Chapter 11:

Finally, I found you?

Rebirth of the mighty overlord

"Would it be okay if I tried?" Alan asked, Suzu was surprised for a moment before she smiled somewhat pleasantly. "I don't think that's a good idea, we still don't know what element you specialize in, nor do we know which of the two magic you are compatible with either." Suzu said, giving a logical reasoning but, "Its fine I want to try using magic." Alan said, in an eagerly manner.

Suzu looked at him and smiled bitterly before pondering to herself. "Then let's try magic, if it doesn't work then you're probably more suited for spirit magic instead." She said, resigning to teach him about magic. Even though she is a spirit magic user she had a lot of knowledge in the field of magic as well.

Alan's eyes sparkled at that as he was filled with the urge to jump for joy.

[For someone who had lived for hundreds of years its quite funny seeing you acting like a small child. Or maybe Alan's consciousness still exists within you somewhere.] Akane pondered to herself.

'I'm just acting the part, weren't you the one who said I'm a child to those around me.' Alan responded.

[Hey, don't use my own words against me and also... Don't forget there is still a chance that you won't be able to learn either magic or spirit magic in your excitement.] She retorted back.

"Hey! What are you two doing?" Trisa frantically came running back asked. "I shall teach the young master how to use magic." Suzu answered, cooly.

"Eh! isn't he a bit too young for that?" Trisa asked, staring at her sister incredulously.

She quickly turned her head to observe the surroundings but sighed as no one was around at the moment. "Heh, it should be fine it's not like he will be using some dangerous spells." Suzu said calmly.

"Okay, if you say so." Trisa shrug her shoulders giving up.

"Now then young master try to feel the mana in the atmosphere, unlike spirit magic where the user draws spiritual energy from within their body. Magic users draws their magical energy from their surroundings and used that energy as a catalyst to invoke spells." Suzu explained.

"As for the spell try using flare, it's a low-level fire spell. Mainly used as a form of light source." Trisa suggest. Alan closed his eyes and tried to feel the mana within the atmosphere. [You can feel it too, can't you?] Akane's voice sounded. 'Yes.' Alan replied.

Even though he couldn't see it there were many tiny molecules of energy moving around the surroundings, while spiritual energy came from deep within the soul, mana was a type of energy that exists everywhere. A mage is able to easily manipulate such energy to use spells.

"Flare." He chanted. Suzu and Trisa wasn't able to see it from the angle of which he held his hand but, an unknown marking written in black ink appeared at the back of Alan's hand and glowed for a brief moment before disappearing.

[Hm? That presence just now...] Akane's voice trembled as she thought of something.

Once the strange and unfamiliar marking disappeared a magic formation appeared above Alan's outstretched hand. And soon "!?" A large amount of dark colored flame gathered there; the flame shot up towards the sky like a rocket.

"Eh?" Alan's dumfounded voice sounded out. Meanwhile, both Trisa and Suzu wore stupefied gazes as they stared skywards.

"H-Hey! Didn't you say it was a low leveled spell?!" Suzu turned towards Trisa next to her and screamed. Trisa's jaw was so wide that one would think it would fall to the ground anytime now. ".... B-But it really was a low leveled spell, you know. That spell was used mostly for light source, I didn't know it could be used like that." Trisa was clearly as confused as everyone present.

'Strange, the spell activated before I could implement any mana inside it.' Alan stared at his palm in confusion. He was certain he didn't used any mana and yet... for some reason the spell activated on its own. 'M-Maybe I should try using another spell?' He wondered. Alan ignored the two distressed sisters and walked towards a particular location of the garden.

He didn't want to risk damaging the plants, so he went towards an area that had less greenery and more rocks.

Alan slowly closed his eyes and felt the mana embracing the world's atmosphere. While he wasn't as skilled at controlling mana than he was at controlling spiritual energy he could still feel it around him and manipulate it to a certain extent.

He didn't know the reason why but, ever since he was small, he wasn't good at using mana, there was no compatibility between himself and the world's mana. He was more in tuned with spiritual essence than any other energy.

The goddess, Udea tried investigating this problem, but she was never able to figure out where the problem lies. When he had questioned Akane about this she would always remain silent, and it didn't seem like she had any interest in explaining the problem.

'That feeling why? Why does it feel somewhat familiar to me' He kept asking himself that question but. Unfortunately, he came up with no answers. Akane was unusually quiet.

"Maybe I'll try that spell big sis Trisa used?" Alan pondered to himself, he went towards an opened space and faced a large rock and held out his hand. "Water ball!" The moment he uttered those words something unusual happened "?!" The strange marking once again reappeared on his outstretched hand and at the same time an unknown magic formation appeared. A powerful blast of water shot out like a jet easily exceeding the speed of sound and collided with the rock.

BANG!!!

The rock broke apart from the point of impact as it was unable to endure the pressure that struck with such a heavy forced! "Eh! Was that magic?" Alan questioned, confused. 'That attack just now, wasn't that water black? Its power was also way too strong compared with the spell Trisa used moments ago.' Alan thought to himself.

[Tsk!] Alan was lost in thought when the sound of someone clicking their tongue sounded inside his head. "Akane is something wrong?" He asked, "..." However, he got no response even after asking her several times.

For some reason currently unknown to him she was no longer in a good mood after seeing him used that spell. In reality Akane for some reasons hated the marking that appeared on his arm but. Unfortunately, Alan was too focused on his spell to notice such things.

[Tch, that bitch is still alive. And she dared to mark my partner, unforgiveable!] The usual gentle Akane's voice was seething with visible hatred.

...

In an unknown space....

The figure of a woman could be seen floating amidst the eerie darkness. The woman had long black hair that seemed to defy gravity as they kept floating as though they had a mind of their own, as a consequence of the dark space it was impossible to see the face of the woman. All that was visible was her glowing red eyes.

The pressure that this woman exuded was otherworldly, even the dark space seems to tremble constantly as though struggling to keep itself from collapsing. The woman suddenly turned her head to a particular direction, her blood red eyes which seemed as though they could see through everything suddenly lit up "... Finally, I finally found you." A soft yet melodious voice sounded amidst the darkness.

...

"Why, young master are you, okay?" Trisa asked, as she came running behind him. Alan said nothing and kept looking at the destroyed rock for a moment. 'The same thing happened again, I didn't used any mana and yet... the spell activated on its own.' He thought. 'What exactly is going on here?' He wondered.

[You won't get any answers from thinking about something you don't understand, you know.] Akane's voiced echoed within his head, Alan frowned as he notices her usual gentle voice lost a lot of its warmth.

'You, do you know something?' He asked, [.... Nothing you need to know right now aside from the fact that a really troublesome bitch will be coming after you in the near future.] Akane said, her voice filled with indignation.

'Eh! Troublesome, you say? can you elaborate more?' "..." Alan sighed as he got no response from Akane. He was naturally curious about this woman she was talking about but, since she didn't have much interest in explaining he decided not to pursue the matter any further.

Then he turned to both Trisa and Suzu. "No need to worry, but can you keep this a secret from my mother... I promise I'll keep my mouth shut about the damage tree." Alan said with a sly smile. He didn't want anyone to know about this training, so he hoped they would keep quiet about it.

Trisa practically jumps for joy and embrace Alan and shouted, "You have a deal!" Even though she was curious about the spell Alan used moments ago, if not saying anything about it means he would stay quiet about the damage tree, then she was fine.

Meanwhile, the corners of Suzu's mouth trembled a few times. "Isn't this kid a little too smart for a nine-year-old." She muttered to herself. However, Suzu suddenly turned her head towards the broken rock that was shattered to pieces and left scattered around, she narrowed her eyes as her brown pupil's flash with a peculiar glint as she muttered somewhat dubiously under her breath. "That attack just now... was that really magic?"

...

Meanwhile, in a white space...

A beautiful woman could be seen there, the woman donned a red gown that reaches her feet and had hair as white as snow, her eyes were a beautiful shade of blue and her skin smooth and soft as silk.

As Akane observe this scene in her spirit form a frown couldn't help but appear on her beautiful face.

"Sigh, what am I supposed to do with that woman observing us now?" She muttered to herself.

Even though parts of her memories are still missing she still remembers the danger that woman impose.

"... I need to regain my strength, and fast! I won't allow you to have my master, not a second time!" The white space trembled as Akane exuded a powerful pressure.
