Chapter 29:

Breakfast

Bitter-Sweet

Volume 5- Virus

"Hurry up! Move your asses!," someone yelled as the men in black clothing carried big boxes into the warehouse.

It was midnight and the streets were isolated. The roads were decorated but there was no one outside.

Black Monday's Silver team was filling the warehouse with gifts for district three; gifts which would be enough for the entire district. The men worked hard until the warehouse was bursting with boxes. Then, they locked the warehouse and left. They would be back in the morning.

"Aroma, merry Christmas!," Kayla said, waking Aroma up.

She had a big smile on her face and she was dressed up for breakfast. They were going to have breakfast at the Golden Rose.

"Kayla, let me sleep for five more minutes," Aroma sleepily said, turning on her side.

"But it's Christmas! Wake up!," she said, pushing her.

Aroma furiously sat on the bed now. She was shocked to Kayla wearing a purple colored top with black pants along with a very thick black jacket.

"What are you so dressed up for?," she asked her.

"We're going to the Golden Rose for breakfast!," Kayla excitedly answered.

"Why? That restaurant is the most expensive restaurant here. Right?," Aroma asked, as she made her way towards the bathroom.

"I don't know. Mr. Young told me we were eating there so we had to look rich," she said.

"How many times are we gonna eat there? Won't Mr. Verlice get mad at us if we use too much of his money?," she asked.

"It's only the second time we're eating there! And I don't think Mr. Verlice cares about the money. He is the one who's doing all of this for us, after all," Kayla said, rolling her eyes.

"Really?," Aroma asked.

"Yeah, really. I'm waiting outside. Hurry up and get dressed," she said and left.

"Oh, merry Christmas, miss Nash and miss Justin! Both of you look pretty as always," Mr. Young said to the two girls when they met him in the lobby.

Mr. Young had been looking somewhat sexy these days. Everything about him had become extremely attractive. He wore a black shirt with a black winter coat along with black pants. His hair looked wonderful.

Meanwhile, Aroma wore a white turtleneck along with blue pants with the same jacket from yesterday. She looked cute.

"Should we leave, then?," Mr. Young asked.

The girls nodded and they left.

At the Golden Rose, they were seated at the same table from yesterday and Brad met them when they had taken their seats. Chef Mancini was there again.

When Chef Mancini entered the private section the second time, Aroma figured out she was focusing on him more than she was on the luxurious breakfast before her.

She gulped when she saw him. He was so handsome to her. She wanted to talk to him and wanted to ask for his number but she was too shy to do that. She had taken extra care of her looks today. She had hoped he'd look at her and blush but all of her efforts had been in vain up until now.

It was when he had left that she realized that the people on the table with her were asking her a question.

"Miss Mintz, are you listening?," Mr. Young asked.

"Ariel!," Kayla said, waving her hands in front of her face.

Aroma suddenly blinked.

"Yes?," she asked.

"Have you seen the news?," Brad asked.

"What news?," she asked.

"The news that says that district three has gotten gifts," Kayla said.

"What?! What gifts?," Aroma asked.

"That is what we're here for! We're here to find out what gifts this district is gonna get and when and how they'll be given to this entire district," Mr. Young explained.

"Black Monday is doing this. Right?," Aroma asked.

"Of course they are, you dumb idiot!," Kayla said, rolling her eyes.

Aroma laughed.

"Sorry for disturbing you but there's something outside that you gotta see!," chef Mancini shouted as he suddenly ran inside.

He was panting.

"Is everything ok, Niccolo?," Brad asked.

"Brad, it's here! The virus is here!," he said in a very serious tone.
