Chapter 1:

TIMER

The Bonsai Project

The sound of the flustering alarm, ringing horrendously, fiercly ravaging my ears. Oh what a sound, the sound of a synthetic machine rather than birds chriping euphoniously to a harmony.

"Great..."  I sighed heavily

My limbs reactivated after a vague and oblivious night, I felt weirder... It felt like something has happened that I wasn't aware of. I slowly rose up from my slumber and limped across the room, reaching the door.

My hands tremble at the sight of this dark room, awaiting for the sun rays to pierce through me. My hands struggling and trembling trying to reach the door knob, finally I held the rustic, old door knob and opened the door. A ray of light startled me, luminescently blinding my pupils, they slowly dilated and all went black. The pitch dark triumphed over my vision, completely knocking me out.

All was quiet, tranquility was abundant. Until a bell rang.

"Ding! ..."

I suddenly woke up from my slumber again, at the same spot, during the same time of day, with the issues.

"What the fuck? What kind of dystopian hellscape is this shit." I angrily reprimanded the idea of these mind games.

Sooner or later, I noticed two doors instead of one. I must be tripping I thought to myself, my contemplations were too hindered from the confusion I didn't know what was going on.

"Hah.. This must be some kind of trick!" I laughed to myself psychotically

I must be losing my mind, I felt hysterical my psychological state has been dominated by these mind games. It was then I stomped towards the first door and again, trembling I opened it. The same burst of light blinded my lens, and pupils soon withering away into a black atmosphere.

The same bell rang

"Ding! ..."

I woke up again, this time in fear. Am I stuck in a time frame? What is going on? How do I get out of here. What is the reason for leaving me in such a place?

Tears slowly fell from my eyes, like the calm waterfalls I used to imagine. My eyes were blurred suddenly, my tears overfilling the capacity of my eye lids. I was drenched in my own sorrow, This sorrow slowly and gradually metamorphosised into rage and lunacy. I started to laugh, while projectiling objects around the room. My feet aching from the poorly constructed wooden boards, I ran and ran consecutively until I bumped into a door.

"Door No. 3" It said

"I WONDER WHAT IS IN HERE?" My smile slowly crooking, revealing the unsanitized teeth that I left unclean for days.

I opened the door, again a burst of light flew right threw me but instead of passing out. A hand reached out to me, I held it in fear of telemorphing right back to where I started. My mind was empty, I held the hand and it brought me to a city. A city full of light. Full of food and people. I looked behind me and, nothing. The door? The hand? They were all gone.

I slowly walked towards the city using the pathways directed for me. I finally felt joy.

"TEST SUBJECT 23,102" The robotic sound exclaimed loudly

"I believe we sent him to a place where he truly deserves" said one of the developers of this project.

The Bonsai Project, a synthetic project constructed of technological apparatuses that serves only one purpose. The Bonsai Project takes in Suicidal People, around the age of 13 - 33, The Bonsai Project mimics a foster home or an orphanage, but adapts more into freedom then under a persons care, Just like a Bonsai those doors were branches that lead to different circumstances, outcomes and consequences. Only the correct door would lead people to such a utopian place, if they are not able to identify the correct door. They are trapped in that cycle of a time frame until they die.

If they were to choose the correct door, they will reach a place of utopian, a place that was designed just for their kind.

The Bonsai Project was established in 1995, and was funded by an anonymous company. As they would like to keep their Project a secret from the rest of society.
