The ancient ruins

The site in front of me would have been breathtaking if not for the nasty goblins roaming around everywhere.

The ruins are covered in moss and ivy but the site itself is very grand.

Lots of pillars are lying on ground but the main building seems to be standing.

It looks like a Greek temple and the size is huge. It is about as high as a 15 story building and the whole premise is as big as a shopping mall.

The trees in the surroundings are very tall and lush so they do a good job in hiding this place.

I am hiding in bushes about 50 meters away from the ruins. Maybe this world had ancient civilization and these are the ruins of that.

No matter what world, exploring ancient ruins is the most thrilling and exciting thing to do.

You never know what treasure you may find. Therefore its very important to kill these goblins to explore it to my heart’s content

I hope it has not become a dungeon.

The monsters born from dungeon mana have a mana stone in them. They leave only the stone after dying.

The normal monsters born from reproduction leave bodies which can be used as materials but no mana stones. Although high ranking monsters living in area with high mana leave mana stones as well as bodies.

I scanned the goblins and area quietly. The goblins here have average level between 10 and 15. There is only one strong goblin of level 15 standing near the entry of the main building.

He has a spear in his hand but he is naked and does not have armor.

The rest of the gang is also mostly naked and are either unarmed or have small knives or chipped swords.

There are also some archers on the high points of the building. The whole thing is like a fort.

It might take a few days to clear out the area, so lets work little by little everyday.

But what if the speed of my killing is less than the speed at which they reproduce or born out of mana (whatever the case is).

Whatever the case be, for now all I can do is clear the outer parameter in hope to go inside.

I adopted my tried and tested method of eliminating lone goblins who are away from the site of others. There are about 30 goblins in my sight roaming around the whole complex.

Slowly killing the alone ones, I killed 8 goblins and even hid their bodies in bushes.

But I think the smell of blood would give it away.

So I don’t think I have much time. I don’t want them to start calling out more goblins from inside.

The next target were the archers standing in the high places of the ruins. Eliminating them would give me more freedom to move around.

But killing them quietly was difficult.

I don’t think I can aim at their throats from far away since I am just an amateur archer.

Distracting them with rocks was also not possible since there were no bushes near them.

Troubled, I decided go around the ruins to see if there was another way inside or to go near the archers.

As I went around, I realized how big this place really was.

Has this place not been discovered by the adventurers yet. Or is it that I have come quite deep inside the forest where anyone rarely comes. I don’t know.

But considering there are so many goblins just outside, clearing this place requires atleast 10 C rank adventurers.

Or an adventurer with similar skill to mine.

I think there must be a similar sneak skill or something like that, although it might not be as potent as mine.

This skill is also not Omni powerful, as my smell still lingers on the things I touch. All it does is conceal my presence and of the things I am touching, in all possible ways, be it sight or smell and maybe my mana too.

But I think there still might be skills that can counter this concealment. So it would be better to level up this skill by using it more so that it would become more powerful.

Going around the ruins I found that there were even more goblins all around. In total the complex has around 60 goblins roaming around on just the outside.

But sadly I was unable to see any other entrance to the building itself.

But I did found some broken pillars that were forming a perfect path to the outer walls of the ruins.

I think climbing those, I can reach near the archer goblins standing there.

But first I needed to clear some goblins on ground while remaining out of sight of the archers.

I slowly killed 10 more goblins here at the backside of the ruins while hiding in the moss, ivy and ruined pillars, lying all around.

Next I cautiously climbed the broken pillars and stones lying on ground.

From there while jumping around and climbing, I slowly made my way on the outer roof of the building.

There were a lot more goblins here than I initially saw from below.

There were 10 archers on this back side of the roof, but because of the trees growing all around around and ivy hanging here and there, it would be easy to hide and approached them.

I took out my knife and hiding sneakily around the nearest one, slit his throat.

It fell without making any noise. I collected his bow and arrows. I did the next two in same manner.

Then the next one was standing near a tree branch. So I climbed the other branch and moved toward the branch near which he was standing. Doing a quick jump behind him, I killed him in similar manner.

It seems like if I jump quietly, it still goes unnoticed. I finished the rest of the goblins too.

Now the only 12 more goblins remained on the roof. But it was already getting dark.

However I think if the goblins come to know that they were attacked on the roof, they will increase the security in back tomorrow.

So I decided to collect the dead bodies on the roof.

Then after getting down I moved away and disposed off the dead bodies in bushes far away, after collecting their ears.

I then returned to the town. I went to the material submission center to deposit my kills and get quest completion tags.

Today I collected 15 rabbits out of which I kept 5 for the orphanage. I also collected 30 cucuma herbs and killed 56 goblins.

Since the time was 5 in the evening, there were quite a few adventurers there to submit their materials and the staff was quite busy.

Consequently, they did not get suspicious of my high amount of materials, nor did they asked anything.

I got 2 silver for rabbits, 6 silver for cucuma herbs and completion tags for herb quest and goblin and rabbit quest with my ID , quest ID and number of materials submitted written on them.

Then I went inside the guild and submitted the tags to Tina san. She then gave me 16 silver and 80 copper coins for goblin subjugation and added 4 guild points for quest completion.

So no matter how many goblins and rabbits I kill, or herb I collect in one day, I could only get total of 4 points for these in one day.

Maybe this was done to reduce the people who might buy materials in bulk and give the guild to earn huge guild points in short amount of time.

The system here is quite well thought of.

I also decided to ask Tina san something that was on my mind.

(Onee chan, are there any ruins around here that I could visit?)

(…Yes there are many of those outside the city as well in the forests….

But most of them are just ruins with nothing to see and find….

And the ones in the Ghalia forest are dangerous to go….

But if you still want to see, you can take a stagecoach there near the east gate…)

(Ohh…And who do the ruins belong to?)

(Do these ruins become dungeons too?)

(..Dungeons? No I don’t think so, unless they are in highly mana filled place. But most of them are in open deserts with nothing around. )

(Is that so? Is there any other dungeon around here?)

(The nearest dungeon is the underground dungeon of Dra Mohra , near the Doza village. It is at the boundary of the Ghalia forest.)

(Oh really. Can I enter it?)

Although sleepy, she replied to each of my query in great detail.

She also did not ask, how I managed to kill so many goblins in one day. As expected of a sleepy person.

But since I was talking with telepathy, the person behind me got irritated and started shouting at me, I then left after apologizing and briefly explaining to him.

Total reward today was 24 silver, 80 copper. Even though I killed so many today, the reward is still less than a single rock bear.

Its quite funny to be honest. But I am happy with todays earning too.

Also my level increased to 5. My stats increasing average of 10 per level except for luck and intelligence.

But in the process the stats of my sword has also decreased a little. It has lost its strength.

Although I killed so many goblins, I don’t feel any remorse.

That is because I myself saw them kidnapping Lily and also Tina san had also told me that the monsters that have high reproducing ability needed to be killed in large numbers to prevent stampede.

So its good to kill them.

I even got to know something about the history of this world.

Supposedly there existed this ancient civilization of Kahras people. I will study about them, once I become good at reading.I do consciously put efforts in that everyday.

I always try to read the signs on the shop while walking. Not only that but I am also training my mana manipulation at the same time.

Now I am able to move the mana from above my navel to near my hands with a little concentration.

Hopefully I would be able to master my language skills and mana manipulation skills soon.

I want to do magic soon. I did see Sherry san (younger Greenwich sister) doing magic training before at the guard house.

They fired some fire arrow type spells and it was awesome. I don’t know how long would it take for me to learn something like that.

Since Sherry san uses magic wand, she is definitely following the modern method of magic.

But Philia san did not use wand while doing telepathy spell so she follows the old school, since she was also taught by Zephy san.

After reaching the orphanage, I took bath and rest. After doing my given duties, I was preparing to sleep.

But Lily got up from her bed and came to me. She seemed a little sad today. I don’t know what happened and decided to talk.
