Chapter 30:

The Lunastray Manor Maze

Draconum Familia(Draft)

The crescent moon shone brightly over the village of Khrom, even as the hour reached its peak its silver glow lit up every corner.

At such a late hour most would be embracing their slumber, but a young demon boy and a cheeky black and white fox stood at the outskirts of Khrom awaiting the return of those who were fighting for their lives just beyond the forests.

"Come on Eyr," Kukiri groaned in exhaustion, her voice distorted with a big yawn. "Let's head back, I bet your parents are missing you. And I for one miss my bed."

Eyr clenched his hand into a tight fist so hard it began to shake.

"My parents are dead." He growled as his teeth gritted against each other. "And I would be too if Toan didn't save me and everyone here by killing the Chimera."

"I...I didn't." Kukiri apologized hastily.

"It's fine, all that matters is that I'm not moving, not until Toan gets back. No matter how long it takes!"

Lyn wandered down yet another hall, her blade clenched tightly in her hand ready for anyone foolish enough to get in her way.

"This place appears to be infinite, there's most likely a Spatial Sage or Mage nearby, I bet Aceil would have no problems dealing with it, then he would come by and swoop me off my feet. He'd look into my eyes with his own and say in that groffy voice of his. 'Oh baby, I'm so madly in love with you, it hurts when you're away, so please let's never depart from each other again, also let's make babies, like six or seven of them.' if that actually happened, I'd have no choice to oblige, before I knew it we'd both be naked, he'd grab me with those huge muscular arms pinning me to the floor and...and-"

"Well, don't keep me waiting, what happens next?" Aceil spoke as he pinned both of Lyn's arms above her head against the wall behind her.

"A..Aceil, I didn't know you were here." Lyn squeaked like a mouse.

"Of course, I am. I must say, hearing you talk about me like that is making me feel...wild." He said as he took of Lyn's breastplate with his free hand.

Lyn writhed as Aceils soft hands tickled her flesh.

"How odd, I thought your hands would be calloused since you're a close range fighter." Lyn said meekly as her cheeks flushed red.

"Of course they are. How could I forget such a simple thing." Aceil spoke, but instead of his own voice, a wicked sound escaped his lips.

Before she could react, Lyn felt a sharp pain shoot into her stomach as Aceil thrusted a tri-bladed dagger into her gut.

"How unfortunate, I was hoping to do that after we were done." Aceil's face twisted and warped into that of a deformed man his eyes were unlevel, his face covered in pus filled blisters, most of his hair had fallen out and what remained was almost translucent, his teeth were rotted, and his lips were cut so he could never close them.

"Oh well, I guess it doesn't really matter if your alive now does it, as long as you're still warm."

Lyn fell to the ground as she tried to stop the bleeding, every time she reached for her card pain shot up her stomach, she couldn't even speak without pain.

"How very pretty you are, to think, I have beat you before you even drew your blade. Your friends will find your defiled corpse and think you gave yourself to me in hopes of surviving. Like a coward." The deformed man burst into laughter.

"Rune Of Unyielding Agony." Sieg shouted as he tossed up a talisman marked with a Rune and threw his stiletto through it and into the deformed man before he swiftly kicked him away from Lyn and crouched beside her placing another talisman on her forehead. "Rune Of Deathless Sleep."

Lyn passed out flat, but her body ceased bleeding.

"How badass!!! Seriously how cool!" The deformed man said as he pulled the stiletto out of himself with no effort. "Your white hair and those beautiful blue eyes, combine those with your handsome face and awesome powers you're so cool. I really wanna kill you. And then I'll use my power of illusions to make everyone think I'm you, imagine how much girls I could get with your face. Of course, if you actually showed up that would be bad, which is why I have to kill you."

"I don't get it, how are you still standing? That Rune should've taken care of you."

"Are you blind? Look at me, every day of my life is 'Unyielding Agony'."

"What a sad existence, if you weren't a degenerate scumbag, I'd feel bad for you. But that just isn't the case, which is why I am gonna kill you, and I'm gonna make sure it hurts so bad that all the pain you've experienced so far will feel like a vacation in comparison."

"Try me!"

A blur dashed around the mansion in a rapid search for its target.

"Hah! What does Sieg know, running through here like this is the best choice. I'll have the whole place scouted in no time!" Nosora spoke full of himself.

"I sincerely doubt that." An eerie voice echoed as the halls began to turn upside down.

The distortion caused Nosora to lose footing resulting in him falling down, or up?

"What's going on?" He spoke as he fell to his knees unable to stand without feeling queasy as the halls twisted before him.

"These halls are my Spatial domain, I control every aspect of them, you will never find that which you seek, and you shall never escape. You will remain in a constant state of distortion for the rest of your life."

Nosora cupped his hand over his mouth to hold back his vomit.

"So, you're the one responsible for this maze? If I beat you then, it will stop being so impossible to navigate?" Nosora said in no state to do that which he spoke of.

"Of course, however, if you move even in the slightest you will just fall down again, people aren't meant to see the world as you currently do." The voice continued.

"Oh, keep talking."

"This is hopeless, you can't even see me, I am invisible in my domain."

"Yeah, I can't see you." Nosora admitted. "But I hear you crystal clear!"

Nosora closed his eyes and punched the source of the voice right in the face.

Nosora couldn't see him, but he felt as the Smiler's jaw dislocated from his fist.

"Hah! Take that! I can beat you with my eyes closed, and Imma bout to prove it."

********

"I wonder how Nosora is doing?" Lilac said to herself. "I hope he's doing better than me."

She sat in the middle of what felt like an infinity of halls, each were filled with twists and turns.

"Giving up, are you? Come on, I told you one of these halls has me in it, if you find and defeat me you and your friends will have no problem getting to Master. Of course, every step you take the more distorted the halls will become until you completely lose your mind. I'll give you a hint. I'm a lot closer than you think I am.' The voice that terrorized Lilac spoke in an eerie way, she was able to guess he was the Spatial Sage/Mage with his Spatial Domain spell but something else bothered her.

"Come on I won't lose to my brother again!" The voice complained.

Which was what bothered Lilac, the voice had mentioned its brother twice to her, perhaps there was two Spatial Sages/Mages if so they would likely need to both be defeated in order to cancel their spell, but if one was beat before the other, it would allow the other to escape and with Spatial Domain it would be impossible to find him which would in turn make it impossible to find the Lunastray Master.

They had to be defeated at the same time.

"Has anyone else encountered a Spatial Sage/Mage," Lilac whispered into her card causing its runes to light up. "If so, it means there is two, it's likely we have to beat them at the same time or the last one will escape with Spatial Magic and We'll never find him."

"No cheating!" The voice said as it destroyed the card. "Now play along nicely, I won't lose to him again, I can keep my prisoner alive longer!"

"I don't have a choice. I have to find it; all I can do is hope that someone else has already found its brother."
