Tales from the Forbidden Kingdom

Saru found himself alone in the classroom, noticing that Yuki had decided to stay home that day. "Of course, she would be the only one absent today," he muttered to himself. The boy who had been observing Saru the day before approached his desk, appearing nervous. "Um, Saru, sorry to bother you, but I have a question," the boy said tentatively. Saru glanced up, realizing that the boy was addressing him. "What do you want?" he replied, slightly annoyed. The boy scratched his arm before continuing, "Well, you see, Saru, my dad has imprisoned my sister and mother in a dungeon, and he subjects them to terrible things." Saru struggled to contain his anger. "What a despicable person. Listen, I'll do my best to overthrow your father and dismantle the kingdom. I'll ensure the safety of your mother and sister. However, I'll need something in return." The boy looked at Saru with curiosity. "What is it?" Saru smirked. "I want an updated map of your kingdom, as well as information about the king's whereabouts and the positions of the guards." The boy looked down momentarily, then looked back up with a smile on his face. "Okay, I will get that to you the day after." The school bell rang, signaling the end of the day. "Finally free from this hellhole," Saru thought as he stood up from his desk and walked over to the door, opening it. "God damn it, I hate these impoverished schools. It's not fair that the Kingdom of Death or the Kingdom of Light have some of the nicest schools, while we're trapped in poverty and have to suffer," Saru vented his frustration. Opening the door to the front of the school, he found Yuki waiting for him. "Y-Yuki, why didn't you show up today?" he asked, a tinge of concern in his voice. Yuki blushed before leaning in. "So you can show emotions, that's news to me." Saru covered his face with his arm. "Oh, shut it." Yuki handed him a paper. Saru took it and opened it. "What's this, Yuki?" She smiled and hopped over next to him. "Oh, my uncle told me to give you this training manual." Saru laughed. "So the mad wolf wants to train me. I must really be making a name for myself." Yuki placed her hand on her chin. "The mad wolf?" Saru smiled with excitement. "Yuki, do you not know your own uncle!?" Yuki stopped and thought to herself. "Well, when you say it like that, I don't." Saru smirked. "Well, let's just say your uncle was a skillful sword user who always worked together with my father. I still remember this move my dad and your uncle created. Blade & Barrel." Yuki laughed. "Wow, they weren't great at making names." Saru chuckled. "Oh, yes, it's something that has rubbed off on both of us though." Yuki still looked at Saru. "Still doesn't explain why he was labeled the mad wolf?" Saru placed his hand on her shoulder. "Well, your uncle got that nickname because he once took on 5,000 men and a king and survived to tell the story. It just sucks that he is wanted by every kingdom." Yuki's eyes widened. "Huh, guess even I don't know my family history." Saru looked back over at the training manual. "Let's see, does he want me to just study this page, or is there something hidden like a location orcoordinates?" Yuki smiled. "I can go ask him and see if he set something up." Saru smiled back. "Yeah, do that for me. I'll go into the schoolyard after it gets dark and start practicing." With their plans set, Saru and Yuki parted ways. Saru made his way to the empty schoolyard as the sun began to set. The dim light cast long shadows across the deserted space. Saru unsheathed his sword, feeling its weight in his hand. With each swing and strike, he focused on honing his skills, determined to become stronger. Meanwhile, Yuki arrived at her uncle's house, a small cottage hidden in the outskirts of the village. She knocked on the door, and a rugged-looking man opened it. His silver hair and piercing eyes gave off an aura of wisdom and strength. "Uncle, Saru wanted me to ask if there's something hidden in the training manual you gave him," Yuki said eagerly. Her uncle chuckled and motioned for her to come inside. "Ah, so he's curious, just like his father," he remarked. Yuki followed him into the cozy living room, where they sat down at a wooden table. Her uncle reached into a drawer and took out a folded piece of paper. "Tell Saru to unfold the third page of the manual. There's a message hidden within the illustrations," he explained. Excitement filled Yuki's eyes as she imagined Saru uncovering the hidden message. She thanked her uncle and rushed back to the schoolyard, eager to deliver the news. When she arrived, Saru was engrossed in his training, his movements fluid and precise. Yuki approached him with a wide grin on her face. "Saru, my uncle said to unfold the third page of the training manual. There's a hidden message," she exclaimed, barely able to contain her excitement. Saru stopped mid-swing, his attention fully captured by Yuki's words. He quickly retrieved the manual from his bag and turned to the designated page. Carefully unfolding it, his eyes scanned the illustrations until he noticed a faint inscription. With curiosity and anticipation, Saru deciphered the hidden message. It revealed a secret meeting place, deep within the forest, where a group of rebels was planning to gather. Saru's determination intensified as he realized the significance of this discovery. It was an opportunity to join forces with others who shared his desire for change and justice. "Yuki, this is incredible!" Saru exclaimed, a mix of excitement and determination in his voice. "We have a chance to make a real difference. Let's go to this meeting and join the rebels. Together, we can fight for a better future, not just for ourselves but for all those suffering under the kingdom's tyranny." Yuki nodded, her eyes gleaming with determination. "I'm with you, Saru. We'll fight side by side and bring justice to this land." The two friends shared a resolute gaze, ready to embark on their journey towards freedom and a brighter tomorrow. And so, under the moonlit sky, Saru and Yuki set off into the night, their hearts filled with hope and their spirits ablaze with the flames of rebellion. Little did they know that their actions would set in motion a chain of events that would challenge the very foundations of the kingdom and shape their destinies in ways they could never have imagined.
