Chapter 7:

Nighttime Goo attack

Saga of Saturn: Benevolent Processor

"Saturn, could you please return to your normal self to avoid causing any further panic?" Lumi requested.

Saturn hesitated, suspicious of Lumi's motives. "Huh? 'Turn,' you say. If I do, you might use the stupidity of my smaller form to deceive me, right?"

Before the tension could escalate further, a commanding voice intervened—the voice of Plutonia. She approached with clenched fists and an angered expression, positioning herself between the two quarreling women. Plutonia demanded peace, her authoritative presence diffusing the tension. Lumi promptly reverted to her normal form, and Saturn, after a moment of hesitation, followed suit.

Plutonia, now standing between them, asserted, "This is undoubtedly a misunderstanding. Please stop fighting, especially right in front of this memorial." She then turned to Lumi with an inquisitive look. "Lumi, could you please explain who he was and why he tried to harm my sister?"

Without hesitation, Lumi provided a clear explanation, her voice filled with sincerity. "That man—his fighting style resembled someone who used to work for me. His name was Aren. That's why I initially thought Saturn overreacted and attacked him when he meant no harm, but—"

Saturn interjected, her tone still filled with suspicions, "He tried to put a spell on me, Wumi. You can't have the main protagonist taken out so early in the story!"

Lumi's expression shifted as a realization dawned on her. "Now that I think about it, he was confirmed dead a long time ago. So I'm sorry, Saturn. I deeply apologize for raising my sword against you." She offered a deep and sincere bow.

Saturn responded with a warm smile and a dismissive wave, signaling that she harbored no hard feelings. Plutonia breathed a sigh of relief, grateful that the tension had dissipated and the two had reconciled. However, a lingering curiosity gnawed at her. Why did Lumi mistake the cloaked figure for Aren if he was confirmed dead? Was she simply still not over his death? She decided to shelve her questions for the moment, content that peace had been restored between her companions.

"Wumi!" Saturn exclaimed in happiness, soaring over to a nearby trash can. She perched on all fours, grinning broadly. If she had a tail, it would have been spinning like a propeller and have taken off into the deep abyss of space. "I found the charm!" She jumped back up, waving it around like a joyful child. Laughter filled the air as the three shared a moment of joy, marking the resolution of one mystery from their growing list. Three significant ones remained: the identity of the cloaked man, the missing crates, and the Polanoire ring. They collectively decided to set aside these puzzles for now, choosing to spend the remainder of the day in peace and create happier memories after a minor conflict.

They walked on into the city as day seamlessly transitioned into night. Streetlights flickered to life one by one, casting a gentle glow on the pristine snowflakes drifting from the sky. The city's storefronts, adorned with colorful signs, gradually dimmed their lights, as the streets became less busy, slowly turning into a ghost town. As suggested by Lumi the two sisters remained in Lklandkeeling slowly wobbling their way back to the Dae Turris.

"You're not walking straight, S...Saturn,"

"Hihi, and your cheeks are all red. You'll catch a cold, ya know," Saturn responded with a mischievous grin.

"Just walk on straight now, both of you," Lumi advised, chuckling at their slightly tipsy state.

They finally arrived at their destination. Lumi wished them a good night and directed them to the butler they had encountered earlier. He guided them to their rooms located on the highest floor of the secondary complex. The two sisters, leaning on each other for support, stumbled along, somehow managing to get into the elevator and down the corridors to their room. As soon as the door to their room opened the two crashed on the floor at the center of the room seemingly falling asleep immediately. The butler stared at the two of them as he slowly backed out of the room, carefully locking the door as he left.

In the darkness of their room, Saturn murmured softly, "Pluu, pluu."

Plutonia, responded with a gentle, "Hmm?"

Lying there together, they continued their quiet murmurs, the soothing sounds lulling them into a peaceful slumber.

A subtle knock came over from the window covered by blinds. Plutonia being the one still awake got up to see where it came from. As Plutonia opened the blinds, her eyes widened in surprise. She urgently called to her still-sleepy sister, "Hey, Saturn." Saturn groggily woke up and stumbled over, half-asleep and leaning against Plutonia, seemingly about to fall back asleep on her feet.

"Saturn," Plutonia said again, this time with her voice trembling.

"Pluu, Pluu," Saturn mumbled.

In a sudden and frantic motion, Plutonia yanked Saturn in front of her and forcefully opened her sister's eyelids. The sight that met their gaze was chilling: a mysterious figure with crimson glowing eyes stared directly at them through the window. Strange goo dripped from his ominous form as he remained ominously motionless.

Saturn's scream pierced the air as she leaped into Plutonia's arms, her voice reaching an ear-popping pitch. Plutonia, her heart pounding with fear, rushed toward the door, desperately trying to unlock it. Panic coursed through her veins as she realized the door was securely locked, refusing to budge no matter how hard she pushed or pulled.

Meanwhile, the dark figure outside the window continued its eerie advance, slowly phasing through the glass. Gooey substance dripped from its ethereal form, staining the floor. Its movements were fluid and unsettling, a nightmarish presence drawing nearer.

"Pervert, pervert, pervert!" Saturn's frantic screams filled the room, her arms tightening around Plutonia's neck like a vise.

“Saturn I can't breathe you’re-”

Suddenly, the pressure around Plutonia's neck eased, but she felt an immense weight pressing down on her back as she realized she was suddenly down on the floor. Confusion swirled within her until she realized what had happened—Saturn had unintentionally transformed and dropped on top. With her newfound power, Saturn's warrior instincts kicked in, and she summoned her sword. Without hesitation, she lunged at the black figure, the blade of her sword slashing across its chest with a single, swift motion. In an instant, the figure dissipated into nothingness, leaving no trace behind. The room was silent once more, the eerie presence gone as quickly as it had come.

"Dear sister, I believe the thing is gone," Saturn declared with a triumphant smile on her face. Plutonia did not return the smile. Fear still lingered in her eyes, and Saturn couldn't understand why. She turned around, and her heart froze as she came face to face with the towering black figure, its head nearly scraping the ceiling.

"Oh, so that's what's terrifying," Saturn joked, attempting to hide her own unease.

Before she could react, the black figure unleashed a deafening roar. Its right arm transformed into a massive bear claw, delivering a devastating blow that sent Saturn hurtling through the locked door and through a pair of walls that came crashing down.

Plutonia sat motionless, panic coursing through her as she watched her sister disappear. The black figure advanced steadily, the sound of its gooey substance splattering on the floor growing louder and heavier.

"Saturn, help me. Please, I beg you—"

"Oi, you siscon pervert," Saturn's voice echoed through the building, cutting through the tension. Her giant sword soared through the air, tearing through the figure's body like a speeding bullet. It stumbled back, and Saturn rushed forward, summoning three different weapons that hovered around her and shot out at her command. They cut straight through the figure, tearing its body off into gooey chunks.

Saturn, now wielding a massive hammer, leaped onto the bed beside Plutonia. She swung the hammer around in a full clockwise rotation, pounding the figure and sending it hurtling back out the same window it had entered from. The room was left in disarray, but the terrifying presence was gone once more.

“Saturn!” Plutonia gave out a huge cry of relief as she ran and jumped into Saturn’s arms. The two sisters stood together, hugging one another and calming down Plutonia’s tears.

“Saturn, Plutonia.” A voice interrupted their sister moment, and out the door, Lumi's bed hair appeared as she slowly poked through. Her face going completely pale upon the sight of all the destruction. Her full body now came into view, standing in complete disbelief. "Lumi. Nice PJs," Saturn remarked with a cheeky grin, not quite appreciating the humor in the situation. Lumi's silence spoke volumes, and she slowly turned away, heading for the elevator without saying a word. The room was left in an awkward silence, punctuated only by the faint sound of the elevator descending.

“You think she’s angry?” asked Plutonia

“She will wake up tomorrow thinking it was a dream and will actually get angry once she sees these rooms again tomorrow morning.” Answered Saturn.

The next morning, Saturn’s guess became a reality. The two sisters got an extremely long lecture from Lumi, even having to bring Histoike on call to truly get to them. Whenever they tried explaining what happened she refused to listen, her anger completely spilling out with every action and word that came out of her.

Histoike on a hologram behind Lumi cut in and silenced her for a moment. Allowing Saturn and Plutonia to explain the events that occurred yesterday. Once they began describing the dark figure Lumi’s and Histoikie’s voices called out at the same time.

“Aren!”
