Chapter 277:

Die Rangers

Museworld

Leon, Bolt, and Pumpkin approached, weapons holstered- but you could almost feel the piercing gazes through their black reflective masks.

Frankie was expecting the three to strike a pose and do their intro, but was disappointed when Die Ranger Bolt just said something to Tara she didn’t understand and all crossed their arms like ordinary cops.

<What seems to be the problem, Rangers?> The outlaw had seen this before- you knew you were really in trouble when they weren’t keeping up their hero act- usually, fans would “get caught” on purpose to see their performance. It was more of a service than anything. Of course, having been in this situation so many times, they could already see all their routes of escape. Alleys to the left. A friendly restaurant to the right. A manhole not far behind, if they were really desperate. They thought they’d be nice to their guests and settle for one of the first two options.

<You’ve hurt our guests for the last time.> Leon stated. It was strange- he looked to be the exact shape and size as the version in the animated show, exaggerations intact. Is that more cybernetics? Frankie wondered, not sure whether to be scared or in awe of the park’s painful attention to detail.

Defiantly, Tala sat their cybernetic hands on their hips.

<Come on, ain’t I a guest too? I’m just making my own fun.> They smirked. <Gotta cater to all visitors, not just the freaks who keep you rich. Or is this just you meeting your quota for the day?> The outlaw pecked at their dignity.

<You don’t understand.> Pumpkin piped up, hand on her orange plasma gun. Frankie wondered if it really worked like in the show. <The time for fun is over. We’re taking you to Miyano-San.>

The fangirl perked up at the mention of her idol.

Tala took notice of this.

<Fine, then.> The prisoner smiled, offering their hands to be cuffed. <Take me and my accomplices away.>

Frankie looked at her sister and at Tara before putting her own wrists up to the fictional rangers. Katie was a little confused to be sure, but she figured the other two had a plan. That, and she was just happy to get the experience.

<Thank you for your cooperation…> The staff sounded pretty un-thankful as they graciously cuffed and directed the three vigilantes straight to their boss’ door.

Frankie beamed at her criminal new friend. “Thank you…!” She whispered as they were taken away.

Tara nodded and got ready for another scolding.
