One letter

"That's it!? Give me a real story!" the editor growled.

"What? Didn't the title tell you there'd only be "One letter" in the story?"  Shiruka stated.

"We're a publishing company, not an internet forum. We're not goimg to waste money and resources just to call two words a novel."

"But why?"

"Really? If you want to go with this idea so bad, just post it on your blog."

"No, then it won't be special. It needs to be in a book. I'll even take an ebook."

The editor facepalmed.

"NO!"

"I refuse to write if you don't publish it."

"You're not some bigshot you know, I can just fire you."

"Wait, but I wrote that story about the pirate-"

"No, you did not!"

"So you're implying I'm delusional?"

The editor got up and walked towards Shiruka.

"What would you even do if we published this?"

"Retire off the fortune I'd receive."

"Ok, you're fired."

"APRIL FOOLS!"

The editor was taken aback.

"What the hell!? It's not even April you fool!"

"Oh shit!" Shiruka cried.

He frantically paced around the room until he came up with a solution.

"It was a prank, um my real novel is.. THIS! A small-time writer decides to write a story, however he only writes two words and calls it a story. Then his editor gets mad and fires him, but he ends up writing a story about the events that transpired."

                                                                                  ...

Shiruka's editor looked over at the manuscript.

"So you're trying to do some meta philosophical short story yes?" he asked.

"That's the intention."

"Fine, I'll give you an ebook. Though it's a FREE ebook."

And so, Shiruka's short story was published. People clicked on it, he then went back to writing normal stories, and the editor was happy.
