Chapter 69:

Dinner in New York

Escape Witch

As the girls reached the hotel, Madoka went on guard.

"Hmm? What's wrong Madoka?" Yuni asked.

"I feel like we're being watched. Like watched by a stalker kind of watched," Madoka whispered.

"I knew that Frank guy rubbed me the wrong way. Well I doubt they can do much now that we're here though. No going out though," Emeri stated.

The girls went back up to their room and lounged as Madoka made more chili.

"I wonder how this would taste in a crepe. Maybe splort some mayo on it, dump sugar... I can't wait to eat this stuff when we get back," Madoka mused.

"Hmm, I couldn't find anything on Frank Lingua being with Illumous. Of course I've only searched through the known members so it's possible he's still a member," Emeri grumbled.

"That guy was a bit suspicious though. There's no way he couldn't have seen us just walking by from where he came from, yet he acted like we saw the exhibit," Serika grumbled.

"But we did, well you guys did back in Japan," Yuni stated.

"And that's it. If he knows we saw the exhibit in Japan, he knows who we are."

"Well, I might as well give Aunite an update," Emeri said as she called Harumi.

"Emeri, is everything going alright?" Harumi asked.

"Just fine. We'll be on a flight to Norway tomorrow morning."

"That's good to hear. Eriza's also doing fine, though she's a little upset she can't do sports right now."

"I'm just glad she's OK. I'm sure she'll liven up when I come back tomorrow."

"Hey Momma! Do you have the chili?" Madoka asked.

"I'm working on it. Don't worry, you'll be having my own brand of Ginkawa chili when you get home tomorrow."

"OO yay! Slap some in a crepe and add mayo too!"

"I thought you didn't like the crepes here."

"I don't hate them, I just like some of the mainland ones better."

"Well, the town we're next to does have a nice pastry and crepe place."

"YAY! I can't wait to get back."

"Anyway, stay on guard though. Who knows who might be watching."

As the call ended, there was a knock at the door.

"Room service."

Emeri opened the door to see a bellboy with a cart of food.

"Oh good, grub's here," Serika smiled.

The bellboy smiled as the girls took their food off and placed it on the table. He then left with the cart.

"So whatcha ya order?" Madoka asked as she snarfed some chili.

"I ordered a burger," Serika stated.

"Chicken tenders for me," Yuni smiled.

"Sushi," Emeri bluntly stated.

"Not a fan of American food huh?" Yuni chuckled.

"It's loaded with fats. I don't understand how Americans can eat some of the food they're served. Even the WcWarnolds here are more unhealthy than the ones back in Japan."

"The chili's good though."

"Well, at least we'll be eating healthy when we get back to the mansion."

As the girl's finished, Yuni, Serika, and Emeri grew sleepy. They all fell asleep at the table.

"Dang, guess I wore them out. We really did walk around a lot," Madoka chuckled as she gobbled down another can of chili.

"I hope they sell chili cans at the airport. I'm not sure if they'll let me check all these cans I have left," Madoka thought as she pulled out her phone.

Suddenly, the door to the room opened and some bellboys with large suitcases entered. They froze when Madoka made eye contact with them.

"[Why's she awake!? I thought we drugged the food!]" one said.

"[I-GAAH!]"

Before the other could respond, Madoka had kicked the two into unconsciousness.

"Drugging the food? Dammit, Illumous must have agents managing the kitchen. Though maybe, I can turn things against them," Madoka thought.

                                                                             ...

A balding man with a curly orange beard, stared as a lone bellboy approached him with four suitcases.

"[You can handle all 4? Well not like I'm complaining. Though did you get shorter?]" the man asked.

"[No, I just had to change shoes,]" the bellboy stated.

"[Well load em into the car. Since you're strong, you can come to the museum with us. We'll be unloading them there and repackaging them before we ship em off to the archives.]"

"[Yes sir.]"

As the man turned away, the bellboy begrudgingly followed.

"Shit. I was hoping he'd take us straight to the airport. If I had known, I would have brought the two goons instead," Madoka thought as she rolled the suitcases containing Emeri, Serika, Madoka, and their luggage along with her.

As she loaded the suitcases into the car, she noticed the balding man had already gotten in the passenger's seat. Just as she loaded the last suitcase containing a person into the back, the car suddenly sped away. Leaving Madoka in the bellboy uniform behind with the suitcase containing the luggage.

"HOW!? There's no way they could have noticed. I even smeared some goop in my hair to change it's color. Plus How could they tell that I loaded just those 3. Who was that man?" Madoka thought.

                                                                            ...

"[And why did you just drive off like that? There was still a suitcase,]" the balding man grumbled.

"[Apologies Mr.Archibald, but the girl meant to be in that suitcase was the one loading the other ones in,]" the driver replied.

"[Well, you are a smart one, so I'll take your word for it. Though what should we do about her?]"

"[Let her come to us. Then we can arrest her for trying to break into the National Archives.]"
