Chapter 6:

Questioning, an ominous feeling.

Not The Cinderella's Story

Very tedious.. . .How interesting.. . .Definitely–important. . ."Hey could you stop staring at me and say something?" I finally say, breaking the tension. I made sure to not sound—stuck up? I have to break it to you, I was staring at her too. I didn't expect to see the real Rapunzel, especially to see her not having blond hair, but instead a coral pink. I really thought she had blonde hair! I'm not exaggerating, when I saw her out the balcony she had blonde hair! Trust me! She–also looks quite young, but not younger than how I look. Do all the fairytale stories take place in the near future? She has beautiful bronze skin, with deep blue eyes that sparkle at even the slightest of light. She's definitely pretty. Her outfit, a white puffy sleeve open vest, under a mid length lilac nightgown with a flower patterned lace at the end of the gown and wrapping around the bodice. She wore green slippers, and her hair was up into two thick side ponytails. Well– there not really ponytails, their more like bubble braids. Big bubble braids. Two on each side of her two "ponytails" and at the end of them were just normal braids, decorating the braids were dangling beads in-between the two big bubble braids. Then on the start of the bubble braids laid a white feathered scrunchie. "So…why are you here." She FINALLY spoke. But that did not seem as if it were a question, more like a demand, or perhaps a statement? "Well, I've heard my basket is here," I say, looking behind her while twirling the tips of my hair. I thought I saw a different room when I first got here but now it's gone. Huh, I shrug it off remembering that magic exists. Then I turn my eyes back to face her. My eyes widened. My teeth clenched. I blurted out "Why is your hair color changing?" Her eyes face mine and simply say in her melodramatic tone of voice "The sun does that." Nothing else. Only "the sun does that". I didn't understand, my eyebrows furrowed and I looked at her weirdly. I did that intentionally. She doesn't seem like she would be affected by my actions. Oh well! I put my hands into the air, close my eyes and shrug even more exaggeratedly. When I open my eyes. She's smiling at me. She seems to be thinking I'm funny. I giggle at her. Smiling is contagious, what can I say! After around a minute of laughing to ourselves, Rapunzel cleared her throat then looked back at me and said, "Well, I'm willing to give you your basket if you have information on my granny." She clasped her hands and gave me a stern look. I gulped. "Your granny? You're going to have to elaborate," I smile nervously. I mean- you can't blame me for being nervous, this world has magic!"Well…a few days ago she had left like she always does–" she looks at me up and down then continues, "She is a very busy woman, usually she always comes back by midnight but now she's been missing for 3 days. That's the gist.." I can grasp what she's thinking now. I close my eyes thinking deeply, while I put my finger on my chin. "And you think I can help you because–?" She takes a bite of her Madeline's. Then she uses her magic to bring her a glass of lemonade. After she does all of these things she continues to answer me. "Your book, it's very special. The lock is very complex and filled with rare magic. I assume you're a noble?" Uh oh. She's smart huh. Real smart. A small smirk comes across my face as I place my hands under my chin with my elbows on the table. "I might be- what's it to ya," I only realized then I should start speaking like a child if I'm younger. I should've spoken like that sooner now I'm embarrassed, for switching so soon. Well- whatever I can do what I want to do hehe. She looks at me after sipping her lemonade again, she looks more comfortable with me and that makes me glad. Hopefully, I'll get many friends in this 'world' so if I'm going to make more friends I'll start with my two children. One older child sitting across from me, and one younger child sitting next to me. "I'm wondering if you're able to go out to one of the nobles or perhaps speak to the emperor." Woah! An emperor?! Well considering there's so many princes in the fairytales- if they're not all the same then I guess it makes sense. That's so cool! I wonder if the emperor has a fairy tale too! My eyes gleam. Just as I was about to open my mouth to speak again, a loud knock is heard from the entrance. Rapunzel looks at me, her face now serious again. She gets up and opens the doors of the towers, entrance balcony. While I stay sitting I look over to the child I picked up. He's worried but he's just snacking on some Madeline's. When I turn back to where Rapunzel headed she's now back with a note card in her hand. "What's that?" "An invitation to marquis Tim" Tim? Tiny Tim? I look at her and smile, "Shall we go?" Rapunzel must be important to nobels if she's known by a marquis. Rapunzel looks at me deviously and says, "Yes, we shall." I have a bad feeling about this–
