Chapter 12:

Different Perspective (Part 2)

Reshape in Another World

After that, both of us sat down and Jun started talking about his adventures to getting here. He has visited multiple different cities with each of them taking on different inspirations from our world. According to him, Honeymaw is apparently his favorite as it takes inspiration from Paris. With every city he visits, there is a wide variety of citizens that have fairies living about.

Jun also explained to me how he’s able to procure these teas. Apparently, he has an acquaintance who allowed him to use his field to create tea leaves.

“I’m jealous of you…” I lay my head on the desk.

“Hm? Haven’t you explored this world yet?” Jun asks.

“No… I just recently came here and I’m living with some elves in the forest to survive for now…” I explained.

“How long have you been in this world?”

“…Now that I think about it, I actually don’t know…” I replied as I stared at the ceiling.

There is a giant clock in Artevir, but I don’t think I’ve seen a single calendar to know what day it is.

“You don’t have the Clairvoyance clock?”

“What’s that?” I redirect my gaze towards Jun.

“It’s this.”

Jun pulled out a pocket watch that was painted in gold. He then opens the clock, showing that it’s currently 12:13 p.m. in Roman numerals with a small text below the number twelve that says ‘Saturday’ on it.

“Put simply, having this clock should make it easier for you to know what time and day it is due to a spell that indicates the sun’s rotation,” Jun explained.

“I see… So how do I get one?” I ask.

“You can get one if you apply at some local stores around here, but you don’t have to worry about that...” Jun put his pocket watch away and started scrounging his desk.

“…?”

“Ah. Here we go…”

He brings out another pocket watch that is colored in brown. He opened the pocket watch, nodded to himself, and presented it to me.

“Here, this is my first ever Clairvoyance clock. It’s been a while since I last used it, but it’s still in good condition.”

“Is it okay for me to take this?” I ask as Jun places the pocket watch on the counter table.

“I have no use for it anyway, and it’s better if someone else uses it,” Jun replied.

“But… Aren’t I just a stranger to you?”

“Well, that is technically true,” Jun then sits down and looks at me at eye level and continues, “But this is the first time I’ve had a lot of fun talking to someone, and that’s enough reason for me to give you this.” Jun pushes the pocket watch towards me.

“…”

“Plus, it’s not that expensive to get. You can just get one at a nearby merchant store, so it’s really not that big of a deal…” Jun shrugs.

“Thank you so much…”

I take the pocket watch in my hand, feeling the coolness of the steel reverberate in my hands.

“Yuumaa~ Are you donee~?” A familiar voice came into the building.

“Is that your girlfriend?” Jun suddenly asks.

“Nope. She’s just a friend that’s letting me stay at her place…” I broke my gaze from Jun and looked towards my back, waving my hand towards Celicia that is carrying a bag over her shoulder.

“So, you’re telling me that you’ve been living together and you guys are only friends?” Jun furrows his brows.

“That’s right…” I shrug my shoulders, my voice trailed off in the end.

“Hey Yuuma, were you able to get what you want?” Celicia asks.

“Oh right…” I got off the chair and started browsing the place.

“Please don’t tell me you haven’t decided on anything…” Celicia put her hands on her hips.

“M-My bad… Ahahaha…” I awkwardly look at Celicia, scratching my head.

“Haah…” Celicia sat on the chair I was sitting on a second ago, looking at me in annoyance.

“…” I make eye contact with Jun, followed by him nodding.

“Sir, I would personally recommend this matcha tea and Hojicha tea,” Jun said as he walked towards a nearby shelf, grabbing two containers that gave off a smoky and earthy smell.

I grab the container from his hands, a comforting scent goes through my nostrils.

“This is really nice…”

Celicia looks at the container that I’m holding, her ears slightly raised up.

“…” We made eye contact, with Celicia immediately averting her gaze.

“…Want to try it?” I offered the two containers to Celicia.

Celicia wiggled her ears as she grabbed the two containers from my hands. She took them close to her nose and took a deep breath, her eyes dilated in response.

“This is what tea smells like…?” Celicia asks with a relaxed expression on her face.

“These two are my personal favorites. I’m sure you’ll grow to like them.” Jun said with a gentle smile.

“We’ll take two of these!” Celicia shouts out.

“Understandable. Would you like a bag with it?” Jun asks, looking at Celicia.

“No need.”

“Understandable. That’ll be two silver coins.”

“Hey Jun, isn’t that a bi—”

“Here.” Celicia placed two silver coins on top of the table.

“Celicia?!”

“I need this.” Celicia stares into me, her gaze completely determined.

“…”

I can’t believe Celicia, a person who roams around the market trying to find a good price to buy apples is recklessly spending two silver coins on some tea leaves…

I’m not entirely sure how the currency in this world works, but judging from all the reactions Celicia has given out this entire day, I can tell that silver coins are a lot.

“Thank you for your patronage!” Jun exclaims.

Celicia with a satisfied look on her face grabs the two containers and put one of them inside of her bag.

She held onto one of the containers, smelling the aroma delightfully.

“Hey, Jun…” I leaned in and whispered into his ears, “How much is a single silver coin?”

“It’s around ¥1000… By the way, why are we whispering?”

“…”

She really spent ¥2000 on a bunch of tea leaves… Celicia of all people…

“By the way Yuuma, how the heck were you able to get someone as cute as her? Man, I’m really jealous of you!” Jun said in a whisper.

“Well… That’s true…”

Seeing her looking so serious when choosing what fruits cost the best, but seeing her impulsively spend that much on some tea leaves is oddly really cute…

“Yuuma~! Let’s go home~!” Celicia yelled out at the front entrance.

“Okay!” I pick up my bags that were placed next to the chair.

“Hey Yuuma,” Jun called out, causing me to turn my neck, “Make sure you take care of her, okay?” He said with a smile.

“…That’s not what our relationship is about…” I look away from Jun, my voice trailing off.

“Suure~” Jun replied.

“I’ll be going now…” I fixed the bag on my shoulders, walking towards the exit.

“Take care!” Jun shouts out, and I respond by bringing my hand up.

As I left the shop, Celicia was still smelling the container. She then noticed my presence and put the container inside of her bag.

“Let’s go home,” Celicia said with a smile.

“Yeah…” I walk up towards her to be standing side-by-side.

“You promised to help me carry my bags, so can you help me carry this?” Celicia offered one of the bags that had a multitude of fruits in it.

“Sure.” I grabbed the bag, and the weight of the bag caught me off guard, pushing me to put all my strength into it.

Celicia starts to skip walking, her arms in complete swing.

“…”

What kinds of feelings do I have for her anyway?
