Chapter 47:

Dragons! Dragons!?

Hacker Class

Alden heard the sound of beating winds, and fierce roars. Sounds that that came from a dragon. It was about the size of a cow, and it hovered over Alden, it's winds flapping to keep itself in the air.

Alden gazed in wonder at the creature before him. Dragons were a unique type of monster, and they were barely found by hunters.

Alden watched the dragon as it roared at him, before charging toward him.

"you know, I have two missions today," Alden said with a little chuckle."mission one is to fight using all of my available combat skills."

The dragon grew closer and closer, clearly paying no heed to Alden speaking.

"As for mission 2?"

It was now a few dozen meters away.

"Fight hand to hand combat for at least 50% of the dungeon mission."

[GRAVITY (lv 4) ACTIVATED]

"Now let's test my power, shall we?"

The dragon it's front limbs before swing it's scaly hand toward Alden. It's claws reflected light from the torches on the wall, and Alden could see his reflection in it as the dragon swung it's arm.

Why could he see his reflection? Wasn't the dragon arm too fast for him? No, it wasn't.

The dragon swung in slow motion to Alden, who easily avoided the blow.

"Such a low level dragon? This is something for old me!" Alden thought to himself before flying toward the dragon. He swung his arm, and could feel the gravity energy running through his arm.

His fist made contact. He felt the hard scales of the dragon break as he sent it flying far away into the dungeon wall. After striking the wall, it fell unto the ground, before laying limb on the ground.

"Mxm!" Alden clicked his tongue as he saw the notification appear before him."Already dead?"

Alden wondered if the dungeon would be that easy. If it was, he was afraid he would get some low level rewards for it. If he wanted to get stronger, he needed to challenge himself.

"Give me everything you've got damnit!" Alden clenched his fist in determination.

Right at that moment, his wish was granted. He heard the shrieks of multiple dragons, and soon they all appeared. They were all similar to the first one, only they were different colours.

Despite that, their scales only had darker shades.

"Thinking about it, I've never tested myself against large numbers..." Alden thought in excitement.

A few dozen dragons against him alone, it sounded perfect to his ears. But first...

"Converge."

Blue smoke filled the dungeon and in the smoke, a large silhouette appeared. Soon, Mar Kirr's massive figure stood aside Alden. The raven from earlier sat on his shoulder.

"Are you ready for your first mission, Tank?" Alden asked.

"Definitely, master," The tank replied.

"Then let's get moving," Alden said, cracking his knuckles."By the way, hey little guy. I'll call you shadow, I want you to take all the kills, alright? I'll beat them up for you. I want you to level up and be useful."

The raven let out a croak, as if to say it understood.

Alden took a step forward, and he disappeared.

A moment later he was amongst the dragons, his fist already smashing into one. Aside him was Mar Kirr, who was already anniliting dragons with his weapon.

Alden threw his hand forward, his movements fast and fluid. His fist hit the jaw of a dragon which stumbled before falling. It wasn't dead but it was near dead.

The Raven flew toward it next before attacking it with its beak. Its beak hit the scales of the dragon, creating a blue burst of energy everytime it did. After dealing enough damage the dragon was dead.

The blue energy was from moon energy. The moon metal in Alden's dungeon was rich with moon energy and this energy could be found in the weapons made with the metal.

It was a really powerful substance, moon energy, and it was the purest forms of energy.

Alden by now, had taken down a large portion of the dragons. Like a tornado, Alden wreaked havoc everywhere he went.

A dragon tried to bite at him, but he caught its jaws just as it tried to snap at his head. The veins in his arms grew evident as he began pulling outwards. The dragon tried to pull away, but Alden held on tight.

"Ahhhh" Alden let out a shout as finally, a huge snap filled the dungeon. He had tore the dragons jaws apart. It stopped moving.

Alden cast a glance at his bird. It had already reached level 3 with his help. It was too easy killing the dragons, and they hardly gave him points so Alden chose to be charitable and give the raven a chance to grow stronger.

Alden cast a glance at himself. Blood covered his arms and armour, making him look like a child who had played with red paint.

Alden let out a sigh, it would be difficult to get clean after this.

Suddenly he ducked. A fiery red dragon passed overhead, almost taking off his head. Alden summoned his dagger before throwing it forward, while activating his skill [GRAVITY BLADE].

The blade tore through the thick scales of the dragon, before piercing its chest. The dragon let out a cry of pain. It wasn't dead to

yet.

Alden summoned his swordstaff. [GLITCH ] activated and he disappeared into thin air. Alden reappeared behind the dragon.

"Here," Alden said to the confused dragon.

The dragon spun around with a fierce roar, but Alden didn't give it a chance to act. He grabbed his staff and used it's blunt end to strike the dragon, knocking it to the ground.

"Shadow!" Alden shouted.

The Raven was there, flying into the injured Dragon and finishing it before it got up. After the dragon died. Blue energy surrounded the raven, and it's blue cracks glowed brightly. Suddenly, the raven grew in size. It had already grown a bit after levelling up, but now it grew to the size of an eagle.

Alden nodded at the birds progress before turning to check on Mar Kirr. Mar kirr was showcasing his brilliant battle prowess.

His double edged sword was wet with blood, as was his armored body. His fighting ability was impressive, and Alden wondered if it was because of all the knowledge he'd acquired.

"Another surprise attack?" Alden sighed before stepping to the left and slapping the dragon that had just tried to attack him into the ground. Shadow jumped at the chance for points and killed the dragon.

"This is boring I want real competition!" Alden said as he stretched out his hand. He swiped it to the left, and all the remaining dragons flew into the wall at full speed.

"Hey Mar Kirr!" Alden called. Mar Kirr turned to face Alden, who had glitched to stand next to the large Tank.

"Yes master?"

"Is this your real body?" Alden asked. He was genuinely curious about whether or not that was the scholars real body.

"No, master."

"Oh? What is your real body? What's it like anyways?"

"As you might know, I am of the Terrian race. Our bodies are similar to you humans, beside our skin being the colour of ash."

Aldens brows furrowed and he nodded slowly,"I see. What about your old master, who is he?"

"He was terrifying, powerful and majestic. He had conquered a large portion of the continent where I am from. He recruited me to join his army after discovering my intelligence."

"Oh, I see," Alden guessed the rest of the information was irrelevant to him. He decided to ask a single question more."Does your loyalty still lie with him, or is it with me."

"I would never give my loyalty to anyone beside you, master." Mar Kirr said, his voice monotone and emotionless.

"great," Alden said turning away."we've got company, by the way."

They had managed to defeat all the dragons in the dungeons and had a moment of peace. That peace however, had just ended.
