Fight with a vampire

Since these vampires are planning to use the captured monsters for something, they are definitely related to the stampede incident.

So I think it would be safe to say they are hostile and its Ok to kill them.

After observing the vampires for some time, I saw that the vampires separate only when the monster is born.

And after restraining it, two of them go to the place where other monsters are being kept.

That place is in another room. I have a 5 minute window in that period. IF I can somehow finish off the left alone vampire and store his body in my item box and then hide again, I can then work on eliminating the other two.

I want to capture one to make them tell me where they have kept the kidnapped women but they have regenerating abilities so I am not sure if I can pull that off.

How about I make one faint and take him in the sun. Yeah that could work, since Charlotte san told me that their strength gets halved and prolonged exposure kills them, so they will not regenerate in sun.

Let’s work on capturing the last one and see if I can make him tell me everything. But let’s kill the other two first.

But the problem is I don’t know if I can one shot the vampire with my wands or not. I will fire both of my wands at him one after the other.

I know that the max Attack power of my gamma beam is 180 and is higher than both their magic and physical defence but only barely and only because they are weakened right now.

But that is maximum damage, which may not to be achieved.

So I ready both my wands and waited. After some time an orc shaped mana was born and while the three had their focus on restraining it, I jumped down quietly and moved closer to them and hid behind a stone slab.

Here a lot of tools and potions were lying. Seems like the vampires are using these for themselves or on monsters to restrain them. I will check them later.

Soon after subduing the monster, two of the vampire left the hall and only Roland was left.

I immediately aimed my gamma beam wand and stone bullet wand at his head. But now I had to recite the chant very fast, one after the other.

I decided to fire gamma beam first and as soon as the chant was finished I started chanting for stone bullet.

Meanwhile a colorless beam fired from my wand and directly hit his head. Before Roland could gain his bearings the stone bullet completed too and with a delay of 1 second it hit directly at his head.

Vampire Roland’s head burst and a hole was formed at the side of his head.

I ran towards him as fast as I could. The gamma beam was soundless but the stone bullet did produce some impact sound.

I am not sure if the other vampire heard it or not but they definitely might have sensed the smell of blood of their fellow vampire.

Meanwhile Roland is lying lifeless and only has 1 HP left which soon became zero.

I quickly stored his body in my item box and ran towards the other place where goblins are kept.

I hid there in the side of the corridor. There seems to be a lot of goblins in this big room but they all were quiet as if sleeping.

Of course I could not see a thing and I was basing everything based on my spirit eye and scan.

I peeked into the hall and soon the other two vampires came running into the hall.

Then one of them examined the spilled blood of Roland while the other stood cautiously and looked all around. Now that is troubling.

They will soon start searching for me. I hope they go separately though, since my wands have cool down and I can’t take multiple of them right now.

Seems like my prayers were heard and the two vampires went separately.

They are not unarmed though as I can clearly see a wand shaped weapons in form of mana with my eyes.

One of the vampires went towards the entrance from where I came from and the other was still looking around in the hall. He then started moving towards this room where goblins are kept.

I decided to set up a trap and placed Roland’s body on one side of the room and quickly hid on the other side of what felt like a stone slab based on my senses and waited for the vampire to enter.

I kept my wands ready. I hope 10 seconds are over, otherwise I am as good as dead.

After some time, the vampire entered in a flustered manner as he probably sensed Roland’s smell from his blood.

He ran towards Roland shouting his name. I was already chanting my spell and as soon as he bent to check up on Roland, I fired a gamma beam on his head from the back followed by a rock bullet.

This one too did not survive and died with those shots. Maybe gamma beam messes with their head and they are stunned for some time and therefore I get time to hit them with rock bullet.

But I know that the third one would not fall for the same trick because now he is already sure that there is an intruder here capable of killing vampires.

I might be able to face the third vampire head on but the thing is they can fly and might be able to dodge my attacks.

Its only because the ceiling in these rooms is low, they are walking I suppose.

I store the two bodies in my item box and wait for the third one. But suddenly I heard noises from the center hall.

When I went there to check and peeked, I saw that the third vampire was fighting an orcs alone. It was probably born while we were fighting.

But this is a good opportunity, infect I am in quite a luck. I sneakily moved into the hall and got closer to him from behind with 2 swords in my hand.

The vampire was busy subduing the orc. But just as he made the orc sleep, I jabbed my sword into his throat and immediately took out my other sword and cut off one of his hand holding the wand.

But something unexpected happened that I was not expecting. The vampire moved as if vanishing and jumped in air.

It then started flying. It did not had wings and nor it was floating. It was more like powerful jumps in air, like he is pushing the air with his still intact limbs.

It turned around midair and maneuvered itself to stick on the ceiling. His eyes were glowing red and fangs were shining even in dark.

I didn’t finish him because I wanted to interrogate him but that might have been a mistake. He is hell of a scary thing.

The way he moved, I am sure I will not be able to dodge him. I took out my wand in my right hand and a small shield in other and hoped the cool down was over.

I immediately chanting gamma beam, but the vampire was faster. Even with its throat and arm cut, it leaped with an unimaginable speed towards me.

I put up the shield between us and fired my magic. Thankfully the beam fired and hit the vampire’s stomach but it did not stop him in his leap and it jumped on my shield and bit me on the side of my neck.

I fell down with him straddling me. He held my shield with his intact arm trying to move my shield and kept his teeth sunk in me.

The pain was so excruciating that it made me want to loose my consciousness. But I persisted with my will power and took out a dagger from my item box after dropping my wand.

With what power I could gather I jabbed the dagger in his cheeks from the side of his mouth to make him loose the grip and jabbed it a second time in his neck.

After repeatedly stabbing him many times, it let go of me and went limp. I somehow rolled him to the side and stabbed him in his eyes upwards to reach his brain. That sealed the deal and he was dead.

But I was in too much pain. The wound was paining like crazy and I was losing my consciousness.

In almost half unconscious state I took out all the potions I had and scanned to find the wound heal potion and vampire poison antidote.

Drinking both of them brought some relief but the pain did not die immediately.

Seems like it will take time to cure the poison. I scanned myself and saw that my Hp had been reduced to 60. I took HP regeneration potion too.

Finally after suffering for I don’t know how long, the pain became manageable. I got up saw the dead vampire and regretted it.

I not only suffered such pain but also lost my source of information. Now the only thing l could hope is to find something that could give me clue to the whereabouts of the kidnapped people.

But man I never thought these vampires were that scary. The way they attack is so fierce and fast, almost impossible to see, moreover there is not light here to see anyways. This whole shit was too risky.

Let’s not waste any more time here. I moved fast. First I set up light sources and took out lighting lamps.

After that I searched the 3 vampire’s belongings. They had good armor, money weapons, potions, blood filled sacks, magic stones and few parchments with something written on it.

I read those as best as I could. One of the parchments had a giant magic circle drawn on it and to my surprise a similar magic circle was drawn on the floor of the center hall too with a lot of magic stones kept near it, at fixed intervals.

From what I understood from the parchments, this den is a dungeon.

The place where all mana was flowing into had a huge gem like thing on a pedestal. It was apparently a dungeon core. Unknowingly I have already entered a dungeon in this world.

But I think it was newly formed and originally was a simple cave when the vampire royal family was using it.

So apparently these vampires decided to use this dungeon core to get themselves some monsters.

They did that by engraving this magic circle on the pedestal that made the dungeon core to not expand the dungeon but instead just produce monsters at regular interval.

In fact it was still producing a goblin or an orc after every 20 minutes or so.

I had to kill those subdued goblins and orcs too. The other things on the parchments were some instructions to these vampires, about where to take these monsters, or how many they should deliver them etc.

One of the most important thing I have obtained is the map to the location where the monsters are to be taken.

And that also coincides with one of the hideouts that I have to visit on my way. I guess that would be my next destination.

The use of monsters is not written. But maybe its for stampede that happened.

Are they still planning to use the same tactics in other places too, to kidnap women mages. Or is it for some other reason.

Anyways I then searched the hideout and found similar things like blood sacks, clothes, weapons, potions, magic tools, sleeping potions for monsters and some money.

There was one room filled with a large number of magic stones too, apparently for powering the magic circle drawn near the dungeon core.

But is it even efficient to use the magic stones you get from killing monsters to again produce monsters?

Maybe the magic circle is helping in absorbing mana from surrounding so overall it ends up in producing many monsters by using less magic stones.

Anyway first I have to decide what to do with the monsters and maybe do something to stop dungeon core too.

I did not ask anyone about the dungeons of this world and how to kill the dungeon. But let’s go with the game knowledge and act accordingly.
