Sent into the wild

"Where...?..."

Right now I am in what you can call a dense forest filled with tall trees.

The foliage is so thick that even though it seems to be daytime from the few rays of light that are coming, it is still considerably dark.

Though, I can still see my surroundings somewhat.

I remember that I was talking to the white light persona in my dream.

So is this the other world? And thankfully I still remember my past life and talk with the Goddess Sama.

My body is not my old body though. It seems to be that of a teenager.

"Hello..."

And from my voice, it seems that way too.

Too soft and pitch is sharp too. I am a human right?.

I checked myself. Ok, normal size ears and no beast man ears. My skin is wheatish white.

And 'that thing' is there too, so I am a male.

The surroundings seems dangerous so, lets analyses my situation after securing a safe place. Lets move.

I am moving sneakily without making much sound and I want to find a tree which has at least some branches on its lower part of stem to help me climb.

The plan is to get a high view point, so that I can get out of the forest or at least find a river.

In a survival show I used to see, the host used to tell that finding a river is the first step for survival.

Then I can move upstream or downstream along with it and maybe find a village or a town.

While moving I am feeling that this body has quite good moving speed and stamina.

My clothes are rough light blue shirt and brown leather pants.

I also seem to be wearing a leather sleeveless protective jacket on top of my clothes and leather black shoes.

Apart from that, there is no weapon or bag.

My pocket has only one coin in it and it is silver in color with a sigil of lion on one side and number one written on other side.

This coin seems to be a currency.

And since there is one written in Arabic numerals so at least the numbers of this world seem to be same as earth.

While moving I heard various sounds of birds, monkeys and howls of other animals.

It is very scary to be honest.

The ground is full of roots and it is difficult to walk while being vigilant of surroundings.

Couldn't the goddess have send me near a town? Moreover I thought I would be born as a baby.

Oh well I am enjoying this somewhat, so this is fine too.

Lets see if I have any skills that are helpful.

I thought about the template thing that is used in all the Isekai stories, in my mind while moving but nothing happened. Ok no problem! Next try!

What else can I do. Hmm... lets see if seeing status of other things is possible.

I concentrated on a bug moving on a tree in front of me.

It really did appear in my mind, the information was summarized to me as standard game like data.

Lets see my status first and see what other skills I have other than scan.

I thought of the skill in my mind and my information entered my mind.

That means my skill can work without saying it out loud.

What! That's it! And my name is not Ray.

Although it does translate to 'first ray of sunlight' sunlight in English, so 'Ray' is quite similar.

Probably my older name was not lore friendly so the Goddess made it Ray which was nearest to it in meaning.

It is surprising that my name has come out to be such though. And what is an ancient human anyway.

Am I a primitive human here?.

The information is appearing in my brain directly and in English too.

There doesn't seem to be any other data available here.

The skill has worked but I am not getting any information about my other skills or stats at all.

Did the goddess give me only mediocre skills or is my skill level low.

I don't know. I will analyses this later, but first considering my situation lets try if I have some skill to hide or sneak

"Hide!" Sneak!" "Conceal!"

While running I spoke the skills' name that can be related to sneaking, and something changed when I spoke 'conceal'.

It felt like I am merging in environment a little and the bugs and monkeys that were reacting to me by making noises or running away have become a little quiet.

Yeah those monkeys were a pain in the back.

They were making loud noises on trees.

I was not afraid of them because they were not coming near, but they did attract a lot of attention.

I cannot see them properly because they are very high in trees and hidden in leaves.

I don't even know if I am consuming my magic energy or not while using these skills. But if I am, what will happen when it becomes zero?.

There is very little information here to work with. I don't think the goddess duped me but still she could have told me a little more.

I think this is like playing a game in hard setting. Beginning in jungle with low level skills and no information to work with.

No problem! Lets see if there is anything to eat around here and gather it while moving.

I found some berries on the nearby shrubs and decided to scan them.

Yeah, the tree that I scanned earlier too, also only showed just the name.

I think its because my skill is level 1 only. Maybe.

Lets collect whatever seems edible and maybe if my skill improves, I can try it out later.

This time I didn't spoke and just tried to activate a skill by thinking a name and it worked on saying 'item box' in my mind.

A small black whirlpool as small as my head opened up near my right hand.

Wow! Now this is otherworld.

Seeing magic for first time I was very surprised and stopped in my tracks.

I tried to throw the red berries I collected in the whirlpool and it went in.

And now in my mind I could tell the content of the black void.

After that I imagined taking out the berry and put my hand in the void a little hesitantly.

But I was able to retrieve the content successfully without harming my hand.

Yeah even if you know the templates its still scary to put your hand in black whirlpool of nothingness.

This is good. Now, if the Goddess Sama really gave me 10 skills, then I already know 3 of them.

Scan, conceal and item box. While I was busy doing that, I was still able to walk easily in forest while being careful of ground as well as surroundings. I got used to it too quickly.

So, my fourth skill might be something like a passive parallel thinking skill or maybe this new body is very versatile. I can only guess.

I have been walking for about half an hour now and have yet to see any small tree for climbing purpose.

No sign of any ferocious animal or monster thankfully, but no water source too.

I am following the direction opposite to which the rays of the sun are coming from.

So its west I think. If the directions are same as that of earth and this planet also rotates like that.

Also, due to thick foliage it is not very visible, but I have confirmed that there is only one sun, just like earth.
