Chapter 12:

Glad That You're Here For Me

Grimm: Life or Death

With a heavy heart, I made my way back home, where my beloved grandmother awaited me. She had been my guiding light throughout my celestial existence, a wellspring of love, wisdom, and unwavering support. I knew that she would offer me the solace and counsel I so desperately needed.

As I entered our humble home, she greeted me with a warm smile. She could sense the turmoil within me, the weight of the day's trials. Without a word, she invited me to sit beside her, and I poured out my heart, recounting the challenges I had faced on that fateful first day.

Florence listened attentively, her eyes filled with empathy and understanding. When I had finished, she placed a gentle hand on mine, her touch reassuring and comforting. With a voice that held the wisdom of ages, she spoke, "My dear Achelois, life is a maze of both joy and hardship. Each experience, whether good or bad, serves a purpose in shaping who we are. It's important to have hard times, because it makes the good times seem even better"

She continued, "The challenges you faced today are but a glimpse into the complexities of the human world. People may be unkind or cruel at times, but remember that their actions are often a reflection of their own struggles and insecurities. It is in these moments of adversity that we discover our own strength and resilience."

Her words resonated deeply within me, offering a perspective that transcended the immediate pain of my experiences. Florence's wisdom reminded me that life's trials were not meant to break us but to build our character and understanding.

She smiled once more, her eyes filled with unwavering belief in my abilities. "My dear, carry on with your mission. Embrace both the challenges and the moments of joy that await you. For it is through adversity that we find our true purpose, and it is in the face of cruelty that kindness shines the brightest."

With her guidance, I found the strength to persevere, and to continue my journey into the heart of humanity. The first day of school had been a test of my resilience, but I knew that the path ahead held untold lessons and experiences. As I faced the trials of high school, I carried Florence's wisdom with me—a reminder that every moment, both good and bad, had its place in our everyday life.

Thanks to my grandmother's guiding words, I feel more confident for the future days to come. Today was only half of my classes, maybe the other half will be better. She also helped me carry on being an angel. Right as I was able to just give up on humanity she pulled me back in. Without her, I don't know if I would even want to remain an angel.
