Private Tutor Zephy san and Ancient magic technique

I am currently talking to Zephy san to understand about the orphanage and know about my work here.

Although she was behaving like a child yesterday, but when it comes to work, she transforms into a serious person.

Her cute child face with serious expression is a little funny though.

But that’s not the only incredible thing about her. I am completely overwhelmed by her stats.

The stats are even more than 7 times her level for some parameters.

This confirms my theory that it varies for different races. But seriously with her strength she can easily kill me with one punch.

Is she the little girl version of the famous anime I used to watch that killed everyone with one punch. That would be quite funny.

But when I scanned myself again to compare my stats with her, something weird caught my eyes that I had forgotten. I had eleven stats. The ‘Aura’ stat with value of 50 was an extra stat in my scan.

What the hell!. Am I the weird one. It may be due to my species but I have a different conjecture.

Its low value tells me that I have newly acquired it. So, it was probably not there when I came to this world. Also, I can even acquire new stats for new things it seems.

But how did this happen. Aura seems like a divine thing.

Maybe it’s due to the transcending experience I had at Syndell.

But what does it even do. I hope my scan can one day level up enough to give explanations of each stat.

While my mind was completely surprised by the aura stat, I was still able to listen to Zephy san’s explanation of work.

I surprisingly have quite a multitasking mind. The explanation was simple.

I basically had to help in maintaining the small farm in the premises where vegetables were grown.

Help in cleaning and some other chores too.

Apart from that, I also had responsibility to take care of smaller children here that are those below 7 years, and see that they do not hurt themselves when the sisters were not looking.

She also told me about rules of orphanage and other stuff.

There was also something called adoption system here, in which a family could adopt a child from this orphanage.

But she said that it rarely happened and only when an orphan had a unique talent.

And then they are taken in by a rich noble or something.

Was that how Philia san had noble surname or was she a noble before becoming orphan.

I want to ask but I cannot just ask personal information from her can I.

After explanation was over, Zephy san said that tomorrow she was going out of city for some important work and would not return for ten days.

She said that the 40 year old sister named Dorthy san would be incharge who seemed like a strict old woman.

Since Zephy san was going out tomorrow, she would give me some personal lecture on language and magic so that I could atleast practice while she was gone.

So I decided to postpone my first adventurer’s quest for tomorrow.

Then I was taken to a study room. For some reason Lily also joined me in the lecture.

I sat on a table with Lily and Zephy san sat in front of us.

Since she was so small it looked like I was her teacher but the truth was vice versa.

I showed Zephy san the alphabets and numeral chart I got from Tina.

She then asked me to draw those alphabets on my own.

Lily too already knew about them. She could even write her own name and some other simple words.

After writing practice, Zephy san gave us a book of vocabulary which had many words along with their drawings.

Like one of those charts about vegetables and animas for children, with the names written along with their pictures.

Surprisingly the book was about 50 pages and had many things.

She told me to learn all of it in 10 days. Lily already knew most of them.

I am seriously losing my dignity here.

After that Zephy san decided to give me a magic lecture.

Lily was feeling sleepy so she went to her room.

Well my lecture is going to be in telepathy so it was convenient for Zephy san too since she would not have to say the same thing in mind and with her mouth.

Zephy san took out a thick book from the cupboard and started teaching.

Basically magic was all about manipulating mana which is like dark matter of our earth science and present everywhere.

Once we are able to manipulate it we can then change its form to various elements.

So, ether or mana was like a fundamental element that could be changed into other elements easily like water or fire.

Mana present in the environment is called mana itslef and the one inside our body is called ether.

Although there is only a minor difference in two, it is just used to simplify explanations.

Zephy san told that generally she usually starts with history of magic and magic theories that failed.

But since she wanted me to practice in these 10 days she would be gone, she would directly teach the practical part first and theories and history could be done after that.

Although, she still gave me a brief about one of the methods of doing magic. She called it the ancient method. According to which-

Mana can be changed in many forms like water, fire, stone, wood, electricity, light, air, ice, poison or even mind waves.

It can be changed into anything be it metal or gas. But most of people can only convert it into basic form like water, fire, stone, air and light and only one at that.

Rarely someone has the aptitude for other rare conversions.

Moreover only 1 out of 10 people even have an aptitude for conversion and that too for a single attribute only.

Having a rare aptitude is like 1 out of 100. And having an aptitude for two types of elemental conversion is even more difficult.

Although it is possible to do magic of all aptitude with practice, but it only goes as far as mediocre level that too after training for 20 to 30 years for the ones you don’t have aptitude for.

After converting the mana into element or attribute, you have to change its shape and size as per the requirement.

Since its quite difficult to make a shape freely without practicing, magicians generally train in standard shapes that are versatile.

These shapes are given names to make it easy to remember them. These are ball, arrow, javelin, wall, spikes and many more.

So to cast a simple spell like fire ball using ancient technique of magic, first step is to manipulate the mana present inside our body that is called ether.

One must learn to manipulate ether and easily move to anywhere. The ether is concentrated just above our navel near the solar plexus chakra.

One must make it volatile and try to make it move. There are various ether holes on surface of our body through which ether can interact with mana in air.

First we have to try to move the ether from the navel to these points so that we can make it interact with the mana outside.

Ideally we must train till ether is able to spread anywhere in the body if we want to perform all kinds of mana techniques and magic forms.

But being able to move it from navel to just the tip of finger is also enough to atleast enable it to interact with the mana outside and cast a basic spell like fireball.

The mana inside our body (ether) has attribute and a will while the one outside is pure mana without any attribute or will.

So using ether that has our will we can manipulate mana outside and convert it to the same attribute as our ether.

After that we just have to convert mana into our attribute, change its shape and size and launch it by adding will to it using our ether.

So the value of MP in stats tells us the amount of ether our body can hold and that capacity increases as we level up.

Hence, the internal mana or ether or MP, does not gets used itself during a spell and is just a tool for interaction and controlling the mana in air.

The mana present in air is the main attacking component. Hence a mage who learns ancient technique can fire magic of his attribute continuously without expending much of his ether or MP.

All of this requires a lot of concentration and practice.

And to perform magic of other attribute one has to learn reverse conversion of our own attributed ether into attribute less pure mana and then converting into another attribute and then make it interact with mana outside.

But as she told before that requires 20 years atleast and then only one can perform magic of other attribute by this technique.

There are also other ways of using reverse conversion of attribute ether. We can manipulate the converted ether inside our body to strengthen our muscles by converting them into muscle mass.

This technique too requires atleast 20 years of practice. But sometimes people have this particular attribute from start so it becomes easy for them..

Other manipulations in body can also be done but, we cannot be sure of everything inside our body unless we have very advance medical knowledge.

Even with that it is impossible to see what is needed inside our body to increase our strength or speed.

So it is purely instinct based technique. But once the person acquires the skill for it, it becomes easy to level it up.
