms. That magic power had been... unusual. Was it a side effect of the healing draught? She shook her head. It was going to take someone smarter than her to figure it out. Fortunately, she knew two candidates and they would both be awaiting her return.

She moved deeper into the great forest. Using her tail too erase any traces of her path as she went. She paused for a moment, quickly hiding in a thicket. She thought that she'd heard something but nothing was in sight.

She waited, wary of a possible invisibility spell. Would the Celestials try to follow her discreetly while she was carrying someone who'd slain so many? No. She calmed herself. If a celestial found her, knowing what had happened, they'd strike to kill. They wouldn't want the human to fall into the hands of their enemies.

Her thoughts were interrupted by her breasts being groped. She looked down. The human seemed to be unconscious still. She was drooling and pressing her head into her bosom while her hands squeezed. Moricia decided to ignore the slight discomfort and continued her journey.

She'd almost reached her destination when the human stirred.

"Where?" she asked, groggily.

"We are deep within the Verdreht Wood," Moricia answered. "Can you stand?"

"I think so," Heidi answered. Moricia put her down, gently.

"So... are you taking me back to your place?" Heidi asked.

"In a manner of speaking," Moricia answered. "I'm taking you to our rebellion's headquarters."

They continued walking with Heidi deep in thought. Where was this place? How could she get home? And weren't demons supposed to be hyper sexual? Where exactly was the sultry banter followed by her losing her virginity?

"We're here," Moricia stated. Heidi looked around. They seemed to be in the middle of a clearing with trees around them and a large boulder.

"You live in the middle of the woods?" Heidi asked.

Moricia smirked and pushed the boulder, visibly straining. It revealed a hole just big enough for someone Moricia's size to squeeze into with a rope ladder hanging down.

"I'm going first," Moricia said. "It'll save some trouble. Follow after immediately. The stone will move back into place shortly."

Heidi followed Moricia down. Sure enough, the boulder slid back into place over them. Heidi couldn't see a thing on the way down. She just followed the ladder down until she couldn't find the next step. Then she hesitated before letting go. There was a very slight drop for her to get to the ground.

Ahead, she could see the faint light of a torch. "Stay behind me," Moricia cautioned. They walked forward. Then a blade flashed in front of them.

"Let us through, Bomya," Moricia said.

Heidi watched as a tall, green-skinned woman with noticeable fangs, pointed ears and dark hair tied back in a ponytail stepped forward. She was almost as tall as Moricia. Had Heidi accidentally stepped into a world of tall, muscular, Amazonian women? Not that she would complain, it sounded like paradise.

"And why exactly are we bringing strays here?" Bomya asked. Her dark eyes looked over Heidi with suspicion.

"The human is a powerful sorceress," Moricia explained. "I'm going to take her to Camilla and Elaine. Besides, didn't we bring you in as a stray? What did the other orcs call you again? An unhinged liability?"

"Point made," Bomya stated. "Go on ahead."

Moricia moved away but Heidi lingered back for a moment. "I'm Heidi, Heidi Schulz. Nice to meet you Miss Bromya." With that she hurried to follow Moricia.

There were small torches lining the walls leading into the cavern. It wasn't anything close to bright, but it was enough for her to see.

The corridor led to a larger chamber with some branching paths. Rooms? A Maze?

"I'm home!" Moricia called out.

Immediately, Heidi heard what sounded like something zooming. A small woman, not much taller than 142 cm, came rushing over. She had sleek, brown fur, large canine-like ears, a snout and a tail. When she ran, she scrambled around on all fours.

"Hi!" she cried out. "Nice to see you back! Hey, you brought gifts!" The excitable woman ran over to Heidi. "You're new." She ran around Heidi, prodding her with her snout and sniffing. "What even are you? I don't know what species smells like you."

"Human, this is Contessa Wilhelmina Vanessa Archduchess of the Chiest house," Moricia introduced. "She's a werewolf."

You can just call me Wil," Wil stated. "Everyone else does." She vigorously shook Heidi's hand.

"I'm Heidi Schulz," Heidi responded. "You can just call me Heidi."

"Wil, can you tell me where Elaine and Camilla are?" Moricia asked.

"That room," Wil pointed to the upper left. "They made me leave so they could have sex. They said I wasn't allowed anywhere near there for the next hour."

"How long ago was that?" Moricia asked.

"Fifty minutes but they're still going strong," Wil's ears perked up. She sniffed the air. "They might be a little longer than ten minutes."

Moricia sighed. "All right, Human. I guess I'll introduce you to everyone else first. Wil, where are Cocuita and Ho'liny?"

"Ho'liny is in the infirmary taking stock of her supplies," Wil answered. "Cocuita said she needed to stretch her wings and went off somewhere to fly."

Moricia nodded. "Human, follow me."

"Wait just a moment," Heidi said. "You told me this was your rebellion headquarters. So, it's you and..." Heidi quickly counted in her head "six other people?"

"Seven now," Moricia said. "Now come."

"But... But I haven't..." Heidi swallowed her protests and followed Moricia. Wil bounced along behind them, wagging her tail.

The Infirmary had a pair of crude beds set up. Inside was a very short woman, only 119 cm tall, with spotted green skin, long ears that stretched sideways and large red eyes. She glanced up as the trio entered.

"Human, this is Ho'liny, she's our cleric."

"A cleric with no supplies," Ho'liny added. "Nice to meet you, Miss Human."

"It's Heidi," Heidi corrected. "Moricia is just identifying me by what I am."

"Then I guess I would be Miss Goblin," Ho'liny said. "Sorry about that."

"It's great to have a new comrade though!" Wilhelmina stated.

"But I haven't actually agreed to anything!" Heidi protested. "I... I don't know why you're all fighting or how I got here or anything. I..." she glanced at the three faces suddenly eyeing her very closely. "I'm sorry... for yelling."

"Ladies, let me talk with our guest," Moricia said. Hu... Heidi, follow me. I think I can persuade you to help us." Heidi followed Moricia, glancing apologetically at Wil and Ho'liny as she went.
