Preparations

I got up quite early today too. In fact I was not able to sleep properly as I was worried and stressed.

I did my morning exercise, meditation, sword practice, mana manipulation practice and finished with a jog and then a bath.

It took me about 3 hours and its 7 am right now. So it was time to prepare food for the church.

Since I needed a lot of food for my journey, I needed to prepare a lot including others breakfast too.

I have already talked to Dorthy san about using ingredients at the orphanage and I gave 2 gold coins for it to her.

That was more than enough to cover the cost for 20 days’ worth of food for the whole orphanage.

I prepared a lot of Naans and stored them in my item box. I have tested my item box and it seems the speed of time in there is about 20 times slower than outside.

So the food would easily not spoil for atleast 20 days. I also stored spicy potatoes to eat along with the Naan.

This along with some fruits would be enough for me to last for 15 days.

After food preparation was done, I went to a horse shop in order to buy a horse.

Although I don’t know how to ride one, I am planning to learn at least basics in a few hours and rest would be left to luck I guess.

The shop was in business district. It was made like a stable and covered a huge area.

There were many types of beasts available. They even had exotic types like land dragons and gryphons.

I asked the merchant to show me something intelligent that even an amateur could ride and would not cause much trouble.

Since the exotic monsters were most difficult to control and ride, I had already given up on them.

The shopkeeper took me towards a two horned horse like animal. He said that the monster’s name was demon horse and they were very intelligent and easy to control.

According to him, they have high loyalty to their owner who feed them and can even give their life to protect them if the trust is high.

I scanned them and chose the most intelligent and sturdy one of those.

It had pretty high intelligence and stamina for its level. There were black ones, white ones but this was the only gray breed of the demon horse available.

The merchant also said that it was the best one of the ones available. He told me that it cost about 7 gold coins.

I bargained a little and he dropped the cost to 6 gold along with a harness and a free two hour lesson on how to handle the demon horse.

Now I was down to 9 gold coins and some mana stones only. I also have to buy light attack magic tool or wand.

I took the lesson with the demon horse. He was quite cool to ride on and within 2 hours I was able to ride him and even make him sprint a little.

I decided to name him Ashwood since its color was gray as that of ash and he had a habit of scratching his hooves on a wooden log as if sharpening them.

I rode Ashwood to Nyxia san’s shop. I wanted to collect my weapons and sell the extra ones in order to get money for buying a light magic attack wand.

I went to inside and today Nyxia san was sitting there quietly in daze with a worried expression.

It seems she too knows about the news of kidnapping. I think she and Mary san of the Greenwich sisters were quite close and maybe she is worried about her.

I greeted her and she greeted me too and tried to put a fake smile unlike her usual self.

I won’t tell her that I am planning to rescue the girls because I don’t want any leak of information on my plan and also there was a chance that she would try to stop me saying it was dangerous.

So after a brief greeting I went straight to Yunaris san. Sorry for not taking your worries away Nyxia san but I promise I would save your friends very soon.

I went to Yunaris san who too was not his usual self. I asked him about my weapons and got them.

I then went to Nyxia san to pay her for repairs. Today she did not even tease me even though she did wear the bikini armor.

I asked her if she could buy some of my weapons, to which she agreed to. I sold all my stuff and only kept the best of them.

I kept two steel swords, one large iron shield, one small shield, one set of armor in addition to one I was wearing, one spear, two bows, one quiver, 2 daggers, 3 bagpacks, 10 knives for throwing, one hammer and all utility tools like compass, camping tools, trap removal and lock picking tools.

Rest all was sold and in total I got 17 gold coins from all that minus the repair cost.

I thanked her and asked if there was a shop that bought magic stones.

She told me that adventurers generally sold them at the guild but I could also sell them to magic item shop if I had some connections.

I think she gave me too much money for all those rusty and damaged weapons. She was not herself at all today otherwise the maximum I would have got would be 12 gold.

But I will take it with gratitude since I need it to save our friends.

I said my goodbyes to the cat and rat couple and moved towards the Hermit’s Heritage company shop.

I went to the magic item shop since I wanted to see if there was a powerful light magic tool that could ward off vampires. Also I wanted to sell my magic stones.

I was welcomed by the same handsome clerk. I asked him if there was a strong light magic tool to ward off monsters like wraith.

Actually I had asked Charlotte san about this and it seems wraiths were similar to vampires in terms of their weakness and since they were monsters, I could ask for such magic tools without them getting suspicious.

The clerk gave me a sharp look but then preceded to tell me that there was one here but it cost around 10 gold coins.

The spell used by it was ‘warding light’ and it could be set up in an area so that people could take rest without fear of being attacked by wraiths.

I will decide to buy it or not after seeing the light attack magic wands.

I also asked the clerk if they would buy magic stones from me. The clerk was a little puzzled and asked why I did not sell them at the adventurer’s guild.

I suppose he found it suspicious that I would come here to sell them and thought that I might have acquired them in an illegal manner.

So I told him that the only reason was that I required money urgently and someone had told me that magic item shop buy stones at a higher price than the guild if they agree to buy them.

The clerk was still suspicious, so he told me to wait and went to ask the manager about it.

Seems like every store under H&H company has a manager. He returned with a dandy looking old man with thin long mustache and white hair. I scanned him.
