I remember...

The feeling of being young and running through the streets...
Is something I could never forget...

The wind grazing my face.
The sound of my laughter echoing all around.

Life was easy and simple back then.
We still needed to move from place to place...
But this brought a new excitement in its own way...

A new neighborhood, new friends, new places to explore.
New wonders, new horizons.

I became accustomed to moving around a lot...

Safety was the main reason for it...
But the new discoveries were what mattered to me in the end...

And once again, we moved to a new place...

My excitement was overflowing...
So much that I didn't care that this place was completely unknown to me...

I remember looking all over the place...
Searching every nook and cranny...
High or low...
Jumping left and right in yards, behind cars, up in trees...

I remember being happy and feeling carefree...

Returning home at night...
I would eat and sleep...
Eagerly awaiting the next day to come so I could venture outside once again...

I remember...

One day straying farther from the neighborhood than usual...
A whole new world unfolding right in front of me...
I marched ahead without thinking...

I remember being lost and scared...
Unable to find my way back home...

I tried my best, but luck wasn’t on my side...

I thought of asking around for directions...
Someone who might know the area well and could help me...

I saw someone in the distance...
Looking towards me with glimmering eyes...
I thought help was on the way...

But that someone started running towards me at lightning speed...
Shouting something in a language I couldn't understand...

I panicked and started running away...
Not knowing where to go or hide in this unfamiliar place...

The distance between us grew suffocatingly short...
I knew I couldn't outrun my pursuer...

As a last resort, I hid behind a car...
But it wasn't enough...
The pursuer reached me in the end...

I remember...

A sharp pain in my body...
A sharp pain in my neck...
A constant shouting in my ears...

And then suddenly...

I felt warmth...
As all the sounds started fading away...
Gradually transitioning into night...

This is it I guess...
This is the end of my story...

Short, unfulfilling and full of regrets...

As my consciousness started slipping away...
….and darkness began spreading all around...

The world became empty...

The world became an endless night...
