Chapter 190:

Chapter 190 An Unexpected Guest

Content of the Magic Box

As Larry and Suzuka made their way out of the palace and into the streets of the main town, a heavy silence hung between them. Larry's troubled thoughts weighed on him, and Suzuka, despite her curiosity, sensed that this was a topic best left undisturbed for now.

The main town was a stark contrast to the outskirts she had become familiar with. Unsoiled streets were lined with grand residences, and well-dressed townsfolk walked about, their conversations filled with polite laughter and intrigue. Suzuka couldn't help but be awed by the luxury of it all, though her thoughts kept drifting back to the goblin and the tense exchange she had overheard.

As they walked, Suzuka decided to shift the conversation to a lighter topic.

"So, Larry," she began, trying to inject some cheer into their journey, "tell me more about this place. What's it like to live in the main town, surrounded by all this luxury and nobility?"

Larry appreciated the change in subject and attempted to muster a smile.

"Well," he started, "it's quite different from what we're used to. The main town is a place of privilege, where the elite live their lives in grandeur. There are elegant events, extravagant parties, and a certain sense of sophistication that permeates everything. But it also comes with its share of politics and intrigue, which can be as treacherous as any monster we've faced."

Suzuka nodded, taking in the sights and sounds of the bustling town around her.

"It sounds like a whole different world. But what brought you here, Larry? You don't strike me as the type who'd settle for a life of luxury and leisure."

Larry's gaze turned distant for a moment before he replied, "It is a story for another time, maybe. Let's just say that I needed to be where the action is, where the decisions are made, to protect what matters most."

Suzuka glanced at him, sensing the weight of his words.

"Well, you certainly keep things interesting," she said with a grin.

"Whatever it is you're involved in, just remember, I've got your back."

Larry's somber expression softened, and he gave Suzuka a grateful nod.

"Thanks, Helen. That means a lot."

As they continued their journey through the bustling streets of the main town, Suzuka couldn't help but turn to Larry with curiosity bubbling in her eyes. She leaned in a bit closer and asked, "Larry," she began, her voice hushed amidst the lively city sounds, "what are your genuine thoughts about Hermit and his kind? Do you truly believe that the people of this town would ever accept him and other goblins?"

Larry's gaze lingered in the air, his expression thoughtful. He finally responded, his voice tinged with a hint of resignation, "No, Helen, there's no place for him or his kin here, at least not yet. Prejudice runs deep in these streets, and there will always be those who discriminate and wish harm upon him and his kind. What I think of Hermit doesn't matter much now, because, by the end of the day... well, it doesn't matter." He paused, his words hanging in the air.

"This is where we part ways, Helen," Larry continued with a heavy sigh.

"See you soon." With that, he turned and walked away, his shoulders weighed down by the weight of his unspoken thoughts.

Suzuka waved, "Goodbye, Larry," her mind already churning with new ideas as she watched him disappear into the crowd.

As Suzuka passed through the imposing gates of the main city, her thoughts swirled with intriguing possibilities. The notion of employing the goblin hatchlings as a labor force, having them toil ceaselessly to build and harvest until exhaustion claimed them, only to replace them with fresh recruits from the breeding farms, tugged at the corners of her ambitious mind.

She muttered to herself, a sly smile dancing on her lips, "Hmmm. So, these dimwitted goblins can be used as a labor force, getting them to build or harvest things until they drop, and just replace them with new ones after robbing the breeding farms. There are hundreds of goblin hatchling slaves. If I could play my cards right, I could build my own town by exploiting these dimwits and when done, just discard them... Interesting... very interesting. Valerius said they are thinking about building a facility to temporarily house them, If I play cards right, I could talk them into helping me build my own town in the pretense of a goblin shelter for their needs."

Her eyes sparkled with cunning as a vision of her future began to take shape. She continued her internal monologue, "And I just know the perfect place to start building, I remember the maps from the guild where three magic boxes form a triangle, If I score that land it would profit me greatly. The forest is abundant with stone and wood. All I would need is a workforce and tools. Goblins would be a working force and tools... well, I would get them by requesting Valerius for support. I could manage the monsters that dwell there until we have sturdy walls built. But I would need someone to create a proper layout for the town, hmmm... It won't be that simple."

Suzuka realized that her ambitious plan required careful planning and strategy. She couldn't help but feel the excitement of a new venture coursing through her veins, a vision of her own town rising from the wilderness, built upon the sweat and labor of goblin hatchlings, who would unknowingly serve as the foundation of her grand vision.

But I'd need someone with architectural skills to design a town layout... A dwarf would be ideal, they are best in the business but finding one who would design a town I envision won't be that simple."

Yet, in the midst of her ambitious daydreaming, a sudden realization struck her like a lightning bolt: the goblin, innocent and defenseless, had been left in the hands of David, his tormentor. A man whose capacity for cruelty and deception knew no bounds. Her meticulously laid grand plans hung in the balance, teetering on the ridge of disaster.

Suzuka's heart raced, and her mind conjured vivid and terrifying scenarios. In the deepest recesses of her imagination, she envisioned David creating unspeakable torments for the goblin, each one more sadistic and horrifying than the last. She imagined the poor creature's piteous cries echoing through the darkened corners of his mind before he killed him.

Fueled by this chilling realization, she quickened her pace, her steps echoing with urgency as she made her way toward her temporary home, the Mystic Oasis Inn.

Finally, after a few hours of leisurely strolling through the town, she arrived back at her room. In a hurry, she shed her adventurer's attire and draped herself in a plush towel. Her body practically hummed with anticipation as she made her way to the inviting hot spring bath, a sanctuary of steam and tranquility.

Within its soothing waters, she allowed her cares to dissolve into nothingness. Her muscles, once tense with worry, are now relaxed. She surrendered to the intoxicating warmth and drifted into a rejuvenating nap, the gentle embrace of the hot spring cradling her dreams.

Emerging from the bath, her skin radiant and her spirits lifted. She ordered a delicious meal, complete with tantalizing flavors and a refreshing quencher, which she took back to her room

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting the town streets into eerie, elongated shadows, Suzuka made her final preparations for the evening. She slipped into her most alluring and skimpy underwear, a garment that accentuated her every curve and elicited desire in even the most stoic of hearts.

She settled onto her plush and inviting bed but just as she was about to plunge her fork into a particularly delectable morsel, an unexpected and thunderous bang at her door shattered the tranquility of her sensual evening. Her startled reaction was so dramatic that the morsel on her fork hung in suspense for a moment, frozen between anticipation and gravity, before tragically tumbling to the floor.

Startled, Suzuka slowly pushed herself up from her bed, her heart racing as she made her way toward the door. Each step seemed to echo in the sudden silence of her room.

With deliberate caution, she gripped the doorknob and slowly turned it, revealing David on the other side. His frame leaned heavily against the door frame, his chest rising and falling with labored breaths that hinted at an exhausting journey. His head hung low, casting his face in shadow.

Slowly, he raised his eyes to meet Suzuka's, and what he saw caused his cheeks to flush a deep shade of crimson. In his flustered state, he lost his balance and tumbled backward, landing on the floor with an undignified thud. The sight of Suzuka in her alluring attire left him momentarily speechless, his jaw hanging slightly ajar as his stammering voice finally broke through, "Wh-wh-what... what are you wearing? Why are you... naked?" His words trailed off, lost in the whirlwind of his surprise and embarrassment.

Suzuka's toned body, adorned in delicate, revealing lingerie, was an embodiment of desire, a vision that transcended mortal temptation. Her skin, kissed by the soft glow of the room, appeared flawless and radiant. The lacy fabric left just enough to the imagination, accentuating her curves and leaving her beauty to the imagination. It was a tableau of allure that seized David's senses and left him momentarily breathless.

His thoughts scattered like leaves in a storm, his rationality overwhelmed by the potent cocktail of lust and longing. In that charged moment, all else seemed to fade into the background, and a primal hunger awakened within him.

Suzuka, recognizing the effect her presence had on David, decided to seize this momentary advantage. She maintained her seductive posture, leaning slightly against the door frame, allowing her gaze to linger provocatively on him.

With a sultry smile, she purred, "Well, well, well, David. What brings you to my door at this hour? You seem... out of breath." Her voice was a honeyed melody, laced with a hint of playful mischief.

Suzuka, with a sultry smile playing at her lips, took a slow step towards David, her eyes never leaving his. Her voice, dripping with honeyed allure, broke the silence that hung heavy in the air.

"David," she purred, her words like a seductive melody, "to what do I owe this... unexpected visit?"

David, his gaze still locked on Suzuka's enchanting form, seemed momentarily at a loss for words. He swallowed hard, his throat dry and constricted, as if trying to find his voice amidst the haze of desire that had enveloped him.

His mind was a whirlwind of conflicting emotions, but desire seemed to be winning the battle. Finally, he managed to stammer, "I... I needed to speak with you urgently."

Suzuka stepped forward, her body moving sinuously as she closed the distance between them. She reached out and gently traced a finger along David's jawline, her touch sending shivers down his spine.

"Urgently, you say?" she purred, her lips tantalizingly close to his ear.

"Well, you have my full attention now. Tell me, what is it that couldn't wait?"

David lost in the intoxicating presence of Suzuka, found it increasingly difficult to focus on the matter at hand. But as the heat of the moment threatened to consume him, he managed to regain some semblance of composure. With great effort, he forced himself to remember the perilous situation with the goblin.

Breaking free from Suzuka's seductive aura, he stammered, "The goblin... It's in danger. I need your help to save it."
