Thank You For This day

“Why do you want to meet me, senpai? If for what I did on the stage, I am sorry! I will kill myself now!”

“Wait! You don’t need to kill yourself. The reason I call you here is I want to ask is the kiss on stage before was in the script?”

“Why?”

“Just close your eyes already!”

Is this what I am waiting for? Then, I feel the soft sensation on my lips. I open a bit of my eyes and see Saito senpai kissing me. Did I find my heaven?

“This is my reply to your confession. You should know that I do not kiss anyone with my own will,” said Saito senpai.

“Is that mean we become a couple, Saito senpai?”

“Yes! But you should call me by my first name from now on. And I will call you Youta-kun.”

I don’t know that Akemi senpai and I have the same birthday date which is on twentieth of December. We tried to invite other club members but all of them said they can’t join as they want us have time together alone. Minami, on the other hand, said she must go back to Kyoto because she needs to take care of her sick grandma. She wished Akemi senpai and I happy birthday before she goes back to Kyoto. She also said to me that she will never give up making me fall in love with her and asked me to prepare for it. I just take that as joke although I think Minami is serious about that. To celebrate our birthday, Akemi senpai baked the cake and I was asked to clean the place. We decided to celebrate our birthday at Akemi senpai’s place. There are many people wishing me happy birthday including my family. They ask me to go back when Christmas comes. I will think about that later. Finally, the awaited cake is baked. The cake looks so beautiful and delicious. Akemi senpai said this is the first time she made chocolate cake. I am so happy to become the first taster for this cake. I put the candles on the cake and lit them. Before blowing the candle, we sing a happy birthday song.

"Happy birthday to us, happy birthday to us,

Happy birthday, dear Akemi senpai and me,

Happy birthday to us!"

Then, we blow the candle while making a wish. We cut the cake together and sent the picture of us to other club members.

“Youta-kun, happy birthday! I hope your wish will become true!”

“Akemi senpai, happy birthday to you too! I hope that what you wish can become reality!”

We eat cake, talking together and taking picture. I feel so happy to celebrate my birthday with the person I love. All of this started from when I found Akemi senpai lying in front of my house. From that point, we are involved in each other’s life. Without knowing, I started to fall in love with her. There are several times I have said that I like Akemi senpai unconsciously. She is not only senpai but my friend to me. There are times she stays by my side to support me. I really appreciate that. That’s why I made the decision to confess my feelings to her.

“Youta-kun. Can I said something?”

“Thank you for this birthday! I never feel this kind of birthday especially with the people who have same birthdate with me.”

“This is nothing senpai! This chocolate cake makes this birthday more exciting.”

“Thank you for that! I never imagine that we become a couple.”

“Right! I never thought that I would become a couple with Akemi senpai. By the way, did you keep my weird picture on your phone?”

“Here! I will never delete this picture as I know that you will not delete my drunk picture too!”

“Yes! Look at this picture! I will keep the picture until I become old.”

I try to tease Akemi senpai. She looks so annoyed with my attitude.

“Okay then. I will put your picture on my social media. I hope everyone can see your weird people including your family too,” she said with a smirk.

“Are you kidding? Give me that phone, Akemi senpai!”

“No way!”

Both of us continue to annoy each other. This birthday will always become the most memorable celebration ever for me. I will always remember this until I die.

“Right, I forgot to say. My grandma said she wants to meet with you. She has something to say to you.”

“Did I have I done something wrong?”

“I don’t know about that. But she asks you to come their house when you are free.”

“I will do that. Senpai, can I ask you something?”

“I think I know what you want but I will ask what it is?”

“Can I kiss you?”

“You have become so honest lately. Sure, you can kiss me.”

“Alright. First, please close your eyes.”

Slowly, I put my lips on her lips with her eyes closed tightly. Should I play a bit with her?

“Are you already done, Youta-kun? I feel tired waiting for you.”

“Wait senpai! I need to prepare for myself.”

“Arima, you are so brave! You really uploaded a weird picture on social media. Did you ask Akemi to do it for you?”

Upon reading the message, I checked Akemi senpai’s social media page and saw that she had upload my weird picture.
